I was so hungry, and I needed tacos. Boy did this place deliver! We got enough to make a mountain of tacos lol. The grilled cactus was a really nice touch. The taco soup was some of the best I’ve ever had. I got the soup to go, and it was still amazing reheated the next day. Highly recommended this place if you are in the area and really hungry. Who doesn’t love tacos?!? Mmm

Usually go here for nachos and a margarita, and will keep coming back. Service is fast and pleasant, and nachos and margaritas always hit the spot.

Yes, this is another review of another bad Mexican restaurant. I attribute the positive reviews to people who have never been exposed to the real deal. Let’s start with the basics. Fake Chips. Sure they were hot and crispy for the first minute or two out of the warming tray but they quickly went cold and it was obvious these were not hand-cut from corn tortillas and fried in-house. While I don’t condone it, I get the pain of doing homemade taco shells; a lesser evil. Store bought chips are just inexcusable. Salsa. Hot was mild and mild was tomato sauce with the barest of pieces of tomato and onion. «hot» had a few steps up on mild with more texture but it was still watery. Very large menu. You definitely don’t want for choices. I was hoping for a good chile verde or an arroz con pollo but each had something I didn’t like about it so I opted for a straight up combo: tamale(pork), ground beef taco and cheese and onion enchilada. The rice was tasteless as were the beans. The beans had the added«bonus» of being so watered down that they were edible only if cold and congealed or with a spoon. The taco was a notch above Taco Bell because they actually used cheddar cheese but all in all, pretty disgusting. The tamale was mushy and was more masa than pork although I do think that will be a credit when I finish it for dinner tonight. The enchilada was okay. It was your basic cheese enchilada. Quite thin but the most edible thing on the plate. We sat at the bar because I’d heard they had happy hour. If you’re drinking and not eating, it might be worthwhile but the food offerings were sparse and expensive; approximately five selections for 5.00 each. No real effort at a good happy hour here. The service was fine at the beginning. I had one very weak cocktail. The chips and salsa arrived quickly as did the food. However once we were served, all semblance of attentiveness went out the window. The people behind the bar were more interested in mixing cocktails for the handful of other patrons. We sat for quite a long time with our cold food waiting for to go boxes, our check and, eventually, our plates to be cleared. Seriously, drive 15 minutes and go to El Tapatio in Hazel Dell. It’s remarkably similar in offerings but they have better cocktails(Salmon Creek location definitely has a bar but I’ve not ordered cocktails at the Hazel Dell location) and better food. It’s not authentic. I have no expectation that it is when I go but the food is always plentiful and the quality is better. The service is WAY better. It’s an alternative if you don’t want to do fast food or drive into Portland.

We love it here. Been coming for the past 10 years but find ourselves at LD2 most of them time. Food is always good and consistently so. Love their mild salsa and their friendly atmosphere. Can’t beat the fajitas, enough to split for 2 people.

Been going here since I moved to Washougal… Was excellent. then I ordered a chimichanga. what came out was a flouta… like a taquito with a flour tortilla. When I brought it to the managers attention… they said this was a chimi! I said well this is nothing like I’d ever received before, then I was ignored and delayed waiting 20 minutes for the check… which had no discount for the order mistake which I did not eat. Lost a good monthly $ 80.00 customer. I don’t one star things lightly. Chad B. Washougal Wa. PS Los Dos Please try and change my opinion and I will moderate my review!

I love this place! I just moved here from central California. I was hoping to find a great Mexican restaurant and I have! The atmosphere is great, lots of great Mexican music. The food is fantastic. I had the seafood enchilada and my nephew had the cheese enchilada. The service was fast and friendly and the food was sooooooooo good. It came on a colorful round platter that was hot through the entire meal. The chips and salsa was also fantastic. We got both the spicy version and the mild one and we loved both of them. I highly recommend Los Dos Compadres II.

Hey it’s another Mexican restaurant. Most these places I really can’t tell the difference. My wife orders the mole and I guess the mole is different in every Mexican place. I wouldn’t know I don’t like Mole. So I rate these a little bit different than other people do. It’s all based on the chips and salsa. Liquidy salsa is bad, Chunky salsa is good. This place was average but the chips were warm and salty. Not too salty. Maybe I should make a list based on chips and salsa for The good Mexican restaurants.

After reading the fairly great reviews of this small town join I was excited to try it out. The staff are very friendly and the service is fast… maybe too fast. Coming from Los Angeles and having been to Mexico, this is not«authentic» Mexican food. It takes like bad tex mex. It isn’t a good sign when your food is ready within 10 minutes after ordering it and the plate is SCALDING hot. You know what that means? It was in the microwave. I don’t want microwaved food, I want food that was actually cooked. Very disappointed in the quality and definitely won’t be coming back here again.

I just moved to Washington from California, and I’d been dreading the loss of good Mexican food. I’d already tasted some of the attempts on the east coast and thought I was at a loss here as well. Los Dos Compadres is the answer to my Mexican food deficiency problem, it’s really good. Get a BIG margarita and be adventurous, order something a little different than you’re used to. What’s good: Chile Relleno, mole, pollo y crema, salsa has a nice smokiness to it What’s not as good: They’re fixing up the outside, so it’s not pretty outside right now, if that matters to you. I saw some people joking about how to say the name with the II in it, it would be El segundo los dos compadres, I think.

I think this location as well as the original one both have good standard Mexican food, and their prices are in line with other similar restaurants. The service is pretty good. My daughter’s quesedilla(ordered off the kids’ menu) came out on an extremely hot plate, which we thought was kind of silly. I usually order the veggie burrito… the only minor issue I have is it tastes like the veggies are cooked in butter, which I would prefer they made clear in their menu. Anyways happy to have both locations so close, so we try to go there if we just want standard Mexican.

You know, when you’re eating Mexican food… and you think it’s decent, but thinking to yourself«I’ve had better»…but you can never really pinpoint where that«better» Mexican food was? It was here. Los Dos Compadres II.(Los Dos Compadres Dos! haha or maybe Los Dos Dos Compadres?) Good pollo y mole, good(very rich!) pollo y crema, good chips with mild and hot salsa served. Big portions and friendly service. I once ordered fajitas with no peppers(’cause, eww to peppers) and they brought out a sizzling platter of I swear at least 2 entire onions to make up for the lack of peppers. Thoughtful, and delicious!

As I’ve said before, I love mexican food. I do enjoy this location much better than the first one. The parking lot is larger, the food tends to be better, and I don’t seem to run into familiar faces as often which is great for a small town! The reason I am giving this one star less than its sister restaurant is because of the new help. I understand that not all of the workers would move over to this one but do they still need to be training the newbies? It has been open for several months but there seems to be a really young person running the cash register everytime I pick up the family’s order. Sometimes I wonder if they charge the wrong amount just because she still doesn’t know how to run the register. Maybe one of these days they will get it together…
