Posto is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I got hooked originally because of their dish called«spaghettini,» which is the among the tastiest seafood pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The best part of this dish is the sauce which really tastes seafood infused, not like most places which mix the seafood items with a generic red sauce at the last minute. The pasta is always al dente to perfection. Since becoming somewhat of a regular, I’ve since discovered other incredible dishes including the grilled calamari that melts in your mouth, the pizza which is DOC inspired and has an incredibly tasty dough, and the steak — also a top dish. A meal there, taken with a glass of Brunello, is perfect for any night out. The ambience has the perfect balance of class and charm, while also modern and casual. Great staff. Highly recommend.

Three of us had an early dinner on a Sunday night. Two of us chose the pre-heater menu which consisted of an appetizer, main, and gelato or sorbet for dessert. I ordered the salad, Branzino, and sorbet. The bread was warm, crusty on the outside, and soft on the inside– in other words– perfect Italian bread. They later served a flatbread too. Equally delicious. Lighting appropriately dim. Music perfect– perfect volumne and very lounge-like. Service was spot on. My salad was plentiful. Fresh arugula and fennel with gated cheese. It was vinegary. But the calamari(without beeadcrumb) stole the show; it was probably one of the best calamari I’ve ever had. Wow. Warm, tasty, not chewy. The Branzino was also excellent. The pre fix comes with a choice of vanilla(boring!) gelato or mango sorbet. The melon sorbet twas flavorful and had some blueberries in it too. One person got the cheese plate but requested goat only: he was served Brie goat, soft goat, and pecorino and was very pleased. It was served with dried cranberries and honey. One weird thing was that the restaurant was nearly empty since it was so early. They attempted to seat the third table nearly on top of us. Very strange. The people complained and were moved.

This is a 4 star Italian restaurant that is well worth a visit for their pasta. It is all homemade and prepared to order — Tagliatelle(spinach tagliatelle, free range veal Bolognese, tomato sauce, fresh herbs, & parmesan cheese) and Spaghettini(thin spaghetti, assorted seafood, white wine, with a light tomato sauce) were simply divine. For starters we had three selections from the available options as our antipasti: speck(smoked prosciutto — magnificent), Blue di Bufala(semi softsilky cheese — great), & Caciocavallo(a cow’s milk sharp cheese that was perfect). The service was attentive and friendly. The atmo is sleek and modern. This is a repeat must do for us when we are next in DC and if you haven’t tried it yet, we highly recommend that you do.

I don’t usually review restaurants on line but I was so impressed with the food and service at Posto that I had to post a quick review. My family and I were on vacation in DC we wanted to go to a local Italian restaurant. This was great! Pasta and kids meals were home made and delicious. It was so great we went back the next night. We were enthusiastically welcomed back by the host and server. I highly recommend a visit to Posto any time you are in DC!

A great restaurant with great service and food, Posto is our neighborhood restaurant in Logan Circle. I find it always a pleasure to eat there and no matter what I order it is always excellent. The soups are wonderful as are many of the pasta dishes. I highly recommend it. And the martinis are always perfect.

This became my go-to Italian spot after returning from a trip to Italy. It was one of the few places I could find the authenticity & freshness of real Italian food. What they lack in ambience they make of for in wine & charcuterie options. I go with the Place Salad & Parma pizza almost every time. The best combination if you like arugula!

After three or four times going here now, I give up. Each time, the food has been so-so and the service has been horrible. This past Monday, my wife and I went here and saw the waiter all of three times the whole night. Our busboy(who was awesome) got us our apps, drinks, more water, and the check. When our waiter finally did bother to come over to us, he looked annoyed that we were there and offered no apology for keeping us waiting almost 15 minutes before coming to take any order. If you’re craving Italian, go to Dino’s on 9th Street or Tortino on 11th Street. Both these places have FAR better food and roughly the same prices and none of the service blunders. I’ll go to the Olive Garden before I go back here.

Came in on a Sunday for some apps & drinks with the bf. Immediately ordered the jalapeño Marg. They were out of jalapeño tequila, so the bartender, Jose, chopped up fresh jalapeño for me! Yay! It was the freshest Marg I’ve ever had! Props to Jose! I would come back just for him! The Bf got his usual old fashion and he said it was great. We ordered the smoked salmon bruschette, prosciutto, blue do bufala, caciocavallo cheese, and granchio. Everything was amaze! I always complain about DC having a lack of great Italian places, but posto is the real deal! I will def have to come back for dinner!

I decided to give this restaurant another shot after passing it by on 14th Street for years now. Was pleasantly surprised by recent dinner I had there on a Thursday night. The place was empty, not always a good sign on bustling 14th St, but the food and service were excellent. We sampled a lot of different appetizers including the smoked salmon and the fried eggplant. Where is that shared a margarita pizza, which was extremely tasty and then I went with the seafood linguine. I like how I could get a reservation here on a moments notice and have a great meal for a decent price. I am definitely going to go back here again.

This place is soooo awesome!!! Our waiter, Osmar, had wonderful customer service. I really appreciated the way they accommodated my family. I am pregnant and we brought our 4 year old. So, I already had in mind what I was craving. We sat in a half booth and the ambiance was beautiful. Although this restaraunt does not seem family-friendly because the lights are dim and it has an upscale feel, but they really made our dinner experience memorable… aaaalll the way to the dessert. When family come to town, we have a new place to bring them in DC. Thanks Posto!!!

AMAZINGPIZZA. My husband and I got their Margherita pizza… and it was out very quickly and we quite wished we had each ordered one, as it’s a thin crust and it was simply amazing. The crust was so light and chewy, the sauce was not heavy and the cheese was great too. Best pizza I’ve had outside of Italy! We’d travel back to DC just for this pizza. They have a great patio to sit on when the weather is beautiful, which was quite nice.

3.5 stars. Pre-theatre happy hour was very good: starting with a strong, and I mean strong, bourbon cocktail. The salad my friend ordered complemented the pizza I ordered(cheese, arugula) well. Yum. The service was v good from the bartender. I will be back for dinner and hope to raise my stars to four.

I ended up here on a business meeting through recommendation, and I was satisfied, if not impressed. The outdoor seating near Logan Circle was quite pleasant. The menu was pretty typical(the standard Italian caveats about dairy and wheat apply; not much to do if you have issues with those), but the dish I ended up with(spugnole) was nice. It offered a mushroom ragu with a few fava beans on top, a nice variety and a little extra protein. And it was delicious. The ravioli I sampled was considerably less impressive, passable, but no more. A basket of tomato-encrusted bread(which I’m sure has some fancy name) passed the time. It’s not a cheap place. The presentation of the food was lovely. For my needs, finding a widely acceptable upscale place for a mixed business crowd, it was quite suitable. But if it had been just me dining, I’d be happier for the money next door at Great Wall.

Service on a quiet Sunday evening was attentive. Aperitifs were served. 2 of us ordered the carrot pappardelle with rabbit ragu(I get the humor of it). 1 person ordered a chicken dish. I brought ½ of the pasta home for my son. Three of us were up a good part of the night with«agitata» and a variety of lower digestive maladies. We(literally!) lost sleep over this meal, got the runs, AND got to pay for the privilege. My son had to stay home to recover and my husband and I had a miserable Monday still recovering. I would never eat in this restaurant again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Went for dinner Friday night with my fiancé and his parents, and everyone loved it! I’ve heard great things about Posto but had never been until Friday, and everything I heard was right! They have delicious homemade pastas and pizzas, great cheeses and cured meats, and an extensive wine list. The place has a great vibe and it makes for a very enjoyable dinner. I’d definitely recommend!

In a smaller town this place would be great. The food was pretty good(but expensive). The drink selection was good(but also expensive). And the staff was nice and good at solving problems. We’re not a high maintenance group, but there were two moments that had the potential for a horrible and funny Unilocal review. The reason I’m not writing about them, though, is because they were so great at putting forth a genuine effort to right the wrong that it would be unfair. That said… I wasn’t impressed enough to go back.

A solid, affordable, easy to reserve restaurant on 14th street? Why, it’s a miracle! The grilled rappahannock oyster, salmon caviar, and squid ink linguine with garlic chive sauce frankly blew my mind. It was luscious and flavorful and dreamy. The rest of the dishes I’ve had here are solid, but nothing to write home about. The pizzas are tasty but not super memorable, which probably explains why I can’t remember what was on my ham and tomato sauces pizza. Same with the appetizers and salads. But that pasta, that pasta, I must have again.

Definitely a solid 4 stars The wait was an hour and a half at Pearl, so we ended up with bar seats at Posto… what a great find! The wine list by the glass was decent and the bartender didn’t know anything about wine(but found us someone who did). I loved the sav blanc I ended up trying. The wood fired pizzas were not bad with a crispy crust that almost held up… it became quite soggy halfway through attempting to finish it. The bolognese was absolutely amazing. The egg noodles were perfectly al dente and the meaty sauce adhered to each noodle to make the perfect bite. I would return simply for this dish! Lastly, the menu was not vast but had a great variety and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely return!
