I consider myself a pretty good taster of my favorite food-Fried Chicken. I’ve had lots of carry out for wings, and No-One can beat Sharks! It’s fresh, normal sized fried wings, unlike these carryout that have those enormous wings that can’t be real. Eat Sharks!

This is my mom’s go-to spot for fresh fried fish and wings. Most of the family members love the fried whiting(and wings) but I love the fried tilapia, it’s always delicious! I recently had their yellow rice, which was also very tasty.

We’ve really been looking for good fried chicken. I’ve had good J&J in Chicago but it’s drought in DMV for decent fried chicken. The place is definitely take-out not really sit in pretty. We got fried whiting & fried chicken both came with fries. The fried chicken are whole wings so be prepared for the portions. You can feed three people easily. Fresh, crunchy chicken wings. I got the Whiting because they were out of catfish, I regret that decision. The whiting was dry and bland and I just don’t think that’s the fish for me. I look forward to trying their catfish. The place was good overall. Good customer service, the owner was pleasant. Chicken is on point. The order was ready quickly and we didn’t call ahead. I’ll be back again.

I am going to have to give them 5 stars not only because the food is the but the establishment is clean and the service was amazing! This was my second time here and wanted to try something different. I was skeptical about the gizzards. He had his cook fry me 2 to taste. They were excellent hot, fresh and well seasoned! Gotta try this place of you are every anywhere close!

Sharks Fish & Chicken originates from southside Chicago, offering fried fish, chicken, combo meals, and desserts. I was surprised that a location opened up on Minnesota, so the hubs and I came here to check it out. I tried one of their 2-piece combo — the fried catfish and the 3-piece chicken wings; this came slightly dusted with lemon pepper powder(they automatically sprinkle the lemon pepper, so if you’re not a fan, just tell them when you order!). The catfish was fresh, with a thin batter, and good with the hot sauce. The chicken wings, while crispy, were just okay. The coleslaw was pretty tasty and fresh, and the fries were pretty okay. I also tried their Pizza Puff — I believe it was Il Taco, but it was a little undercooked; this also came with a large generous plate of fries. Their ½ and ½, slightly similar to Hip Hop’s, was a little refreshing, as there was little ice in the drink T___T Service was pretty efficient, and the staff were friendly. This is more of a carry-out joint, as thee were a few tables and some chairs to sit down while waiting for your food. Don’t forget to pick a token up at the front(by the ½ and ½ container), as that is what you need to get out of the gated parking lot. +automatic sprinkling of lemon pepper(if you’re not a fan, request for none when paying) +fresh fried catfish +need a token to get out of the parking lot

So being in NEDC I’m overcome by the urge to eat fried chicken. While seafood in DC isn’t normally a choice I make due to the quality of seafood at most place I’m impressed by the food I ordered today. The shrimp was great, and the chicken tenders were really good. The catfish was ok but was under seasoned. I liked the fried but no ranch for the wings/tenders/fries :(

I couldn’t wait to go to church today to thank God for Unilocal.I was hungry the other day and did a search for«chicken wings». Don’t judge me because if you’re reading this you might have done the same thing. Anyhoo, when I saw«Sharks» I was skeptical because I knew it was a Chicago based restaurant. To my surprise it was indeed the same place! Like my other fellow Chicagoan reviewer, Melanie G., we neeeed mild sauce in our lives. It’s one of things you miss about living in Chicago. However, when I went to pick up my order they were out. No worries, there will be some there later next week and I’ll be back. I also love its location… totally has a 63rd& Halsted feel complete with quarter juices and Mistics being sold. I got a fish(catfish filet) and chicken wing combo with lemon pepper seasoning and it was everything I remembered. Just be sure to ask for extra seasoning if that’s your thing because they were a little frugal with the sprinkle. The fries are good too.

Phone your order in and take it to go. –dirty tables, check –broken restroom, check –TV loud enough for the fry cook to hear, check –vagrant begging for money, check Food is good. Real fish(skin still on) in large portions. Nice tasty breading. Bottom line is they really don’t want you to stay and eat so don’t.

If this shark had been a snake I would have been bitten long ago. As a Washington native who has been away for awhile I had never heard of sharks fish & chicken and was reluctant to let someone screw up two of my favorite dishes. Shot out to Melanie G her review convinced me to give it at try. I of course got the chicken and fish combo and it was outstanding. I must have passed by the place a least a hundred times kicking myself for having missed out for so long. If your hungry and looking for a satisfying meal give them a try. I now have a new chicken joint so long KFC!

As a Chicago native, I was so excited to hear about Sharks coming to DC! Sharks is a popular fish & chicken spot in Chicago and I’ve been in DC for a few years now and haven’t been able to find a fish place that even remotely compares to Sharks. I got the fish and chicken dinner and it was everything I could have ever imagined. SOGOOD! They even have Mild Sauce(a token Chicago sauce. much better than Mumbo sauce! Try it!) The prices ARE higher than the Sharks back in Chicago, which sucks. Maybe they didn’t think Chicago natives would notice. I live in downtown Silver Spring and I’ll definitely travel the distance for Sharks. One of the best fish places in DC.
