Steep Rock Association

Nice hike! Took the hike & equestrian trail down from river road and then walked back up the hiking trail. Steep and narrow on the way back. Great walk for the dogs too. Only problem– at times the trail was littered with poison ivy… It is that time of year. Plenty of small openings where u could walk by the river and have your pooch dip his feet in. Dogs must be leashed! Read the website for details! We got lost on the way there — and didn’t realize we had used the wrong address. They do suggest using a «gps» input address 2 tunnel… We used the association’s address — it took us directly to the center of Washington depot (cute town) and if you take river road allllll the way down and bear towards the left. You’ll get there just the same.

Some of the best trails CT has to offer. Steep Rock in the Fall should be on every CT native’s bucket list.
