So sorry to see this place has closed. It had a great space for seating, even during the lunch hour. The owner was very nice to the customers. The menu was large and anyone could find something they would enjoy. And it was fast! Even during the crowded lunch hour.

I decided to give this place a try after purchasing a groupon deal. As I went inside the restaurant, there’re a lot of food to choose from. It’s like a deli that serves Greek food. Moussaka($ 9sh) — Egg Plant, Ground Beef w/Bechamel Sauce(butter & flour cooked in milk) & Zucchini. Even though it’s a little bit heavy, this dish’s pretty good! Think of it more like a meat pie, it’s layered with bunch of things I listed above. My biggest complaint would be the portion. It’s kinda small for a $ 9 dish… Overall — The selection & food are pretty good. However, the price’s a bit high given the portion’s decently small.

Earlier this week, I had plans for a grab-and-go breakfast, only to have my hopes shattered. I arrived at a darkened retail space, covered in signage about lease opportunities. No lighting. No people. No bagels. Lafayette Center Port of Piraeus was gone. Forever. Gulp. R.I.P., Lafayette Center P of P. Your Miami Hammy was the subject of many of my daydreams. Miami Hammy, you were the absolute star of the West End breakfast scene, if there was one. Your crispy, perfectly toasted bagel exterior, fluffy cream cheese innards, slippery deli ham, and zesty sweet peppers warmed my heart, filled my belly, and made so many otherwise dreary weekday mornings bright. What will fill this chasm you have left behind? Goodbye, sweet peppered friend. You’ll be missed.

The pricing is high, and they make you pull a $ 5 credit card minimum — but most of their breakfast sandwiches rank below that, so then you have to get something else, and it annoys me, even though I sort of get it. That being said, the food’s always good, the bagels taste like real bagels and not like they’re from a box in the back, and I am literally taking a break from the chicken caesar salad I just got from them to write this review because it is that good. Other things I’ve gotten include the pastito(oh my god…), the avgolemono soup, the gyro platter, and the Greek tuna salad platter. My heart has a particularly soft spot for their breakfast pizza… though I totally wish it didn’t because it’s one of those awesome breakfast things that should require a hangover and a nap to justify, but sometimes Mondays suck so, that counts I think. I am a total fan, and my bank account proves it.

The perfect lunch spot. They have some great options(mostly greek), and the selection is always fresh.

Great lunch spot. This deli is legit a Greek little market. I got their Greek salad with chicken and it was sooo good. The chicken is a breast grilled with some spicy condiment and the salad is huge. The owner is very nice also, I wish I worked in this area bc I would probably eat here regularly.

What has happened to you? I’ve been eating at this place in all their locations — Metro Center(now closed) McPherson Square and now 21st St – since 1997). The salads used to be substantial. Today’s salad looked like it was a lot smaller, and consisted of mostly iceberg lettuce with exactly 1 olive, 1 pepper and some tomato(I don’t get onion). With tax, this is close to $ 8.00. As someone who grew up in the restaurant biz, I understand overhead and what it costs to keep the lights on, but 1 olive in a Greek salad just doesn’t cut it.

I’m new to DC and decided to stop in here for lunch one day after walking by several times. I decided to order the salad with tuna. The salad itself was giant and if I didn’t force myself to keep eating because it was so good it probably would have lasted for 2 meals. The tuna is mixed with capers and olive oil, and that plus the slightly salty(in the good way) feta on the salad made a killer combination. The only downside was that since I picked up and let the salad sit for a bit, it did get a little runny, but not at all in a way that I would consider a deal breaker. Will definitely be coming back for this salad.

This has become one of our go-to lunch spots. Whenever someone suggests it, everyone gets excited. They have so much to choose from, and the portions are enormous. The tuna is great, as they don’t weigh it down with a zillion gallons of mayo like so many delis. They mix it with olive oil and capers and it’s DELICIOUS. I do wish they had a few more options for chips, there are only about 6 flavors of kettle cooked chips to choose from, but that’s certainly not a deal breaker. Also, I think they have a $ 10 minimum for a credit card, which isn’t a huge deal, but I have had to buy extra stuff before to meet it.

Port of P is one of my all time favorite lunch spots. The daily specials they churn out are delicious. You can’t go wrong with the stuffed peppers, the chicken pesto, or the moussaka. It’s a ton of food and I can almost always get two meals out of it. Frankie, the owner, is incredibly friendly and always remembers the regulars.

The sandwiches here are pretty good and they have a wide variety. They also sell a few Greek groceries, which is pretty cool and I like any store that sells novelty items. I guess I don’t go there too often because I keep forgetting it’s around.

3.5! I just moved offices and this place is super close. I’ve already been a few times and it seems to be the new go-to spot for some of my coworkers. I had the falafel and chicken gyro. Both were great. I love the pita, warm and fluffy! They have tons of options to chose from and there are market salads and delicious looking deserts in the counter as well. Adding bottled water and chips can make an order a bit more than I’d prefer to pay for lunch but I’m sure I’ll be back on a regular basis for a fix.

I’ve only done business through catering with Port of Pireaus, but we have always, always had a stellar experience. The food arrives hot, our guests always rave, and we never have too little. The greek salad is a great value, the hummus is yummy, and the deserts are never left at the end of our events. To top it off, Frankie always calls after to see how the event went and to see if they can improve on anything. I truly can’t recommend them more for a good value and great service.

Most definitely a favorite lunch spot. The falafel platter is my favorite… along with the tuna. The tuna salad comes with capers, diced red onions, and olives on top of a Greek salad. Reasonable prices considering the downtown location. The owner, Frank, is really nice along with the rest of the staff.

Very good service, very clean place, good food. Very consistent and comfortable enough to take a client for a brown bag breakfast or lunch.

I have been here a few times and my most recent visit was after a 6 month or so hiatus. I have only ever gotten the spinach salad with chicken. Cost close to $ 10 with the added chicken. I have NOT eaten any other thing from there. So if you want a great giant sized salad, this is where you need to be

I could eat a Miami Hammy every morning if I thought the 2 lbs of cream cheese on it wouldn’t kill me. Seriously good but filling breakfast. PS — My rating is based solely on that sandwich and nothing else. Chances are I will never get anything else there in the future. Seems like every other of the 267 delis within those few blocks.

Work around the corner. Was excited at first about a seemingly good quality Greek deli. Have found over time that the food tends to be bland, meat used is dry and not flavorful. Prices for some things are steep: specialty juice here is $ 5 compared with $ 3 for same at CVS down the street. A box of Tazo tea bags goes for over $ 7. Sandwich and drink for lunch is easily in the $ 12+ range. Staff is very friendly.

Call me crazy, but I like my mexican restaurants to be owned by greeks and my greek restaurants to be staffed by mexicans. Probably the best work-day breakfast in this general vicinity. When you order a breakfast sandwich they actually fry an egg. Weird, huh? Anyway, they’ve got some more creative sandwiches too, like the Delaware Destroyer(omelet on a sub roll with lettuce tomato and mayo), a killer breakfast burrito, and huge, cheap omelets. A must-visit for any hangover Friday. Lunch is solid, but a little overpriced. Better gyros at the Greek Deli on 19th.
