I support Women’s Sports and the WNBA. The teams fortunes have improved under Mike Thiboux ‘s coaching, with playoff appearances for the last two years, this year they have to get past the first round. Still better than Trudi Lacey’s two year régime who ran the Charlotte Sting out of business and I was worried she was going to do the same here. The reason they don’t have a kiss cam is there are some families who attended along with the Gay community, and its tight line between the two. The team does have a «pride’ night as one of the WNBA’s initiatives. One nice thing it they have a table at the University of Maryland Women’s hoop games. I wish the rest of the league could do this, maybe make it «Be a women’s basketball fan for all seasons» post season initiative.

The Mystics are still not a stellar team but watching the game at Mystics Night Out on Tuesday 8⁄27 at the Acela Club with 9 of my friends was quite fun. The food was decent. the drinks were too expensive for what you get but the service was ok… it is more about friends and the atmosphere.

I’m not even a big sports fan… I just love the atmosphere and the chance to people watch. I love to hang out in the clubhouse, lots of female fans, good drinks and the food is pretty descent. I would go just to hang out! It was like going to A Pride event and yes everyone is friendly. I’m not even from the city but managed to run into people that I’ve met through this journey we call life! I also became friends with some regulars and met quite a few people! By far this is one of the coolest, most laid back events that I’ve been to in a long time. The Verizon center gets Kudos from me. Ok, as far as the team… They are the bomb and are worth the ticket price! They had a great season last year and although I no longer live in the city I’m still considering purchasing season tickets!

Okay, so I admit that I only got Mystics season tickets because I wanted a Caps playoff ticket. And, no, they don’t dunk. But, if you want to go to a sporting event at the Verizon Center, see players’ faces, not pay $ 80, AND only stand in line for 5 mins for softserve, go to a Mystics game. More pros: — The halftime entertainment is a total hodgepodge of craziness(the baton twirler, the trampoliine acrobats, I salute you!) — The Washington Mystics support a billion local charities — A player always comes out and thanks the fans after the game. Can the Caps say that? — Odds are good that you get featured on the jumbotron or win a prize pack. — Oh, did I mention that we’re one of the première teams in the WNBA? A few drawbacks: — Because ticket prices are low, many families bring their sullen-faced teenagers for some wholesome entertainment — No kiss-cam
