Great family-owned joint in Washington. Always great service and good food. Anytime they have any kind of BBQ on special, order it! I’m especially partial to their Memphis pulled pork sliders and ribs. Plus, their slaw is that beautiful, creamy type of slaw that goes great with pulled pork. Also enjoy their breakfast, which is offered all day. Great waffles and pancakes, good-size servings of eggs, bacon, etc and HUMONGOUS cinnamon rolls, that should not be overlooked. Great prices here for good portions.

My family tried Rothchilds when first moved to the area in 2010. We were not impressed. Food was mediocre and the service seemed cold. We did notice other patrons being waited on with friendly conversation and smiles. We gave it a 2^nd try months later and the same experience. Now it being five years later and the same treatment again. We assume we are unfamiliar faces, so we were treated like outsiders. The locals get great friendly smiles and refills. This being our 3^rd time we will not give it another thought. Too bad, we could of been regulars too.

Super breakfast! Order anything… it was all amazing!!! We had a party of 4 and were seated quickly. When our food arrived our table was very crowded. Not complaining though. All made fresh to order!

A perfect local joint. Great for watching new and old connections be made.
Their pancakes rival anywhere else. A direct quote from my sister, «these are the best pancakes I’ve ever had»
Their coffee is great, as is their selection of comfort food. Prices are average… Not cheap but not going to break the bank

This place has good servers. They are very friendly and willing to help even if it isn’t their table. That being said the hostess/cashier is horrible. Everyone just walks in and takes a table when we were waiting. We had a party of 6 with 5 being elderly. They were going to push tables together for us. She let one of the tables we were supposed to use get picked up by a couple that came in. We had to wait another twenty minutes due to this after having waited 30 minutes already. An elderly man and his wheelchair wife got pushed out of a table because she wasn’t paying attention. The food is typical of a café or diner. The pancakes are fluffy and tasty. The coffee is delicious. They were able to accommodate special orders perfectly. If you can get passed the front, I’d say this place was pretty good.

We started out our day headed to the Dutzow area to look at a puppy. We were way early so we decided to cross the river and try and find some place to grab a quick lunch. We spied a sign on the side of the road advertising Rothschild’s so we thought we’d give it a try. The number of cars in the parking lot indicated we might have made a good choice.
We discovered after we went inside that this restaurant has been there for over 50 years and started out as an A&W. My wife and I love a good chicken fried steak and here we found a great chicken fried steak! Obviously hand breaded and not delivered pre-prepared as so many restaurants are now prone to serving.
To top it all off, the service was outstanding as well! I don’t make it to Washington very often but from now on whenever I do, I’ll be eating here!

Turkey club was thinly sliced but with an ample amount. It was one of the best we have ever had. The pecan pancakes were light and fluffy and mouthfuls of pecans!

If you looked up the definition of «Small town family restaurant that serves comfort food» a picture of Rothschild’s might be there.
It is such a nice little place, with fresh hot food, a stellar breakfast, and good service. They put their specials on their Facebook page each week, and tonight I had the chicken and dumplings special. Delicious! My husband tried their roast beef and also liked his meal. We left wondering why we don’t eat here more often. Great place!
