Banana Brasil Grille

I was so happy when Banana Brasil opened on New Park Avenue in Hartford. The food was delicious. My favorite is the Potato Salad and Beef Stew. I paid per pound for take out and this is my only complaint. The first occasion I paid a little over twenty dollars for two modest trays of food, the second time eleven dollars. This is way too expensive for me to enjoy more than once every blue moon. Chinese take out in the neighborhood for two people usually cost about ten to fifteen dollars.

So many yums!!! the meat is perfect– granted salty but I like my meat seasoned and who doesn’t?! Nice charred outside but medium rare inside (steak) and the wings were delish too!
Buffet offers pernil, rice and beans, and my favorite platanos! It’s 14.99 per lb if you get the grilled meats but it was worth it! 11.99 for just the buffet which did have a couple meat choices in it!

I went with a crew of jeeps and we all love there food love the potato salad also the chicken in the grill was really good.

Meat heaven glorious chimes so greasy it makes u kinda feel bad afterwards but waaaaaayyyyy soo worth it this is food like you have never tried before in waterbury is definitely one of those places that you won’t get tired of going but keep and eye on the scale though don’t let it creep up on you. Go now!

We came in here a couple of months ago with friends that are regulars.
The meats were fresh and flavorful. the beef and sausage was my favorite and the buffet items were vast and delicious as well.
We will be back soon for lunch!

Good place to get you carnivore on. Plenty of different types of meat available. I tried some steak and pork ribs. The beef was good but was overly salted for me. I thought the ribs were dry but flavorful. They also have a buffet option which allows you load up on some sides.

Very good food! The meat was delicious and the price is very reasonable for it. The owner was very nice and helpful for being there for the first time. The buffet was good but it could have had better looking selections.

Yes! The only good thing about Waterbury. Limited selection from the grill, but the steak is on point. The chicken was a bit dry and tough for my taste.

Meats and salads. Things are charged by the pound but they have cheap deals, $ 10’for the buffet and $ 12 for buffet and grill all you can eat.
Parking is limited and kind of awkward since its right on a busy street and when you back out of a spot you’re on a 40mph road and cars wiz by.
For anyone that does a rotation at Staywell Health for Uconn, you must go here for lunch.
For the price it’s an awesome hidden gem.

This place is simply outstanding. All you can eat for $ 12.99. The sirloin was perfectly cooked. The buffet options Were excellent too. Highly recommend this place. The owner is a super nice guy too.

The regular buffet was okay, but the bbq was fantastic. My family and i were just passing thru the city when we stopped here on Unilocal and it was a very solid place fot dinner. Very happy we stopped here. The owner was very friendly and super chill about letting my mom sit w/​us w/​o eating and wasn’t hawking over us to check if she was sneaking anything.

I stopped in for lunch. It’s located less than a mile from route 8. Unilocal,as always, pointed me in the right direction. The food was very good. I had the Buffett and BBQ, can’t beat it for 12.99. Great value and very delicious Brazilian BBQ.

One of Waterbury’s hidden gems, this place is ridiculously good. Owner is super friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious. All you can eat for only 12.99, which includes rice and beans that melt in your mouth, some of the best potato salad and lasagna I have ever had, and a variety of freshly cooked meat, including bacon wrapped chicken, that they cut for you off of a rotisserie spit. The owner also makes his own juice. The passion fruit is my favorite and I don’t even like juice but it is so fresh and only 1.50!
Try this place and you’ll be hooked!!!

Great «hole in the wall.» Recommend the Banana Brazil Grill for a simple, quick meal. The food is good, the service friendly and the place clean. Plus, selection of food changes regularly so the buffet never gets redundant. Just $ 11-​$ 13, all you can eat. Enjoy!

Great place for lunch, the buffet is 10.99 and the barb que is 12.99 per person. They have lunch until 3pm. I don’t why Unilocal says this place is closed but it’s not, they expanded their buffet selections. It’s called Brazil banana buffet or something like that. They have rice beans, chicken fish beef salads dessert… very good Latin food at a great price.

I’m from Massachusetts and I go to a lot of Brazilian food spots, and this was right up there with them, yet much better priced. I had the full buffet and all you can eat for $ 12.99. It was three of us we all did the all out buffet and drank guanana and ended up with a 48 dollars when usually I’m easily over 100 $. Great place the bacon chicken and the rice was my favorite steak was good too. The gentleman Alex at the front end is the biggest reason I will be going back. Very kind and friendly helping everyone I saw very much. Great place I highly recommend.

I’m so happy I found this little gem! I tried this place for the first time for lunch today. I’ve dined at a «Brazilian Steakhouse» chain style restaurant before but never had traditional Brazilian fare before.
It’s a counter, buffet style style restaurant. You grab your plate, hit the buffet and BBQ station, then pay and sit wherever you want.
There were about 20 items on the buffet to choose from including meats, starches, salads, fruit, veggies and a dessert item (looked like rice pudding?). I especially loved the rice and beans and the fried plantains.
It was only $ 9.99 for the buffet! $ 11.99 if you want to get the BBQ station included. *All you can eat!* The BBQ is a variety of skewered meats roasting on spits above the grill, carved to order. Or you can pay by the pound. They also sell sandwiches, individual items, desserts, and bottled juices and soft drinks.
The staff was super friendly and answered some questions I had about the food. Very casual atmosphere, pretty basic appointments, by no means fancy. Simple tables and chairs, about 20 tables, linoleum floor & drop ceiling. And and the Portuguese station on a flatscreen TV! I thought it had quaint, comfortable, local, ethnic charm.
I’ll definitely be back regularly. I recommend this to anyone wanting to try something new for a delicious, cheap and quick lunch, dinner or takeout. Next time, I want to try the BBQ and some of the desserts!

I’ve been wanting to try a Brazilian restaurant with steak like this for a long time.
First off, if your looking for ambiance, this is not your place. If your looking for phenomenal, authentic food, this is it! AMAZING!!!
I’m American so I had no idea where to go to find the best place. But my friend from Brazil brought me here and boy am I happy! I can’t wait to bring my husband and the rest of my family. It is truly a diamond in the rough!
The beans and rice are fab. And the steak and chicken on the slow roasting BBQ, to die for! I didn’t even make it past those things! Did I mention it’s reasonably priced at $ 12/​pp for the buffet?! Incredible.
Don’t let the area deceive you, you will not be disappointed with this meal.

I went to lunch at Brasil Grill, again, on ⁷⁄₃₀. The rice and beans deliciously melted in your mouth, the steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. It gets better and better every time I go. It’s easy to load up your plate and finish it all in a blink of an eye. This visit seals the deal for an upgrade to 5 stars. Keep up the good work Brasil Grill.
