Not a fan. Went here several times with family, most recently in July, but just am not that into Monical’s given my biases toward NYC pizza, which this is not. It’s thin pizza with decent taste and stringy cheese, but I don’t like the crust. It doesn’t have the texture or taste of NYC pizza crust, due to the water the dough is made with, the way it’s baked, etc. Does that mean the pizza is bad, or you won’t like it? Not necessarily, but these are just my preferences. If you’re new to central Illinois and are looking for decent pizza, I’d recommend giving Monical’s a try.

We bought 5 pizzas for takeout on a Saturday night. I remember they used to have good pizza but these were not good. The crust was not crisp and the toppings were low quality. Overall the pizzas were underseasoned. Either monicals pizza has gone downhill or our expectations for pizza have gone up.

Great pizza. Grew up eating Monical’s pizza so I’m a little biased. The Deluxe pizza is my favorite in the area. Only two complaints is that their beer menu stinks, and they don’t deliver to Germantown Hills.

Much, much better this time around.
The service was greatly improved this time, as we were served as soon as we were seated. The food came out fast; a family order of breadsticks, and two 14″ thin-​crust pizzas.
The Florentine pizza was great. Not too many vegetables, still a crisp crust, and great tasting all around. The breadsticks were tender and just-​right chewy as well.
This is Monical’s at its best. More of this, please!

My family LOVES Monical’s Pizza. It is not one of my favorites. They like thin crust pizza while I like an original or thick crust pizza. Service varies from mediocre to fantastic, so we tend to pick up our pizza and eat it at home. One thing we all agree on is that the pizza is expensive for what you get. I gave them a four star rating for two reasons:
— My family loves the pizza
— They have a very good gluten-​free pizza

I usually like monical’s but this place never tastes like monical’s is supposed to taste. On top of that, the service was incredibly poor. I can understand when a server is having an off day, but it took more than 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were sitting there, and the place wasn’t even that busy.

Great pizza, great deals and we like the Family Special when we go with friends. Pitchers of pop or ice tea, and good thin crust pizza. Is it the best? That’s always subjective with pizza because everyone has their own choices with toppings and crusts. We like it a lot. We also like Old Chicago, so between the two, we eat more at Monicals because of the price. They have other items on the menu, great place for kids and you can be noisy and they don’t mind.

I love the new Point pizza too. It’s a great addition to their line-​up.

The absolute without-​a-​doubt best pizza in all the land! The thin-​crust pizza is cut into really small squares and just melts in your mouth! And while you’re waiting for your pizza, try the salad — but you’ve got to just pour on their signature French dressing like it’s going out of style. Oh, and you can’t leave without having an order of the breadsticks! It’s all so bad for you, but soooo good. Whenever you’re in the Peoria area, look up Monicals and give it a try — you’ll not be sorry that you did!
