Stand & Snack has to be one of downtown DC’s best secrets. I’m not giving it 5 stars because it’s gourmet(though it is very good), but because the mix of price and quality is all but unmatched downtown. Breakfast is the best in town at under $ 5, and lunch isn’t far behind. Simple sandwiches are done right — good tuna, egg salad, even a slightly different take on the turkey rueben works out right. They also have chips, bars, snacks, food for kids, desserts like carrot cake or cheesecake, fresh fruit — so much more than you’d expect from what amounts to a hole in the wall inside a 12 story office building. It’s basically drive-thru pricing, but made to order preparation. My favorite place in town for a quick bite or to take something back to the office.

It’s my go to place for lunch when it’s raining out or too cold outside to go very far. it’s no frills and the sandwiches are priced right. The drinks are a little overpriced and the smoothies are almost always near the expiration date so with that said … Just stick to sodas and sandwiches.

Like everyone said, it’s tucked away. For decoration there is nothing fancy about this place, bottom floor with no windows, old school seating and tables, they serve American breakfast and lunch. I had their croissant sandwich with eggs and ham this morning and it was great. It ran me about $ 3.85 with tax which isn’t too hateful. I love how their shop has all the snacks you want from chips, candies, sodas, juices, and red bull! Like the others said its a ma and pop kinda store and they are friendly too. I would definitely try to grab lunch there. They also have lunch specials posted on the walls.

I’ve been reading the reviews and Sarah O. I’m not sure when you last visited by Stand and Snack has been accepting credit cards for at least 7 months now. You may be confusing this place with Cornerstone. I am a fan of Stand and Stack. They provide an excellent breakfast at a reasonable price. The service is wonderful. They know what I want when I walk in the door. It’s amazing they can have so many customers and remember exactly what they ordered. You will enjoy the food, the service, and you won’t be hurting money wise when you leave.

Stand and Snack is just one of those places that you wouldn’t expect to find in the bottom floor of an office building, but it really is a gem! Like the others have mentioned, it’s in the back of an office building, but they have a sign out front. Just walk in(you don’t have to stop at the security desk) and through the door near the elevators. Stand and Snack is straight back and to the left(there are signs to guide you, but you can’t miss it). Your nose will help you lead the way. The menu is pretty extensive if you are looking for a sandwich or sub. They always have different specials posted on the wall too. I just recently tried a breakfast sandwich and home fries and it was really good! The home fries were pretty flavorful and not dry. They also have a large selection of juices, sodas, chips, candy and other munchie snacks to get you through the long work week. Prices are extremely reasonable too. It’s definitely worth checking out!

Tucked away inside this office building is the little known Stand and Snack. Don’t be intimidated by the guard or the elevators, just keep walking straight into the building, past the mailboxes, and towards the loading dock. This is a mom-and-pop store that’s stuck in the 70’s with chairs in beige, olive, orange, and brown colors. Compared to Café Express(see ), Stand and Snack is far better bargain. Whereas a breakfast sandwich would cost you $ 2.95 across the street, it only costs you $ 2.25 here. To give you an idea of how cheap everything is, a ham and cheese sub is $ 4.99(plus tax) and a BLT is $ 3.50. Just remember that Stand and Snack is cash only. [Last Visit: April 2, 2009]

After searching for a new place to find quick food around my office, I came across the stand and snack(refer to jack’s famous deli review). Where I spent $ 12.30 on breakfast at Jack’s Famous Deli on a cruddy meal, I only spent $ 4.80 here. I even actually enjoyed my breakfast. It’s not the easiest place to find because it is inside a building, through an unfurnished cooridor, and around the corner. It’s pretty much a hole in the wall, but it’s pretty good. The toasty english muffin(toasted-not-burnt), perfectly melted ooey gooey cheese, and delicious breakfast sausage patty was worth my $ 4.80. Actually, the $ 4.80 even included a drink. In terms of food & prices, for a breakfast & lunch only carryout deli, this one is the best one on the block.
