I’ve been going to this store for years and always loved the experience. The guys here are professional, knowledgable, and the paint really is high quality. The place is kind of a hole in the wall, but they have everything you could possibly need. That being said, a recent experience soured me to the store a bit. I went in by myself and was pretty clueless about what I would need for a home improvement project. I hadn’t bought paint in quite some time and had no idea what prices were like. After talking to some friends after my purchase, I realized the guy up-sold me pretty significantly and the paint I’d bought was a premium product. Definitely not what I needed. I went back to the store and exchanged the paint for a cheaper version. The man at the register was really nice and apologetic and I got a full refund on the initial purchase. The takeaway here for me is: If you want high quality paint, this is the store to go to in DC, but make sure you know what you want and have a price range in mind.

I cannot believe that nobody has recommended this paint shop. They sell Benjamin Moore Paint, which is simply the best paint out on the market(though it is expensive), and they are very helpful. Now, this is a small shop, so you may want to give them a call a few days in advance if you have a large job you would like to complete. Also, if you bought paint at Home Depot or Lowes, then don’t bother trying to get your color matched as they don’t sell the same paints. They will try to help you find a color that’s close, but finding a match will be hard. In fact, do yourself a favor and buy all of your paint here. The staff here know their paint and I think all of them are professional painters on the side. Ask them any question you can think of and they will give you their honest opinion. Now, you may not want to hear this opinion, especially if you don’t want to do a proper paint job, but if you listen to them, your paint job will be excellent. This place gets pretty busy on the Saturdays, so get here early. I arrived at 8 and there was no line, but when I came back at 12 there was a good sized crowd. Good staff, great paint, enough said.
