The guards are so impolite. I was there for NYE and one guard threw me and ripped my shirt without listening to my complaint. Caution, they employ thugs at this establishment and treat customers who paid for tables like shit.

Went here last night with my girls it was decent. The drinks super strong $ 12 plus they add a $ 2 tip every time. The club is small but I like the design. It’s kinda Ratchet though people were smoking weed all around the club.

I’m only giving this place a single star because Opera is really nice on the inside, although its smaller than it appears online. Visited Opera Ultra Lounge this past Saturday while family was in town. My experience from the time I arrived was not the best. At the door, we told the doormen that we were on the guest list for free admission until 11:30PM. They stated that the guest list ended at 11PM and we needed to pay $ 20/person to get in, so we did despite being certain the website said free until 11:30PM. After entering we each went back through our emails and re-read the email forwarded by Opera at the time we signed up for the guest list and it did in fact say 11:30PM. Showed it to the manager at the door and he said in order to get our money back each one of us had to have an email with our name on it. So, naturally we did. The doorman gave me a bit of a hard time recovering the $ 40 I spent to gain entry for myself and my spouse, stating that he «would refund both our admission this time but in the future the email needs to read +1.» I asked him where his printed guest list was because it would indicate my name +1, per the website, and the doorman stated that they don’t print their guest list it was on me to produce the system generated email provided to me at registration upon arrival. Totally bogus because the website actually tells you when you register its your name +1 on their guest list which is free before 11:30PM, but their system generated email does not state plus one(which is something I have no control over). All in all, I will not visit this establishment again… The bait and switch at the door wasn’t appreciated for me, and I make it a habit to only return to places only where I feel they are HONEST and fair in their dealings with customers.

Went on 3÷14÷15 for a birthday party. Registered online to get on the Guest List for free entry before 11:30pm. Got there at 11pm. Showed the young lady at the front the confirmation email as was asked… then she says«oh well you still have to pay $ 20, because we don’t honor Opera’s guest list policy.» For real, she said that. I look up and around and ask if I was at Opera or not… and she repeats the same line. I now have this dumbfounded look on my face but my friends and I decide to pay anyways. Didn’t wanna be the dude arguing about $ 20 at the club but it’s definitely worth me bringing up now. Music variety was decent but definitely not what was advertised(Techno, Top 40, Hip Hop, House). It was all hip hop. The place is decent… slightly small, but the circular design makes it work out somehow. Again, the guestlist sign up online is bogus… watch out for it.

My friends & I attended the Christmas Eve Masquerade. I was a little upset that they charged $ 25 for per ticket but then again what club wasn’t that night. I wasn’t surprised that the club was small but was surprised by the circular structure. Most clubs when you enter are either rectangular or square in structure. No matter where you stood in that club you had a good view of everyone & everything. The VIP seating are not separated from general customers. Some VIP seating is circled around the dance floor & the rest circled on the exterior in between the bars. I never bought a drink so I cannot comment on the prices. DJ was on point; he played African, Hip Hop & R&B music. Mostly hits but dropped in some oldies from time to time. The crowd was some what mixed but very hyped. All well dressed & all over 21 All in all had a great time… stayed until 4am

It’s fun to club hop to find yourself here(if they are having a good night). If you check in on Unilocal you get free admission before midnight!!!(So check in and get the offer) That’s a smart thing to do especially if your a dude and didn’t reserve a table. However, if you don’t get in for free and don’t have a table, I would say this club is not worth your time. It just feels like a small version of a typical Vegas club. Also, there is not a lot of floor space so by the end of the night, once people get drunk, you will get pushed around…

Excellent valet parking next door $ 15 on a Friday night. Club prices $ 20 to enter. $ 4 coat check… Drinks club prices around $ 10… Don’t get drunk… The music is god and if you dance you’ll enjoy yourself… Regardless if you get a vip section. Good place to party and not try to get with any guys that’s just about one thing. M. Especially when alcohol is involved!!!

The place was packed when I got in. They have flashing lights and nice structure for a club. The DJ booth is close by. You could interact with the DJ while you party. The drinks are not that expensive typical club prices. When I went it was a techno electronic party. The vibe was good and the ambience was dress for success. You could celebrate your party there.

I’m not a huge club person myself, but this was was ok for what it was. Shockingly small for a club when you first walk in, it’s round on the inside with seating around the walls. You feel that tightness when it gets crowded, too; good luck moving around the place after midnight. The drinks were alright, just extremely pricey. The staff is… meh. It’s a club, you can’t expect much. Apart from that, the decoration is pretty…

I’ve always had fun here but I gotta admit this deserves the two stars. They’re trying too hard to make this seem like a high class hard door big deal place to be. DJs have generally been underwhelming. Beer is usually skunked. Alwasy worth a try if cover is free cuz they place provides good atmosphere and manages the crowd well but definitely not my first choice for dancing

You will get screwed, at least Opera guarantees that. The décor is beautiful, the music is great, the vibe is whatever your group’s vibe is. Those are the only positives, in other ways, a very pretty veneer. It will be easy to reserve with them because they care about getting you in, so they can screw you. We were charged for WATER! WATER! I mean a BIG chunk of change — and I only saw carafes! The tips taken out were absolutely ridiculous and the bouncers cornered one of my friends to pay for money for a bottle he didn’t want. We had a set amount and they tried to push/sneak more bottles on us. You shouldn’t have to scrutinize your bill while you are trying to have a good time letting loose. You shouldn’t have to defend yourself and wake up with a hangover and a surprise bill. I gave 2 stars instead instead of one because if you have money to burn and give away, you can have a good time handing it over to this superficial place.

This is probably one of the worst clubs in DC. I don’t see how anyone likes it. I have been here several times because I am friends with some of the previous promoters and friends of the owner, and I have never been impressed. First of all, I hate basement clubs, they are annoying. I hate trying to walk down steep, tiny steps into a dungeon in 5.5in heels. I guess the décor is alright, but it might actually be a little too flashy. It just looks fake to me and doesn’t really fit into the«DC scene»; trying too hard to be like Vegas. Actually, after a few drinks, the décor with all the crazy lights actually starts to make me dizzy. The girls who work here look like escorts; actually, I think a lot of the girls who come here in general may be escorts. The bartenders also do not do a good job at all, drinks, specialty shots are too sweet and not mixed well. Pretty sad since I know some of the girls who have worked here. Don’t think I will ever come back. I’m actually surprised that this club is still open.

Are you a pretentious douche? Do you like to keep being treated like a turd and get attitude from the bouncers? Are you a fan of the same songs being repeated over and over again? Then this is just the place for you! No thanks. I’ll stick to the fun places where people have fun and smile/laugh while dancing to GOOD music.

I went to Opera on a Saturday night for my friends birthday. It was my first time there. The setup of the club was a bit odd. It is a big circle. I am not sure where you are suppose to stand and dance when the majority of the club is for VIP. My friend bought a table for her birthday. We had to show up before 12 regardless if she had reserved a table or else we would have to pay $ 20. I think paying cover is ridiculous. The bottle service was good the girls were very attentive. The music was okay it was a lot of house. I think they they are trying to mimic Miami style clubs. The people were good looking and everyone was well dressed. After leaving the club I was followed home and was robbed at gunpoint. The person followed us once we got my car from valet. I am sure that someone was watching us in the club and thought we had money. The person followed us all the way from DC to Silver Spring. And then robbed us at gunpoint when getting out of my car. Be careful when leaving the club and beware of your surroundings. I don’t think i will ever return to this club ever again especially after being robbed. I did not think it was that great. There are plenty of nicer clubs in DC. No one should need to spend $ 20 just to get into a small underground circular club.

Tuesday night underground spot if you are a hip hop fan. Door guys are nice and accomodating. Walk down, it reminds me of a mini mini version of LIV in Miami, and circular bar with majority of the bartenders nice for the most part. Drinks are standard DC prices and people, this is K street so if you want cheaper drinks, lower your standards and either stay at home or hit up some shitty dive bar in some sketch part of town. Friday/Saturday nights, it’s another option to Park, Lima, Tattoo, Capitale, Lotus, etc. depending on the type of music and crowd that you are into.

Run… run as fast as you can away from this place and trust me you won’t regret going somewhere else. I don’t know where I should start from so gonna keep it short. I really don’t have any intention of paying a $ 100 of tab and $ 20 cover so that they(bouncers) treat me like crap inside. It’s sad to see that those kind of clubs are becoming popular in DC. I don’t have a problem with clubs, but it irritates me when they just play songs that expired years ago and serve it like the«classy upscale night life». If you are someone who just turned 21, yeah this may be your thing, not mine.

This place definitely has a swanky, rich look to it. Don’t take my word for it though– must check out the place yourself! The best part — the ‘hustler guy(that is what he reminded me of: p) was SUPER nice when we tried to get back in without hand stamps(after a less than stellar experience at Cities). The crowd was decent and the place is spacious enough I think. What is that this place does not have, you ask — Good Music! The DJ was awful and sucked. He wanted to play every song for it’s entire length which sucked, and would not take requests, even though he would happily nod his head and say yes, I will. haha! There were also 3 different guys playing this pat Friday, which meant repeat songs. bah! Yeah, in 3 hours we spent here, we heard at least 3 repeat songs. not cool! I will be willing to be back again, to see if this place is anywhere close to what Josephine’s offers! :)

Returned to Opera for the first time in months a few weekends ago, and compared to my previous review it was just OK. Opera was at maximum capacity that night, but that gives no excuse whatsoever for the security guys inside to be moving us aside, and(rudely) telling us to stay out of the aisles(mind you, this is where everybody stands in front of the bar area). The place hardly has any space to move as it is, so if you’re going to let people inside make sure they can at least fit somewhere. Or be more polite about it. That is my only qualm. Also the crowd was meh. Literally hoards of people just stood in the center, with a few dancing. What’s up with that? Maybe I’ll come by again, just not when there’s a $ 20 cover.

Yet another place with watered down($ 14) drinks, watered down music, and the same crowd as everywhere else. DC has a dozen of these places already. *yawn* Door staff is very friendly, as were all of the staff inside. It’s just that the place lacks anything compelling reason for me to return.

In the wild, animals assert their dominance in many ways. Some of these displays are audible, while some prefer a more theatrical approach by boasting bright colors, feathers or by territorial dance. These displays are also prevalent among packs of women in trendy night clubs. When the lovely ladies of Glittarazzi invited me to a girl’s night out on Opera’s grand opening weekend, I could not resist. They have a proven track record to be blasts in a glass. I’ve been to just about every club in DC on more than one occasion, so to me I expected just the same ‘ol, same ‘ol: Heards of party goers clamoring to get inside, guest lists, austere bouncers … I know the drill. So I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was whisked away inside. Sure, arriving solo to meet a table of ladies makes for a great lubricant, but I was pleased nonetheless. The party was already all the way live with a very well dressed, good looking crowd assembled. The venue itself, pristine with an electric flair and bursting with colored lights. Since the venue is underground, it has that great, basement dance party vibe since all of the energy is contained in one room. I kind of felt like I was on a very sexy and chic Starship Enterprise. Just like a pack of she-wolves at one point we sashayed to the DJ booth to check out DJ Deemo get busy.(And due the sheer volume of the group, the other group of ladies that were previously there were forced to eventually re-locate.) Now everyone knows that house/trance/dance is not my #1 choice of music, but in the right setting, with the right DJ I can get down with the best. So there I was — champagne sipping, hair shaking and body rocking the night away, not to be outdone by DJ Deemo who at one point actually climbed on all fours over the DJ booth, while he mixed. Yea, it was one of those nights. All in all, I was extremely impressed by the venue and the staff. I really hope it doesn’t become too pretentious or go the other extreme, because right now — it’s hot! Will definitely be back!
