A(very) hidden gem in Washington. This museum is life-changing. Words cannot describe the emotional roller coaster it put us through. A friend and I were in there in March and it was the highlight of our weekend in DC. If you’re in DC, you cannot miss this museum. Seriously. Do not visit a single Smithsonian until you’ve passed through this place.

***************************** From the point of an unoffended Catholic: Odd. Strange. Unusual. Bizarre. Uncomfortable. Moving? Powerful? Isn’t that what makes art great? In fact, feeling«uncomfortable» is a pretty strong human emotion. If that is what the artist’s intentions were, then he succeeded. Kind of hard to rate this small little room that contains a video that has stirred much controversy over the recent weeks. On one hand… it stirs negative emotions.(Let’s be honest… it’s not all sunshine and roses in this video) On the other hand, that is what makes it brilliant. The censorship exhibit outside of the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery is simultaneously running along with the HIDE/SEEK exhibit inside. This particular exhibit was amazing. A couple of works worth mentioning from that exhibit…(all google-able!!) UNFINISHEDPAINTING by Keith Haring CHANCEMEETING by Duane Michals And probably most profound(in my opinion)… UNTITLED(PORTRAITOFROSSIN L.A.) by Felix Gonzalez-Torres This is worth the visit while it is still available. As for the PREMISE of the«museum» I appreciate them showing the public this video and taking a stand against censorship. I would like to thank the guys in the youtube clip(Top of this review) for what they did.
