I love this place.
Let me first address the one thing I have read on here about it being overpriced. Yes, a lot of stuff is extremely highly priced compared to other stores I have found. All the toys, treats, and leashes are sometimes almost double what they are at other stores, and more than double the prices on Amazon. BUT, I come here for food. They are primarily a food store. And I find that the food I feed my dog (Orijen) is the same price as it is everywhere else. Sure, I can probably get it cheaper online with some spot-​coupon, but this place also has a great rewards program too where once you spend $X you get $Y off. (Forget the exact increments.)
What makes this place win, in my mind, is their guarantee. If your dog doesn’t like the food or do well on the food, you can bring back the open bag of food for a full refund. My pup was in the middle of transitioning from puppy food to adult food, and one of the adult foods we bought he wouldn’t touch. I brought back the food and they gave me a full refund and let me purchase a new food. That, to me, is a great benefit. Especially if you have a picky eater or aren’t sure what type of food you want to feed. Also, they have a good selection of almost every food under the sun (except for the junk food like Iams and Purina that you shouldn’t be feeding your dog anyway).
One thing I really wish they had was someone that could help me select a good food for my dog. I find that I have to do the research on my own because they typically have some teenagers working behind the counter. But, I can live without that because I would probably research whatever they told me online anyway.

Popped in here on a whim and ended up spending a fortune (in a good way) — the selection was great! Also when I mentioned that they only had the large size of my puppy’s favorite treats, the salesperson was more than happy to request the mini versions. About a week later I got a supernice voicemail letting me know the mini treats were in stock! Sure I could have gone online for the same price, but any store that goes above and beyond like that gets my business any day.

Good selection, friendly staff… insanely overpriced.
example: Primal Chicken 8lb costs below $ 34.00 at every place I’ve purchased it at (some places as low as $ 31.99). This place — $ 42. What?! Sure, buy 11 get the 12^th free… but that’s not worth it.
We stopped by because it was on our way home and we are adding Orijen to our dog’s diet (alternating that and raw). I was shocked at the cost of some of the treats — also that they sell Dogswell, which is made is China. A no-​no for dog nutrition nuts.

I effing love this store. I get all my pet food here. I love it because they provide a superior quality product that is equally matched by their service. The employees are always very polite and eager to help. They go the extra mile to inform you about their product and are always ready to answer questions.

ProFeed of DC is on my way home from work, so it’s very convenient for me. But it also has fun staffers, and a better selection of foods for my dog.
Reggie, my beagle mix, is a little sensitive to processed dog foods. After going through a huge bag of Purina Lamb and Rice we decided that maybe he was allergic to Lamb based on his extremely ADHD behavior. Enter ProFeed.
In my research for allergy-​sensitive foods for dogs, I was met by knowledgable staff, who helped me pick out the best dog food for Reggie. They provided me with samples to make sure that my dog liked the food. And they always have neat toys and good treats.
Unfortunately the food is much more expensive than what I use to pay at the PetSmart but ultimately, my dog is calmer and less allergic than he used to be. Money well spent if you ask me.
