I only visit this pharmacy once every month or two and I specifically use it because it is close to my home and it has a drive through. There is not one time that I have come here in the past four and a half years that I haven’t waited for at least 15 minutes, often times half an hour. I would not continue to visit this particular pharmacy if it were not for the drive through because I can’t think of many things worse to do to an ill and fevered child than to drag them into a store to stand in line waiting for this long! Additionally, once waited on I have to wait even longer for amoxicillin to be reconstituted. I can appreciate that the pharmacy is trying to prevent waste from customers who do not pick up medications, but amoxicillin is cheap– mix it and put it in the refrigerator– simple! The staff is generally kind, but there is an apparent lack of concern for customer service coming from the management of this pharmacy when the wait is consistently preposterous. The entire store was just renovated, could the pharmacy not have been re-vamped to allow for more staff to accommodate the obvious needs of their customers? I am such a fan of Giant Eagle, yet I am consistently disappointed by the pharmacy. I won’t even get started on why I am not permitted to purchase pseudoephedrine at the drive through despite offering my license. It isn’t even a controlled substance! Those– I am allowed to get at the drive through, even if it is someone else’s prescription! Total nonsense!
