Ever since Patty Boom Boom closed, I have been wondering where I would get my Caribbean fix next. I heard about Club Timehri, but it would take me forever to get there because it’s all the way in Adams Morgan. I heard they’re free on Thursday nights, so I decided to take a spontaneous drive to it. It’s in a basement, and way smaller than Patty Boom Boom was… the bar is one half, and the other half is a dance floor. There were enough people to fill up the bar, so it wasn’t crowded at all. It was after 10 at this point, so I was surprised the turnout wasn’t more on the only free night… then again, Shondaland returned, the Democratic debate was on, and it was 20 degrees outside, so those probably contributed. They have AMAZING drink prices for DC and for nighttime, ranging from $ 3-$ 5 until midnight. They’re strong too… I just wish the rum punch was a special… it’s $ 10, but it’s authentic. The music is everything I hoped, so I just need to go there on the peak night to see it at its full potential.

Visiting from Cali and love a good reggae bar, good vibe, good music, bartender is sweet and best of all free Ciroc before 11 this Monday, which took me by surprise… a very good surprise. Thank you for making my trip a little extra amazing Timehri!!!

Pretty chill joint with reggae music playing. I liked their drink prices and they actually make them strong. Kind of a basement scene in there… but cool nonetheless.

Typical DC reggae spot. Kinda on the small side but it always provides a good time.

This spot is FIYA!!! Only for the true bashment reggae«I came to party and dance heads!» If that’s not you, then please stop reading and go somewhere else! We partied this weekend for my cuzo B day and it was on point from beginning end(11−3am for us). Reggae, dancehall, soca and drinks was on fleek! The club is small and yes it does get hot — SOWHAT — just party and have fun. Only 1 table for VIP and a good number of stools at the bar. Other than that you dancing or holding up da wall lol! We had Heinekens, mango martinis, Apple martinis and amaretto sours! The cups were small, but the liquor was 90% of that cup. Drink prices were like $ 4 before midnight but once you hit de dance floor, you ain’t going back to the bar… Ya whining up my friend! We will def return to Timehri and I hope you get a a chance to experience the nostalgia Brooklyn basement bashment party we did! Enjoy and have fun! Ohhhh yea don’t drive a truck or suv there as the parking lot is built for cars and the street are parked like downtown Manhattan!

It was OK. Great music. Not a fan of the small, tight and cramped space. Not much seating. We had a great bartender. Not sure if I’d go back.

Im visiting VA and checked this place out on a wed. there were 10 men and 3 women the entire night.(I counted) thats including the male DJ and female waitress. DJ was on point. he even played a request of mine. there was a lesbian couple dancing so that leaves the 1 woman who was the bartender. drinks where cheap, it ended up being me and 2 other men on the dance floor. Stay away from this place on a wed. Thurs, fri and weekends might be better. will NOT return on wed. willing to try a different day. I loved the dancehall music though.

What a dump. The music was alright but it was nasty and skeezy. They played a lot of hip hop and I waited for hours with no sign of Soca at all. Yes, there was dancehall, but… I had to bail.

I stumbled upon this place during a night of drinking in Adams Morgan. After being here, i feel like this is the best spot in Adams Morgan. Drinks are cheap before 12, free to get in before 12, nothing but reggae and dancehall is played, drinks here are really strong, and fellas there are a lot of beautiful women that are in attendance here. Great crowd and good staff. I will definitely be back here when i come to DC.

I normally find it against everything I believe in to pay a coverage charge at any Adams Morgan establishment as most aren’t cover charge worthy but I have to admit Timehri did not make me regret pulling out my cash. This is a great place if you want to go out, dance to some hip hop but mainly reggae and just have a good time. The place is a small little dungeon but with enough space for you to move about a bit. Best thing about it are people are here to dance and have fun, you don’t have 1000 people too cute to dance or standing against the wall holding it up, people are dancing, moving and grooving and enjoying themselves, that always adds to my fun when in any establishment. Drinks were my only concern, prices were decent, four drinks were less than 40 dollars but they give you baby cups, they could definitely be bigger with that said the bartender puts a nice amount of alcohol in that small cup, I had a vodka and cranberry that was damn near clear so I couldn’t complain too much. If you’re a fan of reggae and don’t mind going into the dark dungeon to enjoy it, then make that move to Timehri, it will be worth the cover.

love love love this place. If you are looking for great dancehall and caribbean dancing, then this is the spot for you. Best caribbean spot in town! Cover-10.00, drinks are great especially the Rum Punch, music– mostly new dancehall/soca hardly any hip hop, the owner is always there and is very friendly, I always have a great time when I go. Just like any typical Caribbean party, expect to dance til you sweat, dance and grind on random guys, and have fun.

I’ve been going to Timerhi’s for years and it’s one of my favorite places in all of DC. It is a no-frills spot. Unlike another reggae club that I will not name, it is blessedly hipster and drunk college student free. The drinks are cheap and strong. Very strong. In fact, sometimes a little too strong. But that’s ok. Alcohol makes me dance better, I believe. The music is amazing, always. The crowd is mixed age-wise and consists of a good sized group of loyal regulars. If you’ve never danced a day in your life, you will here. It is impossible to NOT have a good time.

Timehri is one of those places that will remind you of going to the soca/reggae parties of your youth. It always reminds me of a good Brooklyn basement party where you can be found whining with your partner on the wall sweating like crazy. It is a small club located in Adams Morgan where you have to walk down some steps to get to. They have a small bar with drinks averaging around $ 10, and there is no major dress code. If you want a glamorous night of partying, this is not your spot. This is a place to come and unwind while listening to some«bad tunes».

Took my husband here to celebrate Father’s Day/B-Day and had a great time. Great place to wind your hips to the sounds of dancehall. The club is tucked away in a basement setting… is small and can get packed and really hot but if you know and love reggae clubs then that is to be expected. I don’t know if there is a cover because the bouncer let us in for free which was a plus.

This is a really good spot for dancehall, roots, soca, with a sprinkle of hip hop. I been here before but I also went last night and because it was my sister and I’s birthdays the bouncer let us in for free! Its what I call a sweat box but what good reggae spot isn’t. The crowd is always mixed aged but always crowded. There are never any fights since I’ve been there so that’s always a plus for me. It’s a small venue but again any true reggae head knows the spots that play good reggae are always small.

Timheri is located on the Adams Morgan 18th street strip and nicely tucked away in a basement. The club has one long bar staffed by two sexy and friendly ladies. There is a good selection of drinks from from cheap Vodka, that give bastard headaches in the morning, to top shelf Cognac and Whiskey. Above the bar is a colorful notice board with drink specials and prices for eateries. If you arrive between 10pm to 12am expect the place to be sparsely populated. During this time I usually chill at the bar and get my drink on while the DJ is playing mostly 80s &90s dancehall with a few root vibes. Then pow, from 12am till close is power hour — 50% dancehall, 20% Roots/Rasta, 15% Soca, 10% top 40(nicely mixed with the dancehall) and then the rest Reggae and Blues scattered throughout. I think I lost three pounds my last time at Timehri. They have a very good sound system so expect to get good bass too. The dress code is on average casual chic and the crowd is diverse and real. Overall, a very very good time.

Every time me and my now fiancé have gone here, we’ve had an amazing time getting drunk and grinding to authentic reggae/dancehall/soca music spun in a cool, dark dive-y spot. Super cheap, no drama or pretentiousness, complimented by strong and decently priced drinks. What more can I say :)

Been a regular here for 6 years. Temehri is my go-to spot for dancehall reggae in the District, when I just wanna wine up mi body pon di dancefloor. It’s a small basement club that gets packed, hot, and sweaty– just how a dancehall club should be. DJs are always good, I would say it’s about 90% dancehall reggae and 10% soca. My drink of choice is Appleton(Jamaican rum) and coke and no matter who my bartender is my drink is served about 99% rum and 1% coke. Oh and it’s a Temehri rule that the bartenders are always female and always hot. Free before 11pm, $ 10 after.
