These people are disgusting scam artists. I wish there was an option to give 0 stars. This business now operates as Innovision Concepts. The apartment was a complete $%&#hole, they tried to take a larger damage deposit than the law permits, they lied about the apartment in the ad, there are tons of maintenance issues, no one responds to your emails, and I am still trying to get my deposit back 50+ days after I moved out. I have sent them dozens of emails(to the property management company and to the owners of the building). Avoid them at all costs. I’ve taken them to small claims court once(as you can see from the court record search function, I’m not the only one who has done so) and it looks like I might be going back.

DONOTRENTFROMURBANESTATE. I rented an apartment from them and the experience could not have been worse. The house appeared to be in good shape, but we quickly discovered some serious problems, ranging from exposed wiring and faulty circuits to a completely non-functioning heating system(in the middle of winter). On this latter, we fought for nearly two months with our landlord to have a decent heating system installed, and when they finally deigned to have an electrician visit the house, he was incompetent and started not one but TWO electrical fires. They also tried to make us pay for the installation of a new system, in spite of our pointing out more than once that DC housing code mandates that the unit be capable of being heated to at least 68 degrees at all times. The leasing office was also unresponsive and they attempted on several occasions to charge me for late rent when I had paid days before. Living in this apartment was a constant struggle and I would not allow any of my friends to ever work with Urban Estate. Most importantly, Urban Estate is currently attempting to withhold my deposit and charge me over $ 1200 for«damages» which do not exist. This company is nothing more than scam artists and they will blatantly try to rip you off at ANY opportunity – throughout your lease as well as after you leave. On top of this, they are hostile, unresponsive, and evasive whenever a tenant tries to call them out on anything from basic demands(e.g. heat in the winter) to getting a significant deposit back. Don’t do it!
