Recently stopped into this location and was pleasantly surprised to see lots of great clearance priced clothing. After going through a rack of clearance pants with several brands, primarily Kuhl &5.11 Tactical we found a pair of the Kuhl pants in the correct size. Upon going to checkout with the pants and a pullover, there was no price tag on the pants so the cashier scanned another bar code which came up full price which was over $ 70, the sale price was clearly labeled on all the other Kuhl pants to be $ 35. It was pointed out to the checker who argued that that was the price that scanned so I went back to the same rack and picked up two of the same pants of the same style in different colors with the sale price tag. She argued that maybe those pairs were on sale but not the particular pair I wanted to purchase. I told her that the rack was filled with that brand so why would all of them but that one pair be on sale. She stomped back to that rack and then went to an entirely different area of the store with more Kuhl brand pants and told us that the pants I wanted were from THOSE pants which were not on sale. I told her I didn’t even know that display was there and I just wanted the pants I had picked out for the price marked, it is not my fault that the pants were on the wrong rack. I have worked in retail for years and many times have had to discount something because it was wrongly advertised or displayed. I know some people do try to rip stores off and switch tags but I am not like that and simply wanted these pants at the price they were on the display. I asked to speak with a manager and this older woman informed me that she was the manager(which I HIGHLY doubt) and she couldn’t just discount $ 70 pants and if we had a problem to call the corporate office. I was so frustrated by this experience that I may be completely done with Gander Mountain, there is a lot of competition for outdoor stores… Field & Stream, Cabelas, REI or just shopping on good old Amazon. Shame on me I guess for trying to support a local location of a company. I guess customer service is dead.
