Shake Shack

First, you can read the other reviews regarding their food. Delish, no doubt. My five stars come simply from this: Three employees opened up this location on Sunday January 24 with the streets not cleared and no metro service. The place was packed. Those three employees were AMAZING. THANK YOU for being open and providing much needed sustenance and variety to those of us stuck in DC. The three of them were pumping out burgers and fries like mad and were still smiling and cheerful.

I think dupont circle location for shake shack is way better than tysons. Im not sure why but i guess it has more tables and better service. I tried the chicken shack and it was better than chickfilla! It was crispy and crunch! Try it!

Well, finally the Fried Chix Sandwich has arrived. I had moderate expectations, every burger/​fast casual spot seems to have one. This one was really something special. Perfect toppings and awesome crunchy crust. I was surprised it was a breast and not thigh, but was tender and moist and seasoned nicely, also larger then I expected.
I probably will never order their burger again.
Great addition to the menu.

NEVER AGAIN I am still steaming thinking of this experience
I had never been to this location even though my office is practically across the street, so I decided to give it a try. Worst. Service. Ever.
I walked in at about 11:40am and I was the only customer there. There was a lady and a gentleman standing behind the register, (not really facing it) looking at some paperwork and a bunch of other employees most of whom were standing around doing nothing aka playing with their phones. I waited for a good 45 seconds-​a minute waiting to be greeted before I finally greeted them myself. I asked if they were open and then they said yes and then continued to ignored me! I was shocked!!! I waited another second and then had to speak up again and asked if I could place my order and the lady answered «I don’t have a drawer yet»…and continued to ignore me AGAIN. I couldn’t even at that moment. I’ve worked in restaurants so I know that means she hadn’t put her money in the register yet, but I am the customer I don’t need to know nor care about that… HELLO PEOPLE I am trying to give you my money… she shot me a nasty look and I voiced my unhappiness to them and said I was pretty shocked at the bad service to which the gentleman apologized and lead the lady away. I could tell she was getting ready to say something else, and that probably would not have been good. Barbara then stepped up and apologized and took my order and she was very friendly.
I am the catering manager for my firm and use a lot of restaurants in the DuPont area so this food was actually for a meeting. While I was waiting for it I saw employees standing around and one girl had her phone back in the meal prep area gross! I definitely will never be returning and will not consider using them again when I need lunch for a meeting.
Disappointing.

I’m a bit torn on my rating. I like their shakes and new chicken sandwich; but their fries are boring and the customer service is awful. I would not choose to come here, but if someone wanted to, I probably would not object.
I went twice over a period of a four or five days. I’d probably been once before this, but do not really recall. The first time, I did not get what I asked for at all, and since I actually handed the cashier a written piece of paper, with very neat writing, I was shocked. However, my friend enjoyed his burger and my salted caramel shake (frappé) was good.
I went back to try the new chicken sandwich. Again, my order was wrong, and I did not feel like going back to the register, as when the woman took my order, I could just tell it was going to be wrong. So the chicken sandwich is good – really crisp, tender chicken. I drowned my fries in ketchup and hot sauce, and still thought they were bland. I also got the same shake this time, and again it was good.
Needless to say, I’m still on the hunt for a place that can get everything right: fries, chicken sandwich, and shakes.

The burgers and fries have always been first rate. The fries, always hot crisp and brown.
Now a chicken sandwich has been added to the line up.
Crisp light batter on white meat chicken paired with a buttermilk sauce.
Shake Shack does it again.

I really wish I can say that I enjoyed my burger but I didn’t. It was really salty and I thought it may have been salty because I ordered the shake stack, but I tasted my husbands burger and it was also as salty. If the burger wasn’t over salted, I think it would have been perfect. It was a waste of a perfect burger compared to the shake shack at Madison square which had well seasoned burgers.

Let it be known, I am not the biggest fan of burgers. I only eat one type of beef burger and that burger can be found at In-​N-​Out and it’s a rare occasion when I decide to have one. Had my boyfriend not been traveling with me, I would have probably missed out on the shake shackin’ experience. Not going to do much comparing, but maybe just a bit.
Food: I ordered the single shack burger, crinkle cut fries and a black & white shake. I paid a few cents under $ 15. The beef was delicious and I don’t even like beef. Extremely juicy, simple, yet delicious. Who am I right now? The quality of the meat is definitely higher than the beef found at In-​N-​Out. The buns however weren’t my favorite, they were very soft and chewy (kind of stuck to the roof of my mouth). The burger was a lot greasier and fatty than I hoped for, probably due to the meat. My favorite part of the meal were the fries, they were super fresh and crispy, tasted like old-​fashioned fries you can find at a local diner. The shake was epic, rich and creamy. I will admit it was a bit hard to sip through the straw because it was so thick, but the flavor was so good, I kind of forgot how hard it was to consume it.
Price: Least favorite part of SS. What’s with the price? With 15 bucks I could easily get two full meals at In-​N-​Out (just sayin’). If the portions were a bit larger, I’d understand, but I guess they believe quality is enough so they can charge customers an arm and a leg.
Service: Friendly, fast and patient (since it was my first time ordering).
Ambiance: Huge location, tons of seating options, clean space overall.
Overall: The quality of my meal was great overall, I thought the beef in the burger was above average… but overall the burger was just okay. The fries + shake are hands down delicious and I’d likely come back just for that.

Hadn’t been to SS in a whiiiiile but went last night for a quick late bite post work and man oh man, so tasty! The burgers are honestly delicious! Every aspect is perfect: soft and fresh bun, non dry meat, cheesy, sauces on point, A+. The fries were extra crispy which is a personal fav, so that was awesome. The staff is very friendly and polite and the space is nice. Really like their food and this location is very nice.

Really great burger joint after your shenanigans across the street at dirty bar etc. I do like a smoke stack or shack? I don’t know, the one with bacon on it! Ice cream looks pretty good too.
Oh and to all you east coasters who think it’s better than In n out? NO

I enjoyed the Shake Shack experience nice place clean quick service the food was pretty good first time eating no– GMO burgers I would eat here again little pricy though but makes sense for the quality food your eating.

This is hands down the best burger and service I’ve ever received! I had the pleasure of meeting the Area Director Allen. He was so kind and even gave me an ornament to add to our tree to remember Shake Shack. He was able to tell me about locations in Texas. I was impressed by his knowledge of competition in TX for Shake Shack.
I mentioned I saw a survey saying that the best burgers and fries were here. So I came over to try for myself before heading back to Houston, TX. It was so worth it! This will definitely be a must do on my future trips to Washington DC.
I highly recommend it!

Oh shake shack how I love you. This place is far better than Cali’s In & Out Burger. The quality of the meat surpasses most contemporary burger joints. The use of simplicity in the menu means you can just enjoy a delicious burger and fry meal without worrying about brioche buns and irrelevant greasy toppings.
Like most burger places they offer delicious fountain drinks and shakes. I keep it classic with a vanilla shake, cheeseburger and fries in order to experience euphoria each and every time.

After partying in Dupont the night before for Halloween, I decided to try ShakeShack out the next day to see what the constant hype was all about. I needed this! I was so hungover and possibly still drunk that next morning, so I needed a big juicy, cheeseburger in my belly to help soak up all the unnecessary alcohol I consumed the night before. I was ready! :D ShakeShack is conveniently located across the street from Dirty Bar/​Martini, Midtown, and Rosebar in Dupont. Walking in, the menu is located on the wall so you can sit back and ponder which yummy goodness you will be indulge in & while you’re deciding, it smells sooooooo good in there. All of the burger aroma kind of helps you to hurry up and make your pick quickly so you can get to eating. They have a small menu but they have all the basics of a great experience at your local burger joint. Burgers, Hotdogs, Milkshakes, and Fries!!! What else do you need? I say nothing, YOU NEED NOTHING MORE! I ended up getting a double patty SmokeShack, cheese fries, and the cranberry ginger lemonade. Everything is made to order so it does take a bit of time to get your food, but hold tight, pop a squat, it is worth it! Trust me! There is plenty of sitting upstairs and also, there is window seating downstairs so you can people watch while you grub. We decided to sit by the window and when I took my first bite, it literally was an explosion of flavor and then proceeded to melt in my mouth. What is this madness? On to the cheese fries; cheese fries are my life so if they mess this up, I don’t care how good the burger is, I won’t come back! No, I probably would, I lie, I lie! But no, they were so cheesy, oooey gooey — ugh! I’m drooling right now! Why am I just trying this place out?! The only thing that I didn’t really like was the cranberry ginger lemonade; the ginger was WAY to overpowering for my taste buds. Next time, I’ll have a Shake with my Shack burger! Overall, I enjoyed my experience at ShakeShack! Great customer service, cute ambiance, and the food was banging! But you know I got to do it, because I’m big on cleanliness; it wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it to be, so I had to take a star away for that. I will definitely be back, specifically to this location!

These guys at shake shack definitely know how to make a burger that tastes special. Well, it’s obviously VERY greasy, But every once in a while is okay!

I had somewhat high expectations for this place because people keep comparing it to In-N-Out.but it is not comparable whatsoever. I can’t believe people can compare this to In-​N-​Out. I think in all aspects, service, price, taste, quality, In-​N-​Out beats Shake Shack. I wasn’t a fan of their sauce because it was this thick cheesy texture (kind of like a nacho cheese spread), nor their bread which tasted like it was purchased from the grocery store. The size and price were the most disappointing. $ 5 for a tiny burger… I don’t eat a lot, but I know that I could definitely eat two of these. I haven’t tried the shakes, nor the fries, but I don’t plan to come back. The one plus that will give is that the ambience is pretty cool, unique and the service/​wait was fine.

The burger was banging, a juicy double with cheese. Can’t say it was the best burger I’ve had, but definitely top 10. The black and white shake was on point. Recommended by the cashier/​waitress as the most popular, and I can see why it was. Fries were a little subpar, but I did see people add cheese or some kinda sauce to theirs. Looks like I gotta come back to try

Shake Shack is fast food that will make you want to eat every bite slow. This is my second visit to a Shake Shack. Very recently Shake Shack opened up in the New York– New York resort on the Las Vegas Strip creating a fast food phenomenon that can only be described as Shake Shack Mania. When I walked into this Shake Shack on a late Thursday morning minus a line, it was the opposite of the Las Vegas location where there has been a line out the door. I remember Shake Shack Mania, and wanted to relive the taste of a delicious fast food restaurant that has the Las Vegas Strip crowd lining up at its door.
Right off the bat, I was decided on the Smokeshack burger. The cheeseburger is 100% Angus beef topped with chopped cherry pepper, Applewood bacon, and the mysterious Shacksauce. In the opinion of my tastebuds, the cherry pepper accelerates the taste to four stars. Complimenting the Smokeshack burger were crinkly fries. The fries are good but not the bomb like Nathan’s, another chain originating from New York City.
The service here is also quality. I appreciate when an employee will go up to your table to ask for a refill.
The restaurant was clean with a sufficient amount of tables. A nice touch is that you can see your food being made.
Shake Shack is quality fast food that will slowly fade from my memory. With delicious food such as the Smokeshack burger I see future Shake Shack memories being made.

My boyfriend loves Shake Shack burgers and ranks them above Five Guys, Elevation Burger, Citizen Burger and BGR. I’ve my boyfriend what makes the Shake Shack burger better and he’s indicated it is the quality of beef. Since I do not eat beef, I can only nod and agree to provide the his feedback. Personally, I like their fries as they remind me of the «non-​freezer burnt» Ore-​Ida crinkle cut fries I had as a child. I also like the line dedicated to just «cold» items (known as the C-​Line). The C-​Line is where you go when you want a shake, concrete (similar to a DQ Blizzard in concept) or other beverage item. Even on the busiest days, the C-​Line will get you out the door in 10 minutes or less.
My Top Positive about Shake Shack is their connection to the running and cycling community! Every month there are what is known as Shake Shack Track and Field events. See FB
for times, dates and locations. One day a month (usually Tuesday), runners/​cyclists converge on Shake Shack for a free beverage.
My Top Negative about Shake Shack is the «option» for vegetarians is a mushroom burger with cheese. If I ruled Shake Shack, I’d offer a black bean and/​or rice burger patty.

Came to this location to try Shake Shack for the first time, and I have to say that I’m glad I finally tried it. I took my gf with me and she enjoyed it as well.
We ordered the original Shakeburger, a Smokeshack, fries, and a seasonal strawberry lemonade. The burgers were pretty delicious– the patties were full of flavor and juicy. The bacon in the Smokeburger was a great compliment to the quality of the patties. My only complaint was that the burger was on the smaller side, even for a double.
The lemonade was nothing to rave about. Tasted like normal fountain lemonade nor was it very fresh, nothing like Chik-Fil-A’s lemonade. The burgers, although pretty good and could even pass a gourmet burgers, were small in serving size with a steep price tag. The double was roughly $ 10.
I wouldn’t necessarily come here regularly only because I feel like I can get my money’s worth elsewhere, but I do recommend everyone try Shake Shack at least once. I plan to try their milkshakes the next time I come.

Les hamburgers sont frais tout comme la garniture qui paraît sortir tout droit des caisses du marché ! Les frites sont fines mais bien croustillantes et peuvent être servies avec du fromage fondu. Il n’existe pas de menu tout prêt. Les éléments s’achètent séparément.
Très pratique, une fois la commande passée on vous remet un bipeur qui vibre dès que la commande est prête. La mezzanine est très agréable pour déguster son repas.
