Going to thrift stores, to me, is like sifting through other people’s germs, junk, nightmares, and lives. There’s so many stories to be told at the thrift store and God only knows what you could contract.
This is a pretty cool place because the profits go to support Habitat For Humanity, which everyone considers a worthy cause (unless you’re one of the monsters who applauded Jimmy Carter having cancer).
What makes this place unique is that they don’t just have furniture and home goods, they also have some of the odds and ends left over from construction and renovation projects. I could have spent days there looking and dreaming up DIY projects. That is, if I wasn’t terrified of germs.
