Love this place. Prices may be high and parking is the pits, but the quality of service that you get cannot be beat by any run of the mill discount depot store. Warranties included are helpful and they even have a repair center that will pick up your equipment (for a fee). Came in for a snowblower and left with one ontop of some other useful winter tools. If you live in the area and are tired of franchise stores with low product knowledge college kids, this is the place to go.

Schmidt’s & Serafine’s gives great personal service. Anytime I go there they help me find whatever I need, carry my purchases to the car for me most of the time without my ever asking them to; I never have a problem there. Years ago when I needed a bolt for the running board on a van I no longer own, the salesman even came out to the truck and tried several bolts and tools until I had exactly what I needed. I can’t imagine any big chain store having a worker come out into the parking lot like that and make sure I had the right tool and bolt for the job. I would highly recommend this Waterbury store.

My local hardware store, located just a few miles from where I live. It’s very convenient for me, I always find what I’m looking for and don’t waste time like I do when I’m at a Home Depot store. Great customer service too, it’s easy to find someone right away if I need to ask a question.

I am very pleased with the service I received from the store today. I was on my half hour lunch break and needed to get a key made for my home. I walked in and the woman working in the front area asked to help me right away. I had a key that I purchased online (specialty NFL team) and called several key making places to get it copied, but no one would do it. She took the keys and copied them within a few seconds. She even did this service free of charge due to not being able to guarantee the work since the key wasn’t purchased there. I am so impressed with her service, timeliness, and friendly demeanor. You don’t see that in stores or any businesses very often and it was refreshing.

I have been going here for many years. It’s a small local neighborhood hardware store. It’s a little pricey but I like the customer service I get here and I like supporting local places like this. Most recently, I had bought 2, 50 lb. bags of road salt. After I bought it, the Schmidt’s and Serafine’s employee carried both bags out and put them in my car for me. I have had similiar service in the past when I had purchased large bags of fertilizer. You don’t get this kind of service at Home Depot.

Good ratings, overall good service in the lawn mower department especially. Mr. Fusco was excellent on the phone and even better in person. Delivered my mower as promised. If you go into the store, they will help you 100%. A bit more pricy than big box stores, but customer service is very very good.
Can’t say the same for their people on E. Aurora St in Waterbury where repairs on done on lawn equipment. VERY rude on the phone. Stick with the people on Chase Ave and you won’t go wrong.
