Papa John’s Pizza

Nothing to report really. I called to place my order and asked if I could get the deal I saw online. No problem there. They quoted me 45 min. It arrived in 30 min. The pizza was hot and delicious, albeit way more expensive than other pizza chains… but worth it. The cheesebread tasted a bit too crispy, though. I will definitely order from them again.

I ordered a pizza and they quoted me 30 – 40 min. It took a 1hr 10min and that’s after I had to stay on the phone with the driver to give him directions and still walk to the apt building next door to get him. He also gave me the wrong pizza. So when it’s all said and done the pizza was ice cold

People at the store seem to care about a delivery order more than their carry-​outs.
When a customer asked to pay prior to go back to work and pick up in 15mins, telling The customer you pay after your order is ready is not acceptable. When you place an order over the phone you pay for your delivery beforehand, what’s the difference if it’s for pick up.
unprofessionally handle, didn’t like the way the service was offered, caring more about another order when there is an empty terminal next to you.
it would make more sense to use an empty terminal for carry out and use another one for delivery if its available, which it was.

Fine delivery pizza. Regular prices actually arent that cheap.
Make sure you get the Nats discount or early in the week deal.
Fresh toppings and really good garlic sauce. Much better quality chicken than dominos.

Should have checked Unilocal before ordering. Got the wrong pizza, on hold for 20 min. with the store trying to report it when the line just dropped. Last time with this location or chain.

I ate it. It was good. Buy it again ¹¹⁄₁₀. Got soda it was cold. Wish I went to giant to get more. Also it was a good price for only a couple $. Keep it up papa johns I really like eating that pizza.

Double the average branch’s number of pepperoncinis per pizza box, but the lengthy delivery estimate was still a touch conservative, and undercooked dough is just sad as hell.

I’m a student at American University and I know college students can be buttholes sometimes but don’t work in a club if you hate drunk people.
For lunch, my classmate ordered a pizza and they said that same 30 minute BS. She called back after an hour and someone snapped at her as if she was being a nag. Going to organize a boycott so that this place gets shut down in the timeframe we called and promised them so they’ll know when to expect it.

They did good job addressing my complaints and management was responsive to my negative review and complaints filed on the company website.

Well it’s never great but our most recent try with PJ was truly epic. Ordered online at 7:00, checked at 7:30 since never got confirmation email, assured AOK. Called 20 minutes later, it’s on it’s way. yay, we can smell pizza. 30 minutes later we call and are told it just left 5 minutes ago with two other pizzas. really? 5 minutes later a woman calls to say they’d be there in 5 minutes. great. Delivery person was a very happy guy, with what appears to be a hooker in the car with him. He had 5 pizzas.

I ordered our pizza (Large pepperoni with no special instructions) at 6:34pm.
Was told to allow 30 – 40 mins for delivery.
Had already added a tip on debit card for over 20%.
Called at 7:21pm and waited through 2 mins of phone intro then a woman answered and asked if I could hold
After being on hold, I said we’d ordered a pizza at 6:30 and were wondering where it was.
She said it should be there any minute. The driver had one other delivery before us and left 10 minutes earlier.
So we waited and as I was about to call the nice lady at Papa John’s, the driver called at 7:42pm.
An $ 18 large pepperoni pizza shouldn’t take 1 hr and 8 min to arrive when it was promised to arrive within 30 – 40 mins.

Horrible experience! First I waited an hour. I called them and was told my pizza had left and they were super busy. Half hour later still no pizza. I called again. Apparently the driver called (the wrong phone number) and knocked on the door. No one answered. I live in the basement and didn’t hear them. If they had called the right number. .I would have gone upstairs. Explained all this to a manager who was mad at me and started yelling at me.

I really don’t like having to write negative reviews and I never would have thought to even review a chain like Papa John’s but the experience I had this evening is silly.
At the time of writing this review, I ordered pizzas 2 hours 30 minutes ago and after being told twice it was out for delivery and then being on hold with the store for 40 minutes, I finally got the truth from a rude assistant manager that it hasn’t even left the store yet!
I understand if a store is having problems or delays but they should notify the customers when they order that the pizzas will not arrive in the typical 30 – 45 minutes but rather the hours and hours it is taking. I would have cancelled the order and feed the six people at my house differently.
Time to find a better basic pizza delivery place …

In my experience, Papa John’s has never been concerned with competent service. This location actually has done pretty well in comparison. I guess the weekend manager/​staff must be competent. But after ordering on a weekday evening, I’m not so sure if that’s the case across the board.
If you order extra dipping sauce, you have to ask for them! I have ordered and picked up from this location, many, many times, and never, not once, have they actually put in the order the extra dipping sauce that we requested and paid for in our online order. For this reason, I don’t recommend delivery.
Why have I ordered so often? There’s always some sort of Redskins or Nats deal that results in a good deal after they win a game.
A weekday evening, Mr. Ashley L and company ordered and picked up 3 pizzas, one of them my veggie pizza with no cheese. They brought it home and of course it has cheese on it. A reminder to always check your pizza!
They did bring me a replacement without cheese (they got the veggie toppings I’d originally asked for wrong, but whatever) via delivery. The only time I’ve gotten delivery at this location. The driver did not have much change, I had to overtip. Funny how the problems from the review from 2008 haven’t changed!
He then had to call the manager and wait on hold for about 3 or 4 minutes after I told him it was a replacement for a messed up order and didn’t cost what they label claimed. Eventually, that was cleared up. He asked if I wanted my money back. I explained that I could still tip because it wasn’t his fault the order was messed up initially.
But it’s not all bad! After all that trouble, they included a gift, I’m assuming unintentionally. They included a pizza pan in the box with my new pizza. Thanks Papa Johns! We’ll put it to good use. Also, I enjoyed that on the label, next to my address and phone number, my name was «lady.» LOL. And Mr. Ashley L. eats cheese, so he was happy to get a free pizza!

Idiots! I arrived to pick up my pizza and was told it was not ready but would be in 5 minutes. 20 minutes later I asked where my pizza was. Then I was told they haven’t even started making it yet. Turns out when I initially arrived they sent someone out to get more flour because they couldn’t make the crust properly. They misled me and I waited forever for a pizza that never materialized. I was incensed.
If you work at a pizza place and can’t make dough, you got serious problems. The worst Papa Johns ever.

A new record!
Usually I get my food delivery anywhere between 30 min to «sorry, we lost your order» Tonight I got my pizza in 15 minutes! Now, I know this isn’t common and it probably had a lot to do with luck, but it was impressive nevertheless. And as always, the pizza was hot, fresh and delicious.
In case you’re wondering, I ordered the large thin crust «works» but I substituted the onion with bacon (bacon makes everything better).

Tonight was the worse service we have had … Waited nearly 2 hour for home delivered pizza and we lived 4 blocks from Papa Johns AND the pizza was COLD YUCK!

Is it stupid to review my favorite Papa John’s? Yes? Alrighty then.
I feel like DC is teeming with neighborhood pizza places (even though all I hear on Unilocal is how much DC pizza sucks… um?), so I feel like a Big Fat Midwesterner for writing this.
They deliver fast and have a convenient online ordering system. My pizza has never been wrong. They beat me home from work (I have a twenty minute commute).
Also, this particular location has a $ 14 XL pizza with up to five toppings. Do you know how much pizza an XL is? IT’S A LOT OF PIZZA.

I love Papa Johns. I’ve always had good experiences with it. I like the pizza, particularly their thick crust.
This review is about this specific location, and not about the food.
I’ve tried ordering from them thrice now in the last two months and every time it has arrived COLD. When ordering a pizza online with Papa Johns in the past it’s always taken about 30 – 40 minutes. I’ve not seen my pizza arrive from here in less than an hour and 20 minutes.
Are they that busy? Don’t know, don’t really care, if they are they need to hire more drivers and/​or cooks. This Papa John’s gives the company a bad name.

The pizza is fine, and the sauces are better. I have always bought it in store.;.never have it delivered.
The guy in charge is certaintaly not an expert in public relations, but he is more or less efficient. The guy got confused and it took a bit longer that what he said (10 min) and in lieu he gave two sodas…
