This is creepy going there. This is where the 1997 murders took place when some guy tried to rob them. He killed 3 people in the backroom. Maybe that’s why the employees are cranky?

Wow, speechless. The staff here have terrible attitudes. Reading through Unilocal reviews written through the years about this place, I’m appalled they continue to hire incompetent people with no understanding of basic human decency.

Very bad experience here last night around 7 pm. Barista seems very angry… I wonder if someone at Starbucks or Safeway should reach out to him and see if he is OK. Seems really unhappy for some reason…

I had a terrible experience here. It takes a lot to really piss me off. Please see below as to what happened: Walked in to Safeway and wanted to drink as I do my grocery shopping. I am the only one there but I am standing quite the distance because I was not ready to order yet. Debating if I should get a cold or hot drink. Then the young black Starbucks barista says«are you just going to stand there and look at me or are you going to order something?» I thought he was joking since people who work are Starbucks are REALLYCOOL like that. So I told him I wasn’t ready yet. Then he went about his business with his clipboard doing his checklist. Finally, I said I would like a Tall Java Chip Frappucino. Without saying anything he just begins making it without ringing me up first, but that doesn’t matter to me– it’s fine either way. I watched him make a the drink– he was good and particular and even gave me Java Chips on top of my whipped cream. I thought, cool he must have been joking because he isn’t just throwing my drink together. He is actually making it right. Then I he gave me a drink and rang me up. I have a Starbucks Gold Card and at locations inside Safeway/Target/etc it’s always different. Sometimes you give it to them, sometimes you swipe it yourself, etc. So I slid my card and pressed Debit/Credit. I noticed that was requiring a signature so I cancelled it; I knew I pressed the wrong option. Then I asked him if they take Starbucks Cards.(Yes there are places that don’t such as Starbucks inside a BX in Nellis AFB) Me: «Do you guys take Starbucks Cards?» Him: «There’s a Gift Card button there ain’t it?» Me: Looks up in disbelief thinking«AREYOUFREAKINGSERIOUS» in my head. He gives me a look right back as if I was wrong for asking. Swiped that darn thing and left. As I was walking away there is now an elder white male asking a question before he ordered and I already heard him giving attitude. I had to walk away. still shocked. NOHELLO, NOTHANKYOU, NONOTHING. At least the drink was not bad. I’m definitely not going back to this Starbucks OR this Safeway. To the guy working there: If you hate it so much, find another job. Find one that does not deal with customers. If you had a bad day, don’t take it out on people. To the management: Obviously this is not the first time people have issues with the Starbucks staff so maybe you should do something. I still have my recipe that has the time and date on when this happened so if you want to narrow down which employee was rude.

24 hours… Too bad I have yet to see it open at all. The register is open and there are treats in the glass cases. There’s people sitting in the café section working on laptops. But no sign of an employee and definitely no drinks in sight. The excuse I’ve consistently gotten is that the person failed to show up to work or was running late. Quality service there Safeway and Starbucks. Maybe you should have the employee set-up and take-down the sandwichboard out front advertising«Starbucks is open 24 hours». Then it wouldn’t be false advertising and get my hopes up for some hot coffee past 9pm.

Biggest problem with this sbux is the cleanliness. Since it is open 24hrs it attracts many homeless people who dirty the tables and trash the bathrooms. Some of these guys should be under psychiatric observation, yet they are stone cold chillin at the sbux sprawled out and watching tv like kings. I think some guys are actually living there… This safeway has a substandard ventilation system and all of the kitchen odors accumulate near the bathrooms and the starbucks area. It is nauseating at times. That mixed with the odor of rancid peepee and other bodily fluids from the homeless contention makes for a compromising ecology. The starbucks staff is great. I know they put up with a lot. If it’s very late, like 3am, you might have a hard time finding them.

Not really all that fantastic. I think they need better trained employees. It is open 24⁄7 which is great but if the drink made at 3am isn’t the same as the one I get at 4pm there is a problem. My regular latte was made horribly and I didn’t have the heart to tell the young guy that it was wrong. He was having a difficult time. All in all it’s a great idea… get yourself a latte and shop while you sip. Sounds good. Execution needs some work.

Safeway Starbucks! Free Wifi, nice staff, oodles of secret space with huge windows and a TV!!! You heard me — a TV in the seating area! There’s even outdoor seating overlooking Wisconsin Ave. There aren’t a lot of outlets, but there are some, and there’s a microwave for some reason I haven’t quite figured out yet… And now that I’ve read Martin’s review touting 24 hour service, I love it even more. Glee!

Well, it’s a Starbucks. It’s inside the Safeway, and it’s open 24⁄7. Yes, 24 hours seven days a week. I think that’s unheard of for a Starbucks in the DC area. The employees working here ’round midnight were quite friendly, and even though the barista messed up and gave me a normal drink instead of decaf she was more than happy to correct it. Other than that it’s your typical Starbucks fare, and it seems people either love it or hate it.
