I came here for happy hour by a recommendation from a friend and I ordered what the friend recommended as well. I got the red sangria which was pretty good and: French fries: not bad only because the truffle oil saves it Calamari: my least favorite dish, didn’t really care of it Margherita pizza: pretty good Cesar salad: decent The friend also recommended the chicken sliders but we opted out for the tiramisu. Overall the food was okay but the bartender was really nice.

Very tasty food and attentive service. Went for restaurant week so we had a sizable sample of dishes and dessert. Check it out for some flavorful Italian food reasonable prices.

I popped in for happy hour, and was initially ignored by the guy behind the bar… who actually might not have been the bartender. He was soon replaced by a really friendly guy, who definitely created a better vibe. The $ 5(HH) wine was exactly what I needed, and the salmon & goat cheese flatbread was pretty darn tasty. Personally, I would’ve added dill, but to each his own. I saw a bug(might’ve been a cricket, but I couldn’t tell), but the manager was pretty cool about it and comped the food I no longer had the stomach to eat. I guess I’d come back? Idk.

There isn’t a lot of affordable, really good food around Dupont(surprisingly), so I’m doubly glad friends introduced me to Sette Osteria. The food as well as the atmosphere are authentic; you have confidence in anything you order(in my experience), and you can enjoy a convivial meal and conversation without rushing or pushing. The carbonara is perrrrrfect, so I’ve gone back for it, but other pasta dishes have also had exactly the right consistency and balance. The caesar salad is addictive, also authentic, with just the right undertone of anchovy. I haven’t tried the dinner main dishes, but there’s a great selection of appetizers to share, and at lunch excellent sandwiches, including a robust grilled vegetable sandwich that is more satisfying than a lot of meat dishes. And for some reason, I’ve found it hard to get a really good Negroni around here – it seems like people mess with the basic simple formula. Sette Osteria offers a Negroni that’s like a little vacation in Italy. I wish there was a place like this on every block.

Always a great choice for my girlfriend and I. Start with the arancini and the meatballs, you won’t be dissapointed. The Carbonara, Gnocchi, Bolognese, and Cannenoli dishes are amazing. Meat eaters can easily add chicken to any dish. Reasonable prices and a varied wine selection keep us coming back.

I work close by and I’m addicted to the Calamari, you can never go wrong with the Calamari. Their menu is superb especially during Happy Hour. The Mussels are a great deal, and I love the Carbonara. Perfect for drinks after work, or just to meet up with someone for a sit down meal. Wallace and Eytoya are amazing behind the bar. If you’re around the DuPont Area, definitely have to check it out

This is not against the server but management. There was a piece of receipt paper in my food. I kindly inform the waiter who proceed to inform the manager. Manager comes over and says opps sorry I’ll get you another dish. Umm…let’s see there is a piece of paper in my food and all I’m offer is sorry. When I got my check I was charge full. no discount nada nothing. I sure won’t be coming back. The waitress itself was wonderful. Rest of the food was okay. Nothing to wow about.

My husband and I decided to eat here for New Years Eve and we are both so glad that we did. I ordered the carbonara which was creamy without being oily & rich without being heavy. The noodles were cooked perfectly & they didn’t skimp on the pancetta. My husband ordered braciole di maiale and his pork chop was so tender he cut it without a knife. The broccoli rabe was simply dressed but also simply delicious. Oh, the prices are great compared to the quality and quantity of food that they give you, we will definitely be back.

Food was excellent. It has a full Italian menu but they are known for their pizzas. I got one of the pizzas, the Quattro Stagioni and it did not disappoint. Along with a salad, the Insalada Mista. The prices were very reasonable especially for the drinks. Small intimate setting probably not more than 20 tables, not very noisy, great for a date.

Love this place, food is always great! My son and me are huge fans of muscles. They serve them in three different sauces, we love the one in saffron/white wine. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff great place to go!

Stopped in mid-afternoon on a Thursday, pretty much everything in the vicinity was not yet open. We were just about the only people there, so had the friendly and efficient server all to ourselves. I ordered the fettucine bolognese and my friend ordered the crabcake sandwich. Both very tasty and completely devoured. Reasonable $. They have a very nice selection of pastas, pizza and italian sandwiches as well as salads and appetizers. They brought out a basket of warm bread and the oil and grated cheese, very much appreciated. We were starving so ate pretty much every last crumb. It was chilly and rainy so no outdoor patio for us, but it looked really cute, hope to come back sometime and sit outside.

There is a good menu with plenty of pasta, primeri and segundi options. I had a hard time choosing, but settled on a carpaccio di manzo for openers, and then I modified the seafood pizza to include only clams(no mussels or calamari). To my surprise, the pizza came with the clams unshucked. I suspect this is done to prove that only fresh clams our used… Unconventional as it was, it was also quite good. As a side note, I ordered it as such with the expectations of it appearing in part like the clam pizza from Pepe’s New Haven, CT. At Pepe’s, the clams are shucked to order and placed on the pie. Had a Negroni prior to dinner, and a house chianti during. Capped off with 2x espresso. Sette’s offers a great Al Fresco experience. Dining inside is equally good as the tables are closely arranged and there’s a consistent din of utensils and merriment from the Bön vivants in attendance.

The atmosphere was fun although I think they needed to turn the ac up it was a little too warm even for me. The waiter took awhile to get our check which was annoying. The food was good nothing that different but good– the grilled veggies were perfectly done. I had the gnocchi which was also impressive and melted in your mouth. Everyone else said their food was just okay. Get the dessert that is like a apple pie type thing with ice cream– it’s to die for.

Such an enjoyable evening! I’m sure that the company didn’t hurt at all! My wife and are moving to Denver soon, and her dear friends wanted to take us to dinner to celebrate. The ambiance was nice. Not too casual, but not over the top either. Outside seating was available, though we sat inside, there was still a nice breeze that was lovely. I ordered the gnocchi, which was really good! My wife got the pesto, eggless pasta, which was also very tasty, though it did need a bit of salt. The pizza looked and smelled delicious, and was a favorite of one of our friends. The other swore by the spaghetti and meatballs. Overall, our evening was fantastic and would definitely recommend it to friends.

I had a reservation here on an extremely busy Saturday night a few weeks ago. When I arrived, the table wasn’t ready, but the host kindly directed us to the bar, and honestly, with how busy it was I think a short wait was to be expected. After about 15 minutes we were seated. I’ll start with the food, which I thought was pretty good for the price. I had arrabiata, and for $ 11.99, it was a decent sized portion and the sauce was good. We also ordered the steak carpaccio, which was good, and the fried calamari and zucchini, also good. I’d normally give this a four star review because the food was good and the wine selection was also good, but I can’t because of the poor service. It took us almost two hours to get out of there. We were trying to cut the servers some slack because they were clearly slammed, but we didn’t see our server for a good 20 – 25 minutes at a time. It got to the point where we had to flag down other servers and the host just to get a refill on a glass of wine, or our check. I’d go back on a less busy night, but would definitely stay away from this place when it looks busy.

3.75 stars. I came here for dinner with my husband on Wednesday night by recommendation from a friend. I wanted 3 simple things. 1. A low key restaurant. 2. Somewhere we could talk 3. Reasonably priced. I have to admit that all were right on point; which I was extremely grateful for. My husband and I don’t eat Italian food very often. No particular reason as to why, but we just usually have other preferences. As far as Sette Osteria goes their food was alright. Neither of us were blown away by it. Appetizer: CROSTINIDIGAMBERETTI E SPINACI8.99 Shrimp/sauteed spinach/grilled bread His: BRESAOLA(pizza) 14.99 San Marzano tomato sauce/fresh mozzarella/arugula/beef bresaola carpaccio/parmigiano reggiano Mine: BRACIOLADIMAIALE roasted pork chop/rosemary roasted potatoes/broccoli rabe/mushroom sauce 24.95 The food sounded better than it tasted. We both agreed. It was good, but not spectacular. What’s carrying the rating is the service we had and overall ambiance. Rebekah was our server. She was attentive, informed about the menu, and very sweet. She offered up her dish favorites to us. The ambiance is somewhat casual with an open space concept where you can see around the entire restaurant and bar. I can imagine it can get pretty noisy on a busy night. It wasn’t that busy when we came here around 9:20pm on Wednesday. I would have loved to sit on their patio. Too bad it wasn’t open. I’d come back for drinks and happy hour in the future. As far as food goes; I don’t know if this would be my ideal dinner spot as my first choice.

Seated when our whole party arrived. Service was busy but polite. Bread basket was pretty much rolled out pizza flatbread served sliced and warm, EVOO and black pepper on the tables. I preferred the Mango’s freshness over the potent Velvet, but props on the latter not being terribly sweet. Small sauce plates of red pepper and parmesan powder. Soft gnocchi and carbonara were both lightly sauced and appropriately textured, I’d happily order both again. Very nice of them to split the shared pasta for us. Three and a half stars. Tellies over the bar to catch a game. Seems like an okay date night spot if you overlook the muted acoustics and flock of St Nick statues around the holidays. Large parties are accommodated by pushing together tables. With Vento gone from Dupont, this is a decent spot for health-appropriate portions of rustic pasta executed with finesse at DC prices.
