This is the absolute worst!!! We waited over two hours for our pizza. The driver called me and said if I can meet him out on the street, because he was in a rush.

I mean, it’s Papa John’s… You have to go in knowing it’s going to be terrible. But every once in a while when it’s half off because a local sports team did something, and you really don’t feel like cooking dinner, you cave and put in an order. I have caved on more occasions than I wish to admit. One time they delivered someone else’s order to me. I opened the boxes and found wings and some cheesy bread(I had ordered pizza and garlic bread). I was tempted to just eat it, figuring my order was probably already being devoured by someone else; but just as I’m about to dig in, the delivery guy knocks, shoves two boxes into my hands(the correct order) and asks for the other order back. I was seconds away from taking a bite out of someone’s chicken wing that they would have received a little later. I don’t live in a complicated building. It’s a basement apartment, but even 5 steps are usually too much, I guess. I frequently get a call from the delivery guy telling me to come out to his car(right outside) because he can’t find the door(ie. doesn’t want to walk to the door). One thing you can count on is the delivery to be late. Usually around the time it’s supposed to be delivered I crank up my oven to 400 degrees because you know you’re getting lukewarm pizza when it shows up. Anyway, most of the reviews are about shoddy delivery service. I will say this, if you actually go IN to the store, the food is always hot and ready to go when it’s supposed to be. But once you witness the inner-workings of this Papa John’s with your own eyes you will understand why all the reviews here are overwhelmingly negative.

Online ordering is great! We love Papa John’s pizza, but unfortunately this location is not able to provide good service. They either need more or better delivery people. We live less than 1 mile from their location and tonight it says it’s going to take 95 — 105 mins for a pizza delivery. Normally it says 45 — 50 minutes which is still ridiculous. It does not take that long to make a pizza. Obviously the delivery people are delivering too many pizzas at one time especially when they are cold when they finally arrive.

Awful. They would drop the pizza off in the lobby of our apartment building instead of calling the phone.

If I could give this negative stars It would be negatively infinite. I have had nothing but terrible experiences with this Papa Johns location which is 4 small blocks from my home. My first involved an order placed around 9 o’clock on a quiet weeknight. The order was delivered over an hour and a half late.(Two + hours after ordering). Each time I called for status was told«The driver is on his way». The second experience involved an incorrect order that was delivered an hour late. I attempted to address this with the manager but was met with such as «this is what he said you ordered». Unfortunately I decided to give it one more try this evening. This experience put the icing on the cake. I called. Again on quiet weeknight and placed my order. I explicitly told the gentleman(«Tyrel») taking my order that I would pay with cash, and he said«we will see you in 45 minutes» acknowledging that my order had been placed successfully. When my order had not arrived about an hour and 15 minutes after the first call, I called the location to politely ask for a status. I was told by the female manager that my order had never been placed because they were waiting on a confirmed method of payment. They had even taken my phone number when I placed the order originally however never decided or tried to call back to confirm payment. My guess this was a lie. Again the female manager was extraordinarily rude and did nothing to try to remedy the situation. I will never be buying pizza from this Papa Johns location again and will spread the word that this is by far the worst restaurant on Capitol Hill. I don’t understand how it has survived. If I owned this brand I would have fired these people long ago as it is DESTROYing the reputation of a company usually known for higher quality service and food. These people, including the managers(«Joshua Newman») are the best examples of incompetence I have ever experienced. I am writing this review because I have tried to privately address this directly with the staff and restaurant, but have gotten no where. STAYAWAY!!!

Online ordering is a great idea, except this place fails in execution. Last 3 orders 1– 25 minutes late– When I asked the driver why the pizza was so late when I had ordered it online 6 hours earlier, he said, «We are busy». He was nice and gave me a free 2 liter. 2– 30 minutes late– Had ordered online 4 hrs earlier. 3– Told my wife to place the order for 6:45PM, as I told her the will most likely be 30 minutes late. They showed up 45 minutes late… and the cherry on top… gave us the wrong pizza. It was for a neighbor and had 6:11PM typed on it(the pizza reached us at 7:45PM). This place is an utter fail. Even with a 50% off coupon, it is not worth it. STAYAWAY!!!

Don’t order online. I waited over 30 minutes for my pizzas, called several times and was told«your driver will be there.» The driver was not allowed on base because he did not have a driver’s license on him(!). He did not apologize for being late and indicated that it was MY fault for ordering online instead of calling. No tip and I was told that my $ 65 order will be refunded. We’ll see.

They delivered a pizza without the signature garlic dipping sauce. Do I need to say anything else?

It’s your typical Papa Johns joint. I’ve ordered from here over a dozen times and enjoy the PJ reward system from ordering online. I see a bunch of negative reviews but just wanted to say I’ve never had a problem with the quality or service. The delivery times are always quick to my location.

Similar experience to everyone else. Ordered a pizza was told it would take 30 minutes. Took almost 90 minutes. Not acceptable! SUGGESTION: Do not order from this place if you’re hungry and want to eat

Sweet, baby Jesus. We are now on two hours and counting and still no pizza. My husband just placed an order with Dominos. We’re going to see who wins. Something tells me Dominos will deliver the second order before the first. The worst is the lies. We called an HOUR ago to check on the pizza to see where things were. We know it’s Labor Day. We know it’s dinner-time. But an hour for a pizza place just out of walking distance(in the rain), seems a little much. The told us the pizza was on the way. Twenty more minutes go by. Second call. Oh — he just left, but he’s bringing you a free pizza! We are now forty minutes after the second call with the original order and free pizza. God only knows what it’s going to taste like when it gets here. Not happy. Never again. If negative stars were possible, this place would have it. ***UPDATE*** Dominos won. We are also now on three hours and no word. No sign, no call. I hope to single-handedly keep all of you from making the same mistake we did. Call Dominos. Seriously.

When you have a chain resaturant, what sets you apart from the others? It’s not always about the pizza(although that’s a big part of it), but most of the time it’s about the customer service. After all, these days, all pizza companies are claiming that they have the best ingredients, etc. I was visiting my client yesterday and we decided on having a working lunch so we could accomplish all our goals. I ducked out of the meeting room to place my order. The lady over the phone took my order without taking my credit card number. I assumed that it’ll be like other pizza places and they’ll take an imprint from my car when they deliver. No dice. When the delivery driver came, I had to call back again and explain what happened(as if it was my entirely my fault). The same woman acted as if she was doing me a great favor by taking my number over the phone, and immediately hangs up before I can ask her to add a few bucks for the delivery guy. DONOTORDERFROMTHEM! If this is the type of customer support we should come to expect from a franchise location of Papa John’s, I’m going with Domino’s or Pizza Hut.

I typically like Papa Johns pizza, however tonight was a disaster. I ordered online for delivery and after waiting 1 hour, I finally received a a call from the driver who was supposedly outside. I go outside to meet him just to spend 20 mins trying to figure out where he was and attempting to guide him to my front door(which is not hard to find). After a half an hour I give up, go inside, just to get a call that he has found the place. Once again, I go outside and no delivery guy, no pizza. After a good«you’ve got to be kidding me» look, i go back inside my home, just to get a THIRD call from the drive that he has now found the place… WTF As you can imagine, my pizza was cold and box a bit wet from the rain. I call the office to complain just to get a «there is nothing I can do» response. I ask for a discount and the manager says he will give me a new pizza next time I order. Will I order again — NO! But i guess it was a nice gesture… meh.

Generally we are satisfied with the pizza from this Papa Johns and have ordered from them seven or eight times in the five months we’ve been in the neighborhood. Its been the best pizza delivery solution for this neighborhood. Sauce is a little sweet for me but toppings are pretty fresh. Tonight, pizza was HORRIBLE. Sauce was so watery there were puddles on the plate and soaked through our thin crust. Called the manager and he said«not our fault, sauce is pre-made». Also messed us our order and he told me «your order was confusing»… even though I made it online?! Gonna take a break from this Papa Johns.
