Owner refused to take me in an hour and a half before closing time because«there was no time» for her to give me a simple manicure.

Maybe four stars because of the price. They are very reasonable. But as for the work, it is good not great. What makes a great salon is the attention to the details, size and shape of nails, even on both hands, not slanting and CLEAN edges. Nail service is good. Eyebrows were a bit of a disaster. One is higher than the other and they are different shaped. I hadn’t let anyone near them in over six months mind you so it was a clean slate pretty much. Had to come home and fix it myself. Shop itself is a bit grungy but the women are friendly and have personality.

Horrible experience… maybe not their day! Just recently moving to this area I needed to find a new nail shop. In reading some of these reviews I decided to give this shop a try… I must of went on a bad day. I arrive to be the only person in the shop… the nail technician was not friendly and did not converse with me during the pedicure or manicure, being the only person there this was very awkward. During the pedicure I instructed the technician not to scrape certain areas of my foot(on my big toe and pinky) due to calluses. The one on my big toe being especially sensitive. not only did she try to scrape it… she held it up and squeezed it. when I told her that it hurt… she stated that I needed to get it fixed with no regard to the fact that it hurt. Then she proceeded to squeeze it again. Then during my manicure the only time she spoke to me was to tell me to be still… not a good experience… The only time this technician smiled at me was when she took my payment.

I had a good experience today at Ace, after going to Giant across the street. The price is cheaper than other places I’ve gone to in dc($ 10 for a manicure), and my nails look good. The person doing my nails listened to what I requested, and took the right amount of time. The place itself does not feel luxurious– it looks like it hasn’t been updated in at least a decade, if not a few. The dryer station is just a table with some portable dryers on top(just fans, no uv). There was a small boxy old-school tv with antennas showing a golf tournament. There were only three people working on Saturday so suggest calling ahead. It is kind of like the equivalent of a dive bar– the price is right and it could be what you are looking for.

If you’re looking for a great price on a quality nail job, look no further. A friend had been raving about this salon, so we went together to get mani/pedis with Sarah. She is amazing! She does phenomenal work and really values her customers. She has a no-BS kind of attitude, and has this hilarious/wry sense of humor. We not only had great work done on our nails, but really had a lot of fun. Definitely going to make this my new regular spot for mani/pedis!

I’ve been going to Sarah for over 10yrs and she is the best! It may not be the most high class salon but she does a remarkable job for a low price.

Ace Nail is sososo great great… service was good, people was like family, place was so comfort for me… The location is so perfect for work. The staff are so friendly and accomodating. And on top of that, I think they do a fantastic job! And the price… have you noticed where they are located… my time is worth the convenience of their location… in the end it saves me both time and money! Great silk nails that do not damage your own nails when taken off. I don’t know why people are complaining about the price. Prices are great for the quality. Yes, they are fast, but who wants to be getting nails done all day? I love it! … I highly recommend this place… small place but huge happiness… If you want to make appointment, ask to «sarah»

I made an appointment here got there and walked right out. It smelled like mildew, was dark and looked like they had never cleaned the place once. I don’t know about the other review on here… it might be reasonably priced but I wouldn’t risk my health for a cheap job. I wouldn’t recommend this place ever. So Unilocalers, don’t waste your time! On that note, if anyone knows of a good place to go, I’d love to hear about it! It seems like there aren’t that many good places in DC… maybe Alexandria?

I have been coming to Minnie/Ace Nails for about the last 10 months now and I have to say I am completely happy with them. It is a small privately owned place that makes you feel like you are part of their family. Granted it is no Andre Chreky Salon which is a good thing because I don’t want to spend that kind of money that they charge you for a mani/pedi. I have a standing appointment every other Saturday at 11am for a mani/pedi with my one of my best friends Marco. It’s our time to spend together after we have spent the morning studying the Torah. The price is right $ 34.00 for both and the work is great and very detailed for my taste. I am real picky when people work on my nails and I have to say that Cindy is really good at the details. The place is small and granted people have to wait for a while but all the girls in the shop make sure that they take care of everyone. If you are looking for a local place to get your nails done I highly recommend Minnie/Ace nails. Make sure to ask for Cindy.
