Slow service and on the louder side. They’ve gotten my order wrong in the past. Most recently on a to go order when I received a chicken Caesar wrap when I ordered the roasted veggie wrap. Better places for a mid week lunch in the area.

This is our first time here. They have a variety of selections. I would eat chicken every day if I could make it like them.

This place is overpriced for what you get. There is way better chicken at don pollo or Chix for cheaper. The portions are small and the food is not very tasty. The chicken is a bit dry and the sides are average. On the plus side, the soda machine has many many options.

3.5 stars for this café with an ordering system similar to corner bakery get a number from the greeter, get in line to order, sit down at your table with your number propped up & your food will eventually arrive —platter(whole chicken with 2 large sides): the portion was perfect for 3 of us girls to share! —the chicken: could of been more moist for a rotisserie chicken… we choose medium spicy for the chicken although it didn’t have much flavor. you really have to add flavor with the sauces(GARLIC peri peri sauce was my fav of the 4) —macho peas: i liked this healthy side dish of mashed peas —mashed potatoes: pretty good, standard if you’re craving dessert they have options, including a 2.99 unlimited soft serve deal NOTE: there’s outdoor patio seating for the nicer days!

A young lady name Aki and Ashley were great in customer service. They gave me an upgrade on wine because my wine was forgotten. The manager Devin is very next be and cordial. I love this place and I’ve been coming here for the past couple years. The location is great and the view is a great satisfactory.

I am completely dependent on Unilocal when it comes to finding good restaurants. But on occasion, I decide to try out restaurants without the help of Unilocal.Nando’s was one of these selections. Nando’s stood out to me because it looked different from most restaurants. It had an extensive outdoor seating area, and the interior seemed to host a nice ambiance. Indeed, the interior was industrial with exposed bricks, metal beams, and accents of raw wood; the table I sat at was made of beautiful spalted maple. The food was just as good as the interior design. First, there’s a lot of customization. They let you select how spicy you want your food to be, and you get to choose and add on different sides. The chicken I had was very tender and moist, and the sauce paired excellently with my mashed potatoes. The butternut squash salad, which was a cooked salad, was equally delicious. Where this place could use improvement though is in the service. It took quite some time for us to receive our food.

Ambiance? Not here. But if you can take chaos, there’s decent chicken.

I’m not quite sure what all the hype is about. The vegetarian options are flavorless and minimal. The happy hour margaritas are advertised as a ‘pitcher’ but come in a pitcher the size of a regular glass and are fairly watered down.

Food is great. Great flavor. We came out during lunch at work and this was fast and yummy. They have an upstairs too with all the extras upstairs too. The food came very fast too and all was done within the hour for parking. You can get a frequent card to get discounts too. Yum

I have eaten here 3x and the chicken is consistently good. This is a unique, simple and flavorful recipe. Get a ½ chicken w/fries. Use the sauces they have out for a great meal.

Let’s be honest: I am in an endless love affair with Nandos. Their entire brand image and business concept is rockstar. They take fast casual and take it a step further with class and finesse! This particular Nandos in Tenleytown is one of my favorites. The ambiance puts the chic in shabby-chic. This location also has gorgeous outdoor patio seating perfect for summertime. Everything that I’ve tried on the menu is tasty. The sides are golden, especially the garlic bread, mashed potatoes, and cole slaw. Just a warning, if you choose to get the hot chicken, it is really hot — I usually stick to the medium. They also have many different sauces available to add to your chicken and sides.

Went here last night with a friend for happy hour. $ 8 pitcher of sangria and a hummus platter??? YESPLEASE. More of a family atmosphere when going out for happy hour, but their sangria was still pretty awesome. My only complaint is I don’t like having to order before sitting down.

Food wise and appearance this is the best location. My orders always come out perfect and there super clean. However, I tried to do happy hour again today and there’s no 50 percent off for happy. Some workers say it is and some say it ain’t. It’s only happy hour on Sangria. I truly love Nando’s been eating there since 2007, but the company needs to get it together. Better advertisement and appearance. The new peach sangria was great though.

Pricey and the food it just alright! Only convenience is that it’s close to AU and the sauces are really good! I feel like I’ve tried better chicken places for cheaper. Especially when it comes to the chicken breast. Other than that the cool thing about this place is that there are a lot of places to sit and the ice cream they have is UNLIMITED! So every time I go I drown myself in ice cream and I would recommend you to do so as well. I always remind myself to bring toppings from home since they only have the ice cream LOL10⁄10 would recommend doing this if your gonna drown yourself in ice cream

So very yummy!!! That must be the reason why it’s constantly full during lunch hour! They have outdoor and indoor seating as well as takeout. Can’t wait to go again!

I admit it — I had never been to a Nando’s. But when my go-to chicken spot was closed(who knew they would close early on Superbowl Sunday), we decided we still needed to get our protein fix, and we headed to Nando’s. First impressions — while the lovely and colorful interior is visually striking, the elaborate system that Nando’s has developed when you enter is unnecessarily complex. You are seated by the hostess who gives you menus, you then order at the counter, and then you sit back down, and someone brings you your food. I’m not sure why this is the system — either have people order and seat themselves, or not. And then there was the food. You know, DC spoils us because we are surrounded by extremely reasonably priced Peruvian chicken spots(see Don Pollo in Bethesda). Everything at Nando’s is about $ 3 – 4 more than Don Pollo(we normally get dinner for 2 for $ 16, and Nando’s, it came to $ 25), and the portions are about 25% smaller. The other disappointing thing was that for all the chicken buzz, what we sampled wasn’t that exciting. It’s clear that the sauces are supposed to do the flavor-work here, so the chicken itself just doesn’t have that much of a flavor. What flavors Nando does work with seem to center on spice — most of the things we tasted, despite requesting mild flavor, were just too spicy. The side rice was just pure spice, and no flavor, and the veggie burger with lemon flavor was an utter disaster(served with flavorful but soggy fries).

Kind of an overly-complicated system. I guess once you’ve done it once, you understand it, but it was a mess the first time I went. Glad there wasn’t anyone behind me as I tried to figure it out. They aren’t kidding about their spice level. It is true. Their garlic sauce is great. very garlicy, but also spicy. Kind of an acquired taste of spice, but still good. Their garlic bread is to die for, but their fries area bit soggy. The seasoning for the fries is great though. Just need to be crisper. I’m giving them 3 stars instead of 4 purely for the price of the food. It is a bit overpriced in my opinion… you get a better deal at Chipotle a block down.

Had a splendid first experience at Nando’s in Tenleytown. I was impressed with the décor — modern, unique, and trendy. The seating upstairs is particularly nice. My husband and I ate at the restaurant, and we ordered the whole chicken — hot — and chose mashed potatoes and cole slaw as our sides. We both agreed that the chicken was amazing. Perfectly crisp, seasoned skin with the right amount of heat having chosen the«hot» preparation(we love spicy foods), but still nice and juicy on the inside. I rarely choose chicken when dining out because I’m almost always disappointed but since Nando’s is known for the chicken, I went with it. And I was not disappointed. Perhaps my favorite thing was the fact that there’s a wide variety of sauces that you can bring to your table to add to the chicken… I loved the garlic sauce and the hot. The cole slaw was really nice, not too runny and the perfect amount of cool to tame the spicy chicken. The mashed potatoes were good too, nothing special. Big fan!

Relieved to get this option around Tenleytown! The chicken is great, and it’s a nice spin compared to your typical American chicken and wings dishes. The interior and outdoor seating is great, providing comfort while eating :) definitely recommend the garlic bread on the side. A negative is the spiciness: their hottest sauce isn’t very spicy, and although I like spicy foods, I definitely personally cannot handle too spicy foods. So their bar is low.

3.5 stars for my exPeri-Perience here! I came here with a group of friends when I came to visit. They recommended that I try the mango lime wings so my friend and I split an order of 24 wings that came with two sides, which we chose to be the garlic bread and mashed potatoes. I wanted to split the wings and have half be mango lime while the other half was the lemon herb flavor. Sadly, they couldn’t do that. Service was pretty quick for our group! The wings were pretty good to me but nothing too special. Personally, I liked the flavor of our wings but I didn’t get much of that mango taste. The garlic bread was great as others have mentioned and the mashed potatoes were also really yummy. Overall, this place was a good place to try out but it was nothing too special for me.
