Still like Nirvana a lot, but i gotta drop them a star for offering meat. There are plenty of places to get meat lunches in this neighborhood, and they effectively just dropped the total number of vegetarian lunch options out there. I was saying boo-urns.

I reaaally don’t know why everyone thinks this is so awesome. I got a scoutmob discount so it was 50% off, and I got a two curry lunch special with saag paneer and eggplant. They were fine, not particularly spiced or flavorful. I’m sure there are better options in the area. The bread was good though… But I wouldn’t go back. Maybe if you worked in the building it’s fine.

I miss Nirvana, the K Street vegetarian Indian buffet restaurant. Fortunately, the owner opened up Nirvana Express. Not the wide variety of dishes as in the full restaurant, of course, but still great fare. Masala dosa is a good choice.

I had the falafel dosa, which was dry and bland. I have a feeling it was supposed to come with some kind of sauce and they forgot to add it. My Chai tea was delicious. I got 50% off with scout mob and I honestly wouldn’t go back, but it was okay.

My cousins took me hear so we can reminice on our childhood. The masala dosa was delicious. Everything I expected and more. Now here is where my desi side cones out and the only reason I didn’t five Nirvana the full 5 stars is due to the price. $ 7.50 for masala dosa with chutney?! Damnnnn. Whoever said that childhood memories are priceless must have not lived paycheck to paycheck. Still best food you can find at the International Square food court

DELICIOUS! I work a few blocks down from here and go any chance I get. Forget those overpriced sit-down restaurants. Nirvana Express is where it’s at! Delicious, creative, well-prepared dishes that vary by season. They clearly mark whether the dishes are spicy, medium, or mild, and have great vegetarian and vegan options any day of the week! The samosas are delicious too, I can’t ever pass by without getting one!

I was a huge fan of the old Nirvana on K street, before it closed down. This pint-size version is owned by the same people, and, while it’s not quite up to the standard of the old place, it’s still a very good option for vegetarian indian cuisine. The small size makes for a less of a selection, and the menu changes daily, so it can be a little unpredictable. Still, most of what they serve is very good, and the price is absolutely right. Very good place for a quick, budget, vegetarian lunch.

Nirvana Express is in the basement Food Court of International Square. I believe it’s owned by the same folks that owned the now-closed Nirvana restaurant. I didn’t frequent the restaurant much because all-you-can-eat lunchtime Indian buffet is not good for my productivity. Nirvana Express dishes out delicious curries, etc. without the temptation to gorge myself. Also delivers spicy pumpkin curry. Yum.
