Washington Humane Society’s 2014 Sugar & Champagne Affair

A great evening of food, sweets, and good spirits. The event was well attended, well managed and a whole lot of tail wagging fun. This was an A-​one event. The food was delicious and the wine, champagne and liqueurs were flowing and wonderful.
I loved the venue as it was large enough to accommodate the attendees and allowed good flow from the VIP area through the general admission sections. The vendors did an AMAZING job. To repeat, all of the participating vendors did an outstanding job of providing tasty both human– and dog-​friendly treats. The decadence of the desserts was unrivaled. Their tireless teams were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their restaurant and offering.
A special «shout out» to the teams participating in the cake challenge, they were all so beautiful and well done. Their hard work in making these cake creations successful was evident in the final display.
The volunteer hosts/​hostesses were helpful and informative. Overall, it was well managed and that made it enjoyable from start to finish. There were so many dogs and they definitely added to the positive energy and ambiance of the event. Next year I am bringing my lab /​border collie mix Charlie.

Thank you Humane Society, vendors and volunteers for making this a successful and memorable event. I will definitely be back next year.

Eat dessert, drink champagne, check out irresistible pups all while benefitting the Washington Humane Society’s cause, which basically cancels out the champagne and dessert calories. Everything from check in to free flowing champagne, samples of sweet and savory bites from some of DC’s top restaurants was fantastic! Spotlight on our canine friends and my Charlie boy looked dapper in his bow tie and stole the show. Papparazzi and party goers wanting to say hi and pet him everywhere! Attention, making puppy friends, and treats galore– Charlie loved every minute of it!

EXCELLENT event and one that I will return year after year! The food and drinks were in abundance and seeing all of the dogs having fun made a great time for all. I loved the venue and all of the restaurants showed up with their A-​game! The Washington Humane Society staff were helpful and organized and everything seemed to go off without a hitch.
My dog enjoyed all of the attention from restaurateurs giving him treats, to fellow participants loving on him, to some canine friends he played with. Wonderful cause, excellent food and drinks, great people, and dedicated staff!

Fantastic venue for a worthy cause! This event was top notch from check-​in to the last morsel of food at the end of the night! There were too many restaurants to name and all serving samplings of their best. The pooches also strutted away with full bellies and wagging tails!
