Sweetgreen, yes you, you make a mean green salad! This is my go-to sweetgreen for to-go lunches. Although I may see lines out the door from time to time, it just reassures me that this is THESPOT to be! To avoid the crazy lunch rush, I would suggest arriving a little before 11am — no lines, no worries! The workers here at this location, from my experience, have always been helpful and cheery! The process is pretty quick from the time you step inside their store. The menu is constantly in front of you, in all directions while you are in line, so you do not have to worry about picking out your choice before heading into the line. My go-to salad at the moment is «harvest bowl» and I happy that it is one of their«signature» item(which means it will be there year-round) The harvest bowl consist of: organic wild rice + shredded kale, apples, sweet potatoes, toasted almonds, local goat cheese, roasted chicken, balsamic vinaigrette — talk about YUMMERS! That’s if you have my palette for taste(which is high taste bud standards, IMO ;)) Although the«beets don’t kale my vibe» was a seasonal item, it was probably my GOAT(greatest of all time) sweetgreen salad! Definitely killed my vibe when it was taken off. In sweetgreen’s defense, you can always CUSTOMIZE your salad to your tasting — woohoo! I would recommend sweetgreen to anyone who works in the area and would like to stay on the healthy track. Sign up for their rewards program and pay via their app to accrue reward points! Spend $ 100 and get a free salad — trust me, all your visits will add up.

I have always liked Sweetgreen but the fist time I ordered in this place, I found a stone in my Salad. A real stone! I am really disappointed.

Originally, I always order online to avoid the lunch crowd! I always order the build your own salad(romaine, tofu, broccoli, corn, egg, cauliflower, spicy seeds n ranch), but lately the taste has not been consistent. So i’d rather come in store and make sure that my salad is made the right way. Otherwise, the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced! I still like them better then Chop’t!

Sweetgreen generally is delicious. This location is pretty good, considering the demands of its surroundings. I have not noticed the same issues others have during lunch in re: badly done salads. In fact, the only time I have noticed this is on off times like the weekend, when the employees seem high and can’t seem to understand words. One time they forgot chicken in my kale ceasar, but come on. Missing ingredients isn’t cancer yall. During lunch they seem to be on their game mainly. The line is right tho. Order to go for lunch unless you can get there by 1140 when the line gets redick. That isn’t sweetgreen’s fault tho.

I just picked up a salad from this location and it had multiple pieces of very raw — totally pink — chicken in it. I have tried calling the store, but the answering service says they dont pick up the phone during the day and they do not check the voicemails. I have tweeted at Sweetgreen and emailed the main Sweetgreen inbox(that is the only option for all locations and corporate for contacting the company). I do not have time to go back over there as I am at work, but the location needs to be notified ASAP so other customers do not receive the raw chicken. Also, for a food service company Sweetgreen should be more responsive and have a way for someone to speak with someone at the store location. It has been about an hour since I picked up the salad and about 45 minutes since I first tweeted and emailed the company. I have not yet heard anything.

I’m giving this four stars because I come to this location almost once a week – the one star off is because I went today and upon arriving back at work, found a pretty large chunk of hair in my salad. This place is ALWAYS stellar but this is really disgusting and I don’t have time to go back due to lunch hour scheduling – PLEASE wear hair nets when prepping the food!

I stopped in this afternoon in hopes of getting a frozen yogurt — having been a Sweetgreen frozen yogurt fan from the beginning. I was informed that they no longer sell it at this location because«not enough people were buying it.» Come on. .. a Sweetgreen store without frozen yogurt is not really a Sweetgreen store.

Like most people, I am always striving to become a better me. After all if you do better, you live better. Part of this mission requires eating healthier. When you work in the city, healthy options can be few and far between. That’s why I feel lucky to have not one, but two, Sweetgreen locations near my job. This one is the one I frequent more often though, because it’s bigger. Word to the wise, avoid Sweetgreen between the hours of 12 noon and 1 pm if you do not want to wait in a long line. Off peak hours will have you in and out! I usually order their Kale Caeser salad and substitute the dressing for oil and vinegar. Another nice perk is that you can add bread to your salad order free of charge. As noted by other reviewers, I’ve never had any problems with the staff. They’ve been nice, and receptive whenever I’ve asked for substitutions. You won’t spend less than $ 10 at this eatery, but you get what you pay for — a fresh, hearty salad.

You can’t beat the guacamole greens salad. Friendly place, very crowded. Expect to wait in line.

I go here when I want to «eat healthy» and I forgot to bring lunch with me to work. They had this bomb seasonal salad that I’d have with baby spinach, almonds, chicken, strawberry and goat cheese but they don’t have it anymore. Booooo. Too expensive for a salad too. But the staff is nice and quick.

Thought I could order the kale salad as pick-up. My order was ready but the salad was incomplete no lime was added and I was shortchanged on the salad dressing. Salad was very dry. Never again will I order takeout…

This critique is about the location at 19th and L. I love sweet green, and as a proud Georgetown alum I will continue to support their business in other locations. The service at 19th and L during lunch hour is just simply atrocious. I am sure they luck out because of the location, but I hope management will look into these negative reviews as I believe I am not the first one to mention it. In order to keep the line moving quickly, I notice that the servers fail to mix the salads properly — just more of a «dump the salad in the mixing bowl and then squeeze it into the container.» Also, there have been several times when my salad was not packaged into the container well and there was dressing dripping off the side that the server didn’t even bother to wipe off when the salad was given to me. My experience here has just made the salads unappetizing. And I will never return to this location. Try CHOPT just a block away which has far better quality of ingredients and service.

I love sweetgreen, and eat it at least 3 – 4 times a week for lunch. This critique is nothing about the quality of sweetgeen itself, but rather about the 19th& L location. The service at the 19th and L location seems to be incredibly bad during the lunch rush hours. Each time I visit this location, my food is looked over for the sake of moving the line more efficiently. The first time, my salad was not mixed, and all my vegetables were in the bottom of the bowl, and my dressed was at the top with my greens. The second and third times my orders were messed up. Last time I visited, they put the wrong dressing on the salad. I always order a salad off the menu, so the servers should know which dressing goes on which salad. This time, the food prep. person put beets and tofu in my salad, which i requested my salad to be without, and then hand picked them out of the salad, then put in the wrong substitution which I asked for in my initial order, and then as she was picking out the beets and tofu. While this location is most convenient for me, I will be traveling the few extra blocks for better service.

Best toppings and dressing(lime cilantro) and top fast casual salad spot in DC metro. I use the online ordering which is well executed.

Everything is good for you and good tasting, you won’t ruin your diet eating here. Service is always pleasant but the lines are always out the door, so bring your patience hat. Can’t go wrong with the kale cesar or the housemade lemonade.

Can someone explain to me what is up with every person in the DC metro forking over $ 11 for a really average salad? If the salads were good, I’d be all over a place like sweetgreens or chopt. In complete sincerity, you’d be better off with a pre-packaged Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods Salad – in both the flavor and financial departments. Additionally, they make it right in front of you, it’s not like there’s some mysterious element nagging at you, «How are these salads so green, so sweet?!» Frankly, they aren’t. My guacamole greens salad was completely lacking in the flavor and texture department. Yes, toss the salad – but please do not just mash everything into the same unidentifiable flavor and texture. Part of what’s nice about a salad are different flavors and textures coming together. If it wasn’t for the very lovely companion I ate this salad with, or the fact that I was very hungry– I’m not convinced that the outing was at all worth it.

Eww. I had the warm earth bowl today after not having tried it for a year. GROSS. FALSEADVERTISING: –it wasn’t warm –grains now = only quinoa(before it was a mixture of farro, barley, etc. i think) also this is a nitpick, but the chunks of american white cheddar didn’t help either. with some mouthfuls, all i got was room-temperature cheese. if you’re a cheese fiend, i guess that’s ok, but to me, it was gross. i should have gotten the kale caesar. damn it!

I honestly don’t get what the obsession is with SweetGreen. Almost everyday there’s a line out the door at this location and a 15 – 20 minute wait. Yes, it’s a good healthy option but it’s not the best healthy joint in town — especially for the average price of $ 11 for a salad. I’ve had their Santorini and Chic P salads. The falafel in the Chic P was dry and flavorless. I liked the Santorini but would’ve liked more veggie toppings in both salads like cucumbers and carrots(not sure if it’s additional to add these). Like I said, it’s a decent healthy lunch option and I like that it’s locally sourced but I have a hard time justifying the price for what you get.

After two days of comfort food finally had to have some healthy food. Wife and I didn’t want to weigh ourselves down with a long day of sightseeing ahead of us. On the recommendation of Shannon B from Seattle(thanks Shannon) we decided to try Sweetgreen. I had the seasonal salad which had chilled citrus shrimp, alfalfa sprouts, carrots, raw seeds, sriricha, cilantro, red onions, cucumber & mesclun with a lime cilantro jalapeño dressing. Believe it or not it was very good. Wife had the Misoba Salad with chicken. For a little energy for the rest of the day I also had their carrot juice. No Starbucks needed after this lol. FYI. I was told by one of the staff that they are expanding to NYC on 23rd St and Broadway this summer.

Closed their doors before 7PM. They weren’t even supposed to be closed at 7PM! Unilocal site says 8PM. Unilocal spidey-sense is strong. Questionable.
