Rev. Howard Boyd, Attorney at Law

I reached out to Rev. Howard Boyd because I found his website through a Google search and thought that a Reverend might provide comparatively ethical tax advise because I’m seeking to come into full compliance on a tax issue.
I called and spoke with him regarding what I believe should be a simple question regarding 401k distribution and that I wanted to set up a consultation which I intended for paid services. He informed me that I should call the IRS directly because he did not want to risk giving me bad information as a lawyer because he’s afraid the IRS will come after him. That’s the entire reason I’m looking for a lawyer. I informed him that my experience with the IRS is that they direct you to research their literature online through an automated directory rather than answer direct questions regarding technicalities. He seemed to refuse taking me as a client and I then sent him an email thanking him for his advise in consulting the IRS rather than a tax lawyer and for his candor regarding his fear of not providing adequate legal services and he sent me this response: «I did not give you advice. I merely stated what I would do. I am not your attorney. You have not retained my services.»
I can not in good confidence recommend this lawyer for any decent citizen in this community who may need legal representation for tax matters.
