I’ve eaten some of the fanciest pantsiest chocolates and candies in the world. From Berlin to London to Helsinki to Brussels, I’ve sampled it all. And, I’ll be damned, but the Capital Candy Jar can hold its own against the big guys. It’s darn good.
My favorites? The chocolate dipped oreos. The chocolate dipped pretzels. And the barks. Is this naturally sourced, organic, hand raised, individually numbered, pretentious cocoa silliness? No, it’s not. It’s the stuff you grew up with, but better: it’s comfort candy, executed flawlessly (and very affordably). Very happy to have them in DC!

Yummmm Capital Candy Jar is SO DELICIOUS! They have marshmallows and divinity in all kinds of crazy flavors. I got a strawberry one and it was slightly too big for me to finish in one sitting, so I cut it up and floated it in my mocha latte the next morning — Best.Idea.Ever. The lollipops are my favorite, though. Nope, wait — the chocolate-​covered Oreos or the dipped pretzel sticks… I can’t choose! It’s all just SO GOOD! If you see them at a market, you MUST stop by! You can order online, too, but it’s much more fun to see all of the yummy candy in person. :)
