Starbucks needs to add double the workers here! That will also increase their sales. Always a long line!

It fails me as to why people choose customer service careers, if they don’t know what it means or take pride in providing good customer service. Walked in here this afternoon for a quick cup of coffee & a snack. A store associate decided now would be a good time to stock gift cards, thereby blocking my access to the employee at the register taking my order. Rather than move to one side, he remained firmly planted in front of the register, and smugly said«excuse me», I guess to indicate I was in HIS way, even though I was trying to order with my hands full and unable to approach the register. I was somehow able to pay while reaching around him, and managing to hold on to my items. I politely asked the employee at the register for a bag, because I already had my hands full, and she made a face as if this was he biggest inconvenience of her life… as previous customers said, this location is an embarrassment to the Starbucks chain.

This 2-story starbucks is a gem for its surprisingly big space. The second floor holds a bunch of tables and outlets to accommodate people looking for a place to study/work or just a spot to enjoy a sip of coffee while charging that iPhone. While the baristas were pretty quick and friendly, I found the coffee to be more watered down than usual. And that’s never good for someone who is trying to get some work done on a long day.

Here is why I am upset with this location: they are always out of items. More than two times now I have ordered thru the mobile app(which usually tells me when a location is out of stock) a mozzarella panini sandwich and other items. Twice now they don’t have it and has asked me to choose something else. Today I said no, just give me my refund. They also don’t have the green stoppers that prevent your drink from spilling. This location is my least favorite. It’s always busy, it’s not clean, and there is always someone upstairs sleeping in it. You order on the mobile app and they take their sweet time. I could have stood in line and had to wait the same amount of time. What is the point of the mobile app? I really don’t like giving any business a one star review but this location needs to get their act together. Where is corporate? This is a busy DC location in the middle of Chinatown. This Starbucks is hurting themselves.

Yung Gun Anthony… thank you for stepping away briefly from your customers to make sure I was in the right direction for my pizza excursion. I popped my head in to get some quick 411& Anthony gave it to me. He asked me to wait a second, juggled a few orders, & came back to me make sure I was good… that I was. Note to self, stop back through after my downtown trekking to see if he’s working. 6 hours later, here I was & there he is. So this time, we placed an order & I waited for the Ladies Room. Geesh, the wait felt like it was a ½ hour, yet finally became available. Yet NOT usable! Big Ant, was to my rescue yet again, as he not only restocked, he darn sure refreshed. For me & my extreme OCD, I whole heartedly appreciated his effort to go beyond his latte duties. Everyone else seemed to be smiling walking out the door or going upstairs, so he must be doing some right with his customer skills. Theres thousands of SB locations worldwide, yet for me, which ever location I visit, & I am taking care of in an overly & greatly manner, it’s noted. Anthony, you’re noted, THANKS.

I love the crew here. They made me smile immediately by remarking upon how intensely I said my name, «JUstin!» Apparently they were quoting one of their own favorite co-workers that always says, «that’s a good name for a coffee!!!» I asked excitedly what the stairs were there for, and this guy said real chill… «Oh, there’s more seating up there.» And I gave him a look like. «What?! Why that’s better than Christmas!!!» And I ran up like a school child. He laughed. Everyone up here… They’re all reading or on their laptops. Honestly I can’t find any coffee. I feel like I’m the only one drinking coffee. Mind you this is probably one of the worst iced coffees I’ve ever had… But when has that ever stopped me from coming to Starbucks?! DC baby!!!

Co-workers recently told me that this Starbucks has gotten better so I decided to return for a look-see. It was 2 weeks before Christmas and the Muppet’s rendition of the 12 days of Christmas was playing in the background. The two gentlemen behind the register were moving the lines along and putting in an effort to be upbeat. They hand waved customers forward, greeted customers, and confirmed orders energetically. They still spelled my name wrong and still forgot to apply my Starbucks app code but this time, they acknowledged the mistake and corrected it. These are marked changes and deserve an updated review. Hope to see continued improvements.

I love Chinatown. This store is located in the heart of Chinatown & downtown DC. There are two floors to sip coffee and visit with friends. The employees are friendly. I love sitting at the window and people watching. This is one of my favorite Starbucks stores.

I walked into Starbucks to kill some time since I beat my friends into the city by about half hour. The place was a little busy but the ordering process was quick. I try to order a skinny peppermint mocha extra hot but I was informed that they had no sugar free mocha??? Wtf??? I then decided to get a skinny vanilla latte extra hot, which is my go to order. The order came up before the traveler came out of the bathroom that I got the code for. The plan was to use before my order came up. No Bueno. It was so hot I decided to step outside for a few minutes to cool the back sweat that was rolling down my back. I came back in to finally use the bathroom and omg it was disgusting. Someone released holy hell and it seemed the masses to include me would pay.

Really like this location. Quick and very nice employees. I like the upstairs as it can be a cool area to just chill.

For an incredibly busy location, I think the service is fairly solid. I appreciated that my iced tea wasn’t 90% ice, 10% tea like at some locations(*cough* Columbia Heights), and the wait wasn’t unreasonable given how many people were ahead of me. My main problem is that the upstairs seating, while pretty plentiful, was really dirty: a lot of trash on the tables and chairs strewn about seemingly at random. They should look after the seating area more.(Though really, people should just clean up after themselves.)

Corner of the busy Chinatown intersection with upstairs seating overlooking the Chinatown friendship arch/busy intersection of 7th and H. Always busy and has a second floor with seating and outlets. However, I would strongly advise avoiding this location if you are looking for a place to do some work with WiFi because the WiFi, like everyone else mentioned, is sooo slow and unreliable. I was there for an hour and ended barely getting Google to load, and couldn’t get much done. Bottom line: Avoid here for doing work! Wifi is terrible. Good place for a quick chat or quick grab and go.

I ordered 2 different drinks, read right off their menu; «Sorry, we don’t have that» Really? Not even«Sorry, we are out.» Or «try this instead» It was: «Come back tomorrow« Customer service? Not here

Location… close to Chinatown, but relatively safe. Competency… both knew how to enter in a promo code(the MCO airport Starbucks were baffled by this) and they knew how to make a drink from the secret menu(the Carmel cocoa cluster was diabetically delicious) and efficient. The location was in Chinatown and the main are was small(but there was an upstairs) and that was the only thing that I could fault them for.

Service here has quickly gone downhill, while I never expected service with a smile here, I always appreciated the level of efficiency with which they operate. Not only has this place become far less efficient than it used to be, the employees are downright rude, yelling at customers. The drinks are average so given the increase in small coffee shops in the area, I don’t intend to cone back by here anytime soon.

Not worth the bucks If you are just grabbing Starbucks on the go, stop by. But if you are looking to do work, I do not suggest this location. There is an upstairs, but this Starbucks has a weak internet connection(soooo slow). Between the bustle around Chinatown and the lack of connection, you won’t get anything done.

The interaction between the staff and the customers is really sad. I fell like I could have a better customer service experience getting a cup of coffee from a street cart. The cashier didn’t say a word and so I told her my order, simple as simple can get: blonde roast with cream and sugar. Hands me a black cup of coffee and when I asked uh I wanted cream and sugar And she points(no words) points to the«serve yourself» creamer and sugar. I really don’t mean to sound«uppity» but I just asked for cream and sugar. At any other Starbucks they put it in for you, try to upsell you on a bakery item or one of their cool new drinks or ask you do you really want cream? We have new coconut milk, ask you about your morning, or what you’re up to today lol SOMETHING. Nope, no words. Unless I have to go back here for some odd reason, I won’t be.

I guess this morning around 8am the store Manager was having a bad day because IMO she was barking at employees that just is not professional to me. There did seem to be a young female that was taking the brunt of her«Why?» «Why?» «Why?» questioning. While she did seem to be lost… reprimand her in private or better yet give her constructive guidance. My drink we made by the«old head» there & finished off by the tall gentlemen with dreads & it was awesome!

A quick stop for Internet and to upload my pictures from today to Picasa and elsewhere. I hate not having things backed up, so I popped into this Starbucks to plug my laptop in, download the images from my camera, put some power into my phone and maybe grab a coffee. On the ground level, a standard layout for Starbucks with coolers filled with drinks and pastries. Quick service from the barista. There are only one or two tables downstairs. The rest are upstairs(a LOT of stairs), where I did manage to find an unoccupied table(the others looked like they’d been there for a while) though my power outlet was non-functional. This is a VERY easy Starbucks to find. It’s right next to the big arch to welcome you to Chinatown.
