Joe’s Hideaway Private Campground

There are very few places I have ever gone and where I have felt instantly comfortable, but this is one of them. I love this place. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing, clean. Very nice crowd. The owners, Joe and Rich, are fantastic.
Joe and Rich inherited a lot of problems when they bought this place. It had been closed for several years. (A foreclosure, I was told by another guest.) Camp sites had grown in. The infrastructure had been trashed. It’s amazing what they’ve been able to do in such a short time. As they continue to improve over time, I hope they continue to take their time and not overdo it. Don’t want them to burn themselves out.
One small concern I have is, since their seasonal sites have been in high demand, when someone needs to pull out, that they might divide these sites into smaller sites in order to accommodate more guests. It’s a delicate balance. Don’t want to lose the peace and quiet!
This is just what we’ve been looking for.

I’ve deleted by previous review. After visiting the place a few years in a row, I’ve decided not to go back. This place is a party scene. It is a campground with music thumping well into the night. There have been drunken fights, sex parties, etc. They built a «Shaft Shack» on the property. It shows you their commitment to sex and partying. Did I mention the sex party? Under the guise of supporting a good, upstanding organization, if you paid a certain amount of money (donated to that organization) you get a blow job. The clientele there do not or did not understand the reason for this CAMPGROUND to exist. Guys who have been long closeted and do not ever seek to be out in public would go to this place for sex and hookups and party atmosphere.

If this is what you like and look for, have fun. If you’re looking for a campground that is gay and clothing optional you may want to look elsewhere. I’ve had enough of the sex, drugs and part atmosphere.
