This place is the most horrible restaurant on earth. Reservation was for 9pm. By 10pm still no table. Then the DJ came on and we got to relive hall & oats greatest hits. The crowd was the most douchey collection of clowns.

Great service, horrible food. Just imagine the worst chinese take out chinese food you’ve ever had but for the amazing price of 70 $ a plate. Bathroom was small and kinda dingy. The soap dispenser in the mens bathroom was awkwardly close to the urinal so youre basically washing your hand in the next guys urine… Seriously. ALSO check your bill for the auto tip, dont make the same mistake I did and tip twice for a place that didnt deserve it.

So many things wrong with this place. A– the tension in the room is pretty obvious due to the 4 managers running around anxiously pulling waiters and hostesses in different directions B– not one waiter or host was familiar with the menu and could describe what was in certain dishes(asked about the hot soup) some hostesses look and sounded like they came from Russian on working visas and obvious put down the authenticity of the cuisine C– our server sucked. We had a party of 4 and ordered 9 appetizers and 1 entrée all to split He brings out all 9 at the same time and spaces out the entrée for 30 minutes after that… Spacing is extremely important in a meal, you have to have common sense and space it out 2 – 3 at a time so things don’t get cold stale and overwhelming D– the chairs are lawn chairs –____– E– the food was decent l, the crispy beef was good and so was the lettuce wraps and chicken satay Wouldn’t come back, not a cheap meal and they definitely need to work out their stuff

Super disappointing! Had heard about the NYC location and decided to give this one a try out East. My friends and I had the RUDEST waiter ever. After taking our order(which happened 35 minutes after sitting down), he never once came back to check in on our food/overall satisfaction. He seemed super frazzled, and the entire outside section was clearly understaffed. He may have been the only person for those 10 – 15 tables, each of which had large parties. He didn’t seem to care/try either way. The music outside was incredibly loud, to the point where multiple tables requested it be lowered. Totally understand the general party vibe of the restaurant, but the volume was excessive. In addition to the rude waitstaff, the hostess/maitre were less than accommodating. Food was pretty good, but unfortunately overshadowed by the unpleasant overall experience. If you decide to pay this much for Chinese food, you should get amazing service and ambiance. This didn’t deliver.

Everything was great from start to finish. It was my first time there, so we asked the waiter to recommend us what to order. We did not get exactly what he said, but heres plate by plate Chicken lettuce wraps: really good, but nothing special. I would be happy eating the cheaper version at PF Changs. Crispy seaweed: interesting. Big portion. We really enjoyed it, but the restaurant is worth ordering other stuff instead. Pork soup dumplings: we wanted more!!! Sooo good. Crispy duck: its the same concept of the pecking duck. The pancakes, sauce, etc. but it doesn’t take as long. The pecking duck is better(haven’t tried it here though, just speaking in general) but this was pretty good and didn’t have to wait the 45 minutes for it to get cooked. We were huungrryy. Drunken sea bass: very good and tasty. A little too sweet, but really good. It melted in your mouth. Eggplant side: not worth it in my opinion. Wasn’t very good, and you don’t need it! Portions are hugee. We couldn’t make it to dessert. The lychee martinis are fantastic though. Pricy, but very good. We will be back to try something different for sure! Everything other guests were eating looked fantastic!

This place is terrible. So expensive. Food full of corn starch. I also found it strange that the 5 star reviews seemed to have been written by same person. Read them same adjectives

I had a reservation and the man at the front greeted me warmly and started to get out menus, then the hostess came up in a very short leather mini skirt and greeted me. When she stood behind the computer she said, «oh, «in a sing song voice and said, do you have reservations? I said, yes and the man said, yes, but I don’t think she was prepared to «hear» us. Her demeanor completely changed. She became very serious. She seated me. No big deal. The satay was just OK and not that physically warm. The pork fried rice was very good and kept warm in it’s own little pot at the table. The non alcoholic drinks were very tall and skinny glasses with a ton of ice. The third one I asked for no ice. I’ve never done that before. I was thirsty. $ 58.00with tip for one person

Zero stars would be more appropriate! Overpriced, with mediocre food. The chicken was tough and the shrimp(at $ 64) for two, was bland and tasteless. Total bill for two of us(one drink) came to $ 175. There were so many better restaurants, for that price, we could have gone to. Yes, the atmosphere is great, the service attentive, but if you are going there to eat, forget about it. Stay away!

The food is obviously weak and overpriced, but the place gets a cute crowd and is improved over the last spot(fka Trata) just by not having the fat owner lording over the festivities. The two stars is because DJ Martial was awful Sat 6⁄13 — playing bar mitzvah music and dancing to his own shtick. People were walking up and turning around. He knew he was struggling and I felt bad. We had to relocate.

It has taken me months to write this review, but my experience at Red Stixs was traumatizing, like losing my virginity, so I remember it like it was yesterday. I went here with my family. We’re a cool family. Like sometimes we’ll make sex jokes. That type of family. We decided to go here to celebrate one of our first Hamptons weekends of the summer, and immediately regretted our decision. It’s kinda our fault. What the hell is «upscale Chinese,» really? I believe there’s no such thing. It all ends up just tasting like sauce anyway. I’d rather pay $ 8.95 and eat it out of a carton like the disgusting beast that I am anyway. The prices for what you get are really unbelievable. I believed them, because I saw them with my own eyes, but I rubbed my eyes in disbelief, like I was in a movie. The portions are«family style,» but I think Red Stix’s idea of a family is a married couple that has had problems conceiving because the husband is shooting blanks, so it’s just the two of them. We are a family of five, and the dishes gave each person a very small portion of food. So, you’re paying double prices, but getting single portions. But forget about the food. It’s Chinese food, what did you really expect? The service was really what stuck out to us. I couldn’t tell you who our server was because he never actually came over to us. It was like I was back at a school dance, waiting for a girl to grind on me, but she never came… We had to just keep on flagging down random staff as they passed and the manager to put in orders. It was bizarre. Maybe they were playing hard to get? Another weird thing from throughout the night — the lights kept on being turned way up and then way down. The switch must’ve been on a door where two staff members kept passionately making out with each other or something. Nothing ruins the ambiance of a dining experience quite like flooding the room with bright lights. It immediately outed my less than stellar complexion too! After the manager realized how shitty our service was, he told my dad that he would«take care of it.» Apparently taking care of it meant doing literally nothing! We got the check and everything we ordered was on there, no comps, no nothing. We asked waiters to send the manager over three separate times, sitting there stewing in anger for about twenty-five minutes, before the manager returned and my dad pointed out that he’d done nothing. They ended up taking off a little bit of money, but it wasn’t even worth the extra half-hour we had to sit there to get it done. We left the restaurant angry, hungry, and on the verge of diarrhea. In conclusion, Red Stixs sucks many red dix. Hope this place is gone by next summer.

Don’t eat here. Waited an hour after our reservation for a table. My group of 4 was seated at a table and 5 minutes later the hostess walked up with the maitre’d to inform us that the table was reserved for a different group. Manager walked up and apologized. Only given 3 menus. This was my second visit. First time no problems, second time killed it. Never again. Crowd is 45+.

Amazing food. Loved the chicken and broccoli, jasmine rice, velvet chicken, and chicken lettuce wraps. Probably the best chinese food I’ve ever had. Service was mediocre and ambiance OK.
