This specific location prefers not to keep your business and you take your money back. Ryan, a store associate had told me I could put a Call Of Duty PS4 on layway. I would just need to have it out by Jan. 1st. I made my initial down payment. The next day, I went back in and made a 2nd payment with Brett the store manager. Nothing was said about issues with my layway then. Finally, the system was release and the following Saturday Brett called to inquire when am I picking up my C.O.D. PS4 that is in the store. I informed him it was on layway. He proceeded to tell me it isn’t allowed on layway. I went back through the whole story with him on what I was told. He in returned understood the inconvenience and would speak to his district manager and call me in a couple of days. 4 days passed and I called on Wednesday. William answered the phone, which per Brett is the district manager, and informed me Brett is tied up with a customer and asked how he could help. I re-explained the situation to him. He proceeded with the same story of how that specific system isn’t allowed on layway only the Uncharted Edition is. He asked is I wanted to move my payments to it. I didnt. If I wanted another system, guess what, I would have put money on that system. He put me on hold for Brett. After 6 min, came back on and said Brett is really busy, can he take my name and number and call me back. I responded no because he didn’t even call me back after a couple of days. I sat on hold for 17 min. Brett came on phone and stated that there is nothing that can be done. I can move my money to a system that is layway permitted or pick up my money. Even though, the system that was in the store, waiting for me to be picked up, they could not keep it in the store until I paid it off per Gamestop Corp, per Brett. I went to the store, only one customer in store and he was on a cellphone talking to someone about video games. Brett greeted me and I told him I’m was there to pick up my money to which I was referred to as the playstation guy. He told me he was busy with a customer, which must have been the one on the phone talking about games while browsing. William went straight to the back office. Brett continue to persuade me to move to another system which again, if I wanted another system, I would gotten another system. I just kept saying I want my money back. I did get my money back. A week later, a friend whom put the Dart Vader PS4 on layway received a phone call. Even though the system wasn’t released yet and he had a very small payment left on it, they told him to complete payment when it comes out or get his money. He went and got his money. The store lost out on between $ 800 — $ 900 between the 2 systems. Even though mine was in the store waiting and an employee stated I could have layway, they wouldn’t stand behind that employees word. Even if he was wrong, it is called good customer service. Next time, don’t put a half trained associate on the floor. I contact Gamestop Corp and asked for them to contact me. Still till this day, no word from anyone. The company would rather lose 2 loyal customers. Word of mouth, especially negative words, spread far and last longer than good ones. I will be submitting a form to BBB and a formal letter to the companies president. All it took for to stand behind a word. You already had the product in the store waiting on me.
