After coming here for breakfast and drinks, I finally got around to trying their dinner. To digress, Room 11 has a great vibe with nice décor(e.g., chalkboard wall-hangings listing drink specials) and a cozy atmosphere. Getting to the food: The ricotta app was nice with homemade ricotta, atop pickled veggies and dried purple potato wedges(it comes with a few crostini). My trout dish was excellent — a good mix of comfort veggies — mashed potatoes, sweet onions(?), brussels sprouts. Dining companions liked their coffee burger(though with no apparent coffee taste), and carrot soup(with a spicy kick). All drinks from cocktails, to wine, to digestif were enjoyed. They preferred the goat cheese cake to the pineapple tart(though the coconut ice cream tastes like it was freshly made). Getting three entrees, two apps, multiple drinks and desserts ended up costing $ 150.

It was good for a quick snack, but not for a starving person. The service was great, but felt trapped because the place is so smal.

I love Room 11 — they have good cocktails and knowledgeable friendly bartenders who always make great recommendations. I have yet to order a drink here that I wouldn’t like. Food is really good(the grilled cheese!), but overpriced, so I usually come here after having dinner elsewhere. It’s a trendy place and there is no TV, so put away your phones, have a drink and talk to people for once!

Room 11 is a great spot for drinks or dinner, but is tiny and gets extremely crowded! They also have a lovely, dog-friendly patio open in the summers. My boyfriend and I had dinner here and loved our drinks – really unique, delicious cocktails at a good price point. For dinner, the burger here is amazing! On par with Duke’s, in my opinion. We would love to come back, if the wait weren’t so long!

My brother and I stopped in for a late night drink earlier this week. The place was empty save a group of drunk, aging-hipster bros gathered at the bar. It was clear that their ringleader was either the owner, a partner, or VIP as he popped in and out of the kitchen and ordered rounds of drinks for everyone(except me and my brother) and made loud, coarse jokes. He gave us the stink-eye the entire time we sat quietly in the corner sipping our cocktails, and as we left, made some inappropriate comments to my brother. It’s barely acceptable for grown men to behave so poorly in public. It’s entirely unacceptable when one is the proprietor of a neighborhood establishment. I used to consider myself a Room 11 regular. Thank goodness there are new jams opening nearby, nearly everyday.

A bit mixed about Room11. We came only for a morning snack so can’t comment on their wine and dinner selection. We ordered a latte w/a pecan roll and apple pear muffin. The latte was pretty disappointing as it had a sour taste to it. The pastries however, were good. The pecan roll was really buttery and decadent — it really needs to be paired w/strong coffee. The muffin was tasty but on the sweet side. This is a great addition to the Columbia Hts neighborhood though! It’s got great ambiance and tons of lighting for all your coffeeshop vibe needs. :)

Room 11 is a cute and cozy café in Columbia Heights. It’s a small space but we were lucky enough to grab seats at the bar. It’s both a restaurant and coffee shop; when we were there, we decided on drinks and getting a small bite to eat. We each ordered mulled wine which was a perfect match for the rain. Their mulled wine comes in cute blue mugs and was delicious. It was warm with just the right amount of spice. I also ordered a grilled cheese– I think it was just one of those days where I was craving comfort food, and grilled cheese is one of my comfort foods. My sandwich came out quickly and was delicious– I loved the bread and the combination of cheeses. The spicy marinara dipping sauce was a fun twist on the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup combination. The atmosphere was relaxed and service was great throughout our visit. Nothing but positive vibes for Room 11.

This spot might be one of the most hidden gems in DC. Excellent cocktails and food. I’ve had their salmon, grilled cheese, their prawns and gazpacho and everything was delicious. They’ve got perfectly curated cocktails and a wine selection to go along. There’s a cute little patio and bar area, it’s definitely a date night spot. My mom loved it but it’s got the romantic vibe for sure — especially with those lights! A must in DC.

We came here to wait while a place nearby was still closed. But we ordered coffee and it was delicious. I got the mocha and I usually really like very sweet coffee. However, even if I didn’t add sugar to this mocha, it was still good. Was not sweet, but wasn’t bitter which was really nice to drink in the cold weather. The vibe of the place is pretty cool too. Their 2 – 3 tables by the bay window is a good place to have it since it overlooks the neighborhood outside. It just seems like a nice place to chill out and have… coffee! =)

Grilled cheese to the rescue. Late night dinners in DC deserve DC brew & grilled cheese. Met up with a few friends after a day of travel & this was walking distance from the AirBnB I was staying at. Columbia Heights is a pretty cool place, reminds me of Haight Street in SF. Anyway, the café is small with outdoor seating, don’t worry, they have heat lamps to keep you warm during the chilly nights! The atmosphere of the café is chill & has a hipster kind of vibe. It’s pretty cool. I got the grilled cheese for dinner & the DC brew. The grilled cheese was perfect. It had about 4 different cheeses that blended so well & the beer just added to the flavor of each cheese. So good! The waitress was very nice & informative about the different type of meals available that night. This place totally makes you feel like home, plus it’s nice to support local business.

This rating is based on the brunch I recently had here. I remember dinner being fantastic here too; I just don’t remember enough to write a good review about it. The seating area is a little cramped, especially when the outside patio isn’t available due to weather conditions. But it’s cozy, nonetheless. My dad got the corned beef, and I got the pork belly hash. They were essentially the same dish with crispy potatoes and nice runny egg, except mine had a fattier meat and pesto sauce. I found the pork belly to have more fat than meat, and my dad thought the corned beef could be more juicy. So, we actually mixed our dishes together and it was the perfect medium! But if you don’t have someone to share with, I’d get the pork belly — the pesto sauce adds a earthy flavor and who doesn’t love a little fat?!

We went to Room 11 for brunch on a chilly Saturday recently and it was a very nice experience. We sat at the bar, by choice, and started with some coffee. The restaurant is teeny tiny inside but so cute and well decorated. They definitely make good use of their space. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which comes on a delicious homemade biscuit, it was tasty! It doesn’t come with anything :(so I ordered a side of the cheddar grits, which weren’t as cheesy as I’d hoped(I’m from the south, land of VERY cheesy grits) but they were good. My hubs had the grits and scallops and said it was very tasty! This place is very cute and we’ll definitely be back to try some other menu items. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a nice, low key, tasty brunch in this cool strip of DC!

Amazing people, food and drinks! They feature a weekly rotating menu so be sure to check out the new items. The Parsnip soup with Goat Cheese was incredible, a great way to start your meal. My wife loves the Grilled Cheese, and the Sirloin was off the charts. The bartenders are a joy to watch as they craft that custom cocktail. Will be back very soon…

Came here for brunch with my date. We sat outside under an oak tree since the weather was nice. My date decided on pork belly hash and I the corned beef hash. The drinks didn’t catch our eyes so we drank water. The table and chairs were clean and services were at a relaxed speed. No one was rushed to get to any table. The pork belly pieces were small, over cooked, and as small as corn kernels. Potatoes were diced and fried. There was a sunny side egg on top and chopped herbs in oil on the bottom. Mixed together, add some hot sauce, and it tasted ok. The corned beef lacked flavor, the potatoes were the same as the other dish, came with sauerkraut, topped with sunny side up egg. Mixed together, add salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, and was edible. My date felt bad for me and said we should eat half of each other’s plates. So nice. the portions were ok but one does not fill me up. Maybe other dishes had stronger flavors? All dish sizes on other tables were the same.

So disappointing! I really wanted to love this place! But too many strikes against them to forgive :( 1 — it was slightly chilly and we were going to sit outside, except all but one of the 4 or 5 heat lamps on the patio were broken. So we had to sit inside which is cute, but not nearly as charming. 2 — we wanted the shrimp and grits raved about online. Nope. Not on the menu anymore. Nor is anything really comparable to it 3 — we decided on the pork belly app to assuage our disappointment w #s 1&2. Nope. They ran out of that. 4 — ordered something not memorable to eat, and there was a hair in it. Sorry guys.

OMG … I love every single bit of you«Room 11» accidentally found this place as I was in the neighborhood to try the new«Bad Saint» restaurant down the block … but they won’t seat us until everyone show up. So I was looking for a place to chill and wait for my parties to arrive, «Room 11» was happen to be around the corner, so I went in. The bar area was so cosy and rustic. Cocktails were fantastic!!! It was Monday night and the bartenders were very friendly & exquisite. Food was great! the menu is minimal but they do have everything for everybody. will definitely come back and try the rest of the menu. Dont skip their burrata you guys, Room 11 nailed it so well. 5+ stars for the burrata! … creamy & perfectly seasoned. Trust me i have had some that weren’t prepare right, & lets not mention where(finger crossed) !!. their grilled prawns are also fresh and delicious! Hails to you«Room 11» cheers!!!

Stumbled upon this place when Bad Saint was crazy booked. Didn’t get that it was more of a place to do some classy drinking, and maybe that’s why my food experience was hit or miss. Unfortunately the major misses came at the very beginning, starting with the maybe 5 different people that were attending to our table? Was kind of confused as to who was actually«taking care of us» and it was clear that they weren’t communicating: «Oh, did someone already take your order?» and an extra glass when one had already come. They were out of the drink I wanted(the rose wine soda). It took a while for them to come back and say that the bar was going to try and duplicate the drink for me, which was exciting, but what I got was way sweet, didn’t seem to have rose wine, and wasn’t bubbly. Wompwomp. I got the prawns to start and whoa, something VERYWRONG with them. I mean, I ate them, because I always eat what’s in front of me, but they were clearly grilling up some bottom of the barrel prawns. It was not fresh. Even out on the plate they were a little toooo fragrant if you know what I mean and when I bit into it the shrimp was grainy. Definitely close to inedible. The kabocha squash risotto was solid, though, thank goodness, although the presentation was a little underwhelming. The standout for me, though, was the dessert. A fresh hot cream puff with creamy dessert goat cheese piped into it. A terrific passion fruit curd encircled it. The only thing that would make this dessert better is more passion fruit curd! Perhaps a thick layer right up next to the goat cheese mixture. All in all, a little discombobulating but the atmosphere is so cute and warm(inside and out) with great music that it’s hard to deny. Started sucky and ended strong. + Atmosphere, so much of it! + Dessert(the goat cheesecake) ~ Food is hit or miss(- prawns, + a solid risotto) — Tiny food selection — Disorganized service

Nice and cozy spot situated on the corner of 11th and Lamont to wind down and enjoy the weather, good eats and libations. Although there is very limited space and seating inside(it appeared that they had space for 6 – 8), there is plentiful seating outside on their patio. The warm color of the incandescent white Christmas lights strung on the black steel fencing on the perimeter of the patio created a very calm and relaxed mood, which was perfect for appreciating good company and conversation. The specialty cocktail list is very limited(4 were listed at the time I visited), and beers only come in cans here. The wine menu however, is very extensive and impressive. The food menu itself listed very interesting items. Service was quick, accomodating, and attentive. I enjoyed most of the food, but had mixed feelings about one of the plates that I had tried. Room 11 four barrel coffee burger with an egg over easy:($ 14, $ 2 for the egg add-on) I ordered this burger medium rare and it was undoubtedly the best burger I have ever bitten into. It was very juicy and mouth watering, and had a great chargrilled flavor. The coffee flavor was also present but not overpowering; it was just enough to enhance the flavors of the burger. Grilled pork chop:($ 20) I was a bit disappointed by this one. Although it was flavorful, juicy and tender, I was not a big fan of how it was prepared. The texture tasted as though the pork chop was baked and then thrown on the grill last minute to get the char marks, without any chargrilled flavor. Honey goat cheesecake:($ 8) Incredibly delectable, but not what I expected in terms of presentation. The cheesecake came out in what looked like creamy goat cheese sandwiched in a cream puff crust with a lime syrup and graham cracker crumble drizzled on the side of the plate. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this dessert, and felt that the lime syrup was a perfect complement to the honey goat cheesecake. The portions are a bit on the smaller side for the pricing, but I would come back here again to enjoy the ambiance of the patio, try a few new dishes, as well as to have that honey goat cheesecake again.

Come brunch, dinner or just a cup of coffee, Room 11 is the place to go if your on the 11th Street Corridor of Columbia Heights. I’m particularly fond of their reasonably priced brunch, items ranging from $ 9 to $ 14. Their root vegetable hash with fried egg and pesto kale, it the perfect way to detox after a long weekend. You also can never go wrong with a breakfast sandwich, especially since it can come on a Bullfrog Bagel! Their coffee is amazing and something that rivals may of the high-quality coffee shops in DC. I’ve been know to go out of my way to make a trip here, just for a cup. Seating can sometimes be a little tight, but during the summer they open up their patio which doubles their seating capacity.
