Nice place connected to a wine bar with knowledgeable staff and a well organized selection. The guys working there the day I went in were pleasant and very helpful. Place is bright, clean and welcoming. Nice shop!

Driving from MA to NY at 9:30 on New Year’s Eve. Hannah E suddenly realizes they don’t even have some cheap champagne to celebrate when they arrive at her boyfriend’s parents house (est arrival time 11:45pm). Unilocal to the rescue! A quick phone call to confirm hours (open late on NYE! 10 points!) and we exited the highway to find The Good Life right off the exit.
Friendly guy at the counter. I said, «Sir, I’d like your cheapest champagne! Something best gulped from a mug while sitting on the couch!» He grabbed a $ 10 Prosecco for us and we were on our way! I did do a quick walk-​around, and was impressed with the layout and selection. There were some shelves that looked bare, which seemed odd. But otherwise an inviting and well-​stocked shop.
Drank our Prosecco while watching the Twilight Zone and had an immediate headache. Now THAT’S how you do New Years!

Shelves are empty and restaurant is on life support. Not good. I foresee a «for lease» sign by mid February.

Had to write a review immediately because I was 100% satisfied with the level of professionalism, customer service and engagement. Last night I was riding around Waterbury looking for a place I can get some good wine. A good friend of mine for 10+ years invited me to her parents Christmas party. Every year they throw this huge event so I knew I had to bring something really nice. This was the first time I’ve been around her family in years since we went to college. I walked in and they greeted me and asked if I needed help. I replied and told them the occasion. I wish I knew his name but after I told him my friend is a white wine drinker, (I prefer red) he helped me out so much with this decision. Beautiful place. Very clean.
After 30mins of exploring various amounts of wines. I choose the Jacobs Creek Mascoto. Something I’ve never tried. After I was ready to check out, they kindly and beautifully gift wrapped my bottle. Wished me a merry Christmas and shook my hand. I felt very welcomed. I highly recommend this place. They know how to help you make a choice for a specific occasion. I will definitely be coming back.

When I need a bottle of wine or want to try some new-​to-​me beer this is the place I go as this is a few minutes from the private practice where I work.
Jamie is awesome and very personable as well as knowledgable. He has helped me choose an interesting bottle for a Booze Swap this past holiday season and introduced me to Maine Beer Company beer which inspired my recent trip to the brewery. Thanks to him I also tried Allagash Black for the first time while in Maine as he knew of my love for the White.
The store is well organized, set up nicely, and great for walking around to browse the wide variety of products available. This is my favorite of this type of store in the entire state. I’m proud to be the Duchess.
