Was in the neighborhood wanted to see why so many people are in and out of this place. I got the hungry man breakfast two pancakes eggs sausage and bacon and hash browns. The service was cool I waited about 10 mins for my breakfast. The hash browns were cooked a little too long but other than that everything was good. I will probably go back try something different.

Every neighborhood needs their mom and pop shop breakfast spot. Golden arches just don’t cut it all the time. Glad Anacostia can say they have one.(There are a few, very few.) This one is located on a main thoroughfare. Tony’s Place is a slight upgrade from the carryouts and corner stores that might make breakfast. From the outside(nice paint job), it’s hard to tell what the place really is without the presence of windows. Once inside, you actually see that there is one window on the front that looks out to Good Hope Rd and the 7 – 11 across the street. The staff here is diverse! How cute is that? Decent customer service to boot. They offer all of the breakfast favorites: waffle, pancakes, bacon/egg/cheese sammies, etc. Need a hot, quick breakfast in this area that lacks so much? Tony’s Place is the spot. Glad I could get here early enough to check out the place!

In a world of disappearing breakfast locations and in midst of ‘food desert’ this place is a treasure!!! Expect a josseling crowd but even before your first coffee you’ll find the food good enough to face the muddle. By the 3rd to 4th visit you’ll reach the status of a ‘regular’ which I really appreciate in morning hours. Breakfast is straight forward short order grill format with all the width and breadth of good american cooking… omelets…home fries… yyyy and cheerfully available thru day with old style steam table entry’s. As noted below the early closing hour(4pm) is regrettable but realistically the jossel and general atmosphere that is part of a qenuine breakfast place can’t really be sustained long into the day… BEFAIR… don’t expect 7 component coffee exotica and forgive the sterofoam… and ENJOY… you’ll be back

I have been here lots of times, the food is great and the service is excellent. The prices are affordable. They have all varieties of foods. I only wish that they had later hours.

I live around the corner, from here. I have been patronizing this place, since it opened, in 08. The food is good, prices are fair, and the staff/owner Grace, are always nice!

Tony’s Place just opened up not too far from my office. They have another location in the Petworth area. I love Tony’s Place. They have a huge variety of American-style items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, potato wedges, salads, yummy desserts, fruit mixes, fish, chicken, you name it. It’s not one of those questionable, seedy carry-outs, either. The food is delicious and inexpensive(my WHOLE lunch for under $ 4?!). This area is going to change a lot in the future — for better or worse, and I think that new restaurants moving in is a huge sign of the changes that are taking place. I only hope that restaurants like this will be able to thrive in the competition in the future.
