Potomac Pastry

I get the amanns from Zeke’s coffee a few times a week, so when I realized I could also have Potomac Pastry cater a Sunday brunch I was having, I was thrilled! Jamila is so sweet and easy to work with, and delivered four dozen mini amanns to my house the morning of the event. The mini amanns were just as delicious as the larger ones sold at zeke’s coffee, and we got so many compliments on them. In addition to the pastries, Jamila also delivered a full coffee service from zeke’s, which was fantastic. I would highly recommend Potomac Pastry to anyone who would like delicious, unique desserts at their next event!

Potomac Pastry baked two delicious cakes for my dad and daughter’s birthdays. The cakes had unique presentations and flavors, obviously contained top-​notch ingredients and my guests were impressed. I have also sampled their other pastries — croissants and Kouign Amanns — and love them. They are light, with subtle sweetness and make for a perfect breakfast treat or mid-​day snack.

Both delicious and unique! Really enjoyed the cupcakes in particular, on par with some of the best cupcake places in the city but with much more of a personal touch!

What an amazing experience!!! Jamila recently catered desserts for my husband’s graduation/​birthday dinner. She was incredibly easy to work with and patient while I indecisively stewed over what to pick. Her menu is mouth-​watering and I ultimately settled on the white chocolate raspberry cake and chocolate salted caramel cupcakes. They were DIVINE!!! The chocolate salted caramel cupcakes were unlike anything I’ve ever tried; definitely my most favorite cupcake! Delicate, moist and with just the right amount of salted caramelness. The cake was gorgeous in appearance and amazing in taste. My husband, our family and friends were all impressed with both items.
I will definitely use Potomac Pastry again in the future and highly, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, delicious dessert.

Potomac Pastries catered the desserts for our wedding (financiers and a creative and delicious combination of cupcakes, including gluten-​free options that were just as tasty as the regular ones!). Jamila creatively integrated subtle aspects of our theme into the desserts, which really made them unique to our wedding. And, as if that wasn’t enough, she was easy to work with. We could not have been happier with Potomac Pastries!

Delectable pastries! Potomac Pastry just started up at the Brookland Farmer’s Market (Tues. afternoons near the overpass, right by the metro), and is DC’s newest pastry catering operation. The pain-​au-​chocolate sample we had was absolutely terrific. The box of macaroons we took home also was mouth-​wateringly fantastic. Cream fillings that were bursting with flavor and just the right texture, light crispiness on the outside, super-​soft on the inside. Also, samples of raspberry-​filled croissants were on hand at the market, as well as the traditional plain variety, and some other treats. She’s got the art of French pastries nailed, and I hope will also branch out a bit into more experimental recipes (like blueberry tarragon macaroons!). I wish them only success and hope to see a storefront operation soon. Meanwhile, I’m going to keep coming back and delighting in Jamila’s creations regularly. She’s got talent and a really great thing going with this operation. So much goodness!

Wonderful French pastries! Perfection! They catered a breakfast for me for 20 people and I got rave reviews from every person who got to take a bite of their mouth watering croissants and their kougin amann. Jamila also picked up some wonderful Zeke coffee for us and it was a great compliment to the food.
