What a great little store/deli for this neighborhood! My friend(who lives in the DC area) was working at the nearby Silbley Hospital & I was meeting him for lunch. However, there aren’t any restaurants nearby. Enter Mimi’s! We were surprised to see quite a convenience store selection of chips, drinks, along with some household necessities(cleaning products, etc.). I chose the cheesesteak sub with everything(lettuce, tomato, mayo). The place was bustling, so we were expecting to wait long. However, within five minutes, we got our sandwiches & drinks & we were on our way. The staff here is very friendly & the place was clean. The prices seemed reasonable, especially for this rather expensive part of DC(right outside of Georgetown). The only downsides are there isn’t any seating & parking out front is limited(street only).

A welcome change from your typical Starbucks and upscale coffee joint! I visit Mimi’s a couple of times a month on my way to work. Located in a mostly suburban neighborhood on MacArthur, there are typically very little retail stores so it was a blast when I found this place. In terms of the shop itself, it is your standard deli/convenience store with a smattering of regular items(drinks, wine, soda) as well as some odd items(seaweed snacks and asian gummy fruit snacks). They do have coffee and a good hot grill where they will make breakfast sandwiches to order. The staff inside are friendly and, I think, in all of the times that I have gone, the same 2 people are always behind the counter! Give these guys a day off. Overall, 3 stars here.
