These Army surplus stores have come a long way from their«piles of crap around the store» look from years ago. Now, they’re far more organized and it’s easy to find those items that you’ll need for hunting, work, camping or for when SHTF. Great selection of boots and I was able to find the tactical side-zip boots I was looking for and for only $ 100. They have Carhartt for us work and play outdoors kind of guys. Also have stuff for women now. You can still buy a Alice packs, a pack spade, a throwing star, water tablets, gas masks and uniforms from foreign militaries. They still have the odds and ends mixed with more useful stuff and everything is easier to find. People who work there are a little goofy but overall very helpful.

(I previously posted this review in error to the Joe’s Royal Oak location on Unilocal as was made aware of this by other kind Unilocalers. I was also informed the H20ford location is bigger than the RO one and has a bigger selection, by the way.) I genuinely love me a good army navy surplus store the way I love an old school hardware with the wooden floors that also carries household goods. Really, I do! Joe’s has a variety of old and new military gear(foreign and domestic), camping/hunting necessities, biker stuff, work clothes/boots and tons of other sundry and interesting items. The pricing was decent enough for a lot of things too. Joe’s is conveniently located on M59/Huron/Highland Rd just west of Telegraph.
