Roland’s Trattoria

I am giving 4 stars because my salad was not fresh. The server should have noticed that… not Roland ’ s fault. The Roland sauce is some of the best pasta sauce I have ever eaten. It consistently tastes the same and it has that slow simmered taste. The pizza is delicious with homemade crunchy crust. Our server was very nice but missed the fact that the salad was not fresh. The place is always busy on Friday and Saturday night. You will need a reservation.

Food was average Italian food. Nothing special. I had the chicken Romano which was $ 16 (overpriced). Also ordered the rigatoni which was $ 10 plus an additional $ 3 for butter. It is ridiculous that I was charged extra for butter. It didn’t indicate that anywhere on the menu and the server didn’t tell me either when I ordered it. The rigatoni was out of a box and a rip off for the price. Server was friendly but it took way too long for the food to come out. Atmosphere was very bad. This place needs a major make over. Children’s menu only has two items and they are $ 7 which is pricey. Kids items don’t even come with a drink or dessert for that high of a price. Will not be dining here again or telling anyone else to eat here.

Go for the food! It’s a fun place to eat. Roland’s sauce is spicy and awesome compared to regular Prime rib — huge and delicious Home cut fries. Don’t let the building chase you away unless that us a priority for your meal. Go. Enjoy

The best non-​national chain restaurant I’ve been to in Washington, PA. I had the veal parm and it was not a glued together (mcnugget style) amalgam of «meat» … rather it was a nicely tenderized, moderately thin whole veal cutlet, perfectly fried and topped with mozzarella, Parmesan and a well-​reduced, flavorful marinara sauce. Old school, but very good.
My husband enjoyed his linguine with Roland’s sauce — which seemed to be a version of the marinara with some peppers and other veggies. Again, old school, but good.
My entrée came with a choice of pasta or baked potato — I ordered the latter, and should have ordered the former as the potato comes with no condiments (just a naked baked tater) … not even sour cream … so I left that behind.
The salad came family style — we were a party of 12 … and had mostly iceberg lettuce (would have been nice to have had some better lettuce mixed in – say some romaine and red leaf lettuce) which was crisp and the salad had red onions, pear tomatoes, black olives, and pepperoncini. The dressings in our instance were served on the side …
No ordered dessert, the portions are obscenely large … really enough to feed 3 people comfortably.
The ambiance is severely lacking … in fact, the room we were in had portions of the inside of the exterior wall falling apart and an overhead beam missing a section with twisted metal and innards exposed.
The wine list is poor. I had a nice «Flaming River» pale ale from Cleveland … an homage to the Cuyahoga River … which at one point I believe rivaled a river in my neck of the woods, the Duwamish, for being one of the most polluted rivers in the county, although I don’t think the Duwamish actually ever caught fire …

Spent the weekend in Washington Pa moving my girls out of college. We decided on Roland’s for various reasons with the most important being a great beer list for the area. It happened to be Saturday evening and they were running their weekly prime rib special. Turns out they have a substantial 22oz king cut of rib roast with a nice salt and spice crust. Sides were limited to a couple basic selections but the rib more than made up for it. Had they offered a nice roasted garlic mash and some horseradish sauce I would have had no problem giving a 5on this review.

Rollens was absolutely AMAZING. The food was phenomenal! I Love their sauces and was blown away by the authentic tasting Tiramisu. If you like Italian be sure to give this place a try is was one of the best in my opinion!
