I visited once each pre-tornado and post-tornado, both times in a group. Reid’s has tasty sandwiches and soup — something for everybody — and good service, even during the lunch rush.

What a yummy local gem! Here working in Indiana for the week. This place was recommended by a site director at one of my schools. The pastrami on rye and cheese broccoli soup were on point. The staff was really friendly and everything was well priced. Glad I got to try this restaurant in this town while visiting :)

Reid’s is great! It’s one of the best lunch spots in Washington. Their staff is always very friendly. Their soups are wonderful(my favorite is their Tomato Basil Soup) and their other items are fantastic as well. I have never had anything I didn’t like from there. I go as often as I can. Their loaded spuds are big and almost enough for 2 people.

Reid’s is the bright spot in the blah world of lunch time offerings in Washington. I had only visited once in their pre-tornado location but since opening in the former DQ building I have visited multiple times and have yet to be truly disappointed. They offer a wide variety of sandwiches(hot & cold), several types of salads, huge baked potatoes with choice of various toppings and usually 3 varieties of homemade soup. Oh and fresh baked desserts to die for! My personal favorite is the peanut butter pie, usually cut large enough to share, a rich and creamy peanut butter filling piled high on what I believe to be a graham cracker crust and topped with a heap of whipped cream. As far as the other items go, I’ve had their broccoli cheese soup, a thick creamy blend of cheese and broccoli not the typical stuff you get in a restaurant. This is a flavorful soup that isn’t a mix of nasty cheese product but real cheese, my only complaint was a couple of bites were almost twig like broccoli stems but that may be a sign of being homemade. My usual sandwich is the Reuben and they make a doozy! The rye bread has always been soft and it’s full of tender corned beef stacked high, tangy sauerkraut and delicious thousand island dressing, though I’d prefer more dressing on mine it comes together well. The sandwich comes with a bag of chips and a zesty dill pickle spear but I’ve never eaten more than half the sandwich and the pickle spear. I’ve had the bbq sandwich and it was tasty with tender meat but it got swallowed up by the bun and could use more sauce in my opinion. For the price the sandwich could have used more meat or maybe a smaller bun. Finally I’ve had the curry chicken salad. I enjoy the flavor of curry but usually have to avoid it because of the heat. Not in this case, it isn’t overly spicy but instead gives you the delicious almost delicate flavor of curry mixed with chicken, pecans, and golden raisins. I’m not a fan of raisins but they fit in the mix perfectly. I would recommend Reids to anyone looking for a flavorful lunch that is not the typical fast food fare. Service is pretty quick though, especially considering they’re making the sandwiches etc by hand not pulling a burger out of a warmer and slapping it on a bun.

I’ve only visited Reid’s once, but I liked it. They are in what used to be an old Dairy Queen. They’ve fixed it up to look nice and cheery. They offer soups, salads, and sandwiches(both hot and cold). The young man that waited on us(at our table) was nice. He took our order on a iPad like device and brought our food after not too long of a wait. The food was served on real dishes with real silverware. I got a combo of ½ of a regular chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and a cup of potato dill soup. My husband got a curry chicken salad sandwich and a caesar salad. The soup and sandwiches were really good — my chicken salad had grapes and pecans in it, I think my husband’s had raisins in it(and curry!). The potato soup tasted like they had made it there. The caesar salad lettuce was fresh, and it had nice parmesan cheese sprinkled on top — along with small sliced black olives, which I found a little odd — but no big deal to just not eat those. Overall, good food, friendly service, pleasant décor. We would definitely go back if in the area.
