I get the warm and fuzzies from Scheele’s. It’s always there for me when I need anything but don’t have the time or energy to attempt Trader Joe’s. The owners are always attentive and welcoming, and they often have their children in the store with them(talk about some cute kids!). Scheele’s has the items you would expect from a corner grocery in the Georgetown area — read: tons of organic, non-GMO items. They also have STELLAR bagel sandwiches(only on weekday mornings). One of my favorite ways to start a day off of work is a bagel sandwich with fresh coffee from Scheele’s and taking my dog Rosco to nearby Rose’s Park for a long game of catch. I truly can’t say enough good things about Scheele’s. My only gripe is that they don’t open early enough on weekday mornings to get my beloved bagel sandwich before catching the DC Circulator to work.

They now carry fresh bagels everyday! Yeah! Love to support them. Nice people! Great variety for a corner store.

Fantastic employees, and fair prices. Only thing preventing five stars are non-CVS prices and a $ 10 credit card minimum. Nevertheless, a splendid place. Very much recommended. You will get almost anything you need: crackers, wine, pasta, coffee, beer, produce and so on.

I had been to this neighborhood store once in the fall, in passing, and I attempted to find it again today. I spent an hour walking up and down the streets of Georgetown before locating it again, and was it ever worth it. The friendly man running the store made the most delicious BLT sandwich I had ever eaten. The store itself was clean and well-stocked with just about everything you could need if you were lacking something for the evening meal or just wanted a quick lunch. They also carry my favorite brand of Japanese iced green tea. It’s a little gem and I will try to make my way there more often, if only for their delicious deli sandwiches.

Considering they are practically my neighbor I cannot say anything bad about them. Mr. and Mrs. Lee are wonderful and its great to have the convenience of their store. You would be surprised the wide selection of stuff they have in there. Seriously, buy local and skip the 7 – 11 or CVS. This is the best little market in our neighborhood and I want to make sure they stay around!

I love this place. I am guessing from the other review that the cute couple who are always there are Mr & Mrs. Lee, and while you aren’t going to do your weekly shopping here(or maybe you are, if you live on wine, bagels, ice cream, etc) if you need something in a pinch, this is your place. Shopping at Scheele’s instead of the 7 – 11 around the block always makes me feel better as well since Scheele’s is a nice little family, and 7 – 11 is a store that is usually out of what I need(out of Diet Coke once? who is out of Diet Coke??) and the people at the register are clueless. Just go to Scheele’s…
