If I could give 0 stars, I would. I called to make a reservation for 15 – 20 people and was told it would be $ 25 if the group number changed and $ 50 if I was a no-show the day of. Ok, I get it; I’ve worked in the service industry for many years. I called 3 days before my reservation to cancel and I asked for the employee’s name in case there was an issue, and they said«Don’t worry my name doesn’t matter, your cancellation is taken care of» and they hung up. Fast forward a week later. My credit card was charged $ 50. I called to get my money refunded since I had called to cancel the reservation plenty of time ahead. The employee called me a liar and said I was not allowed to speak with a manager. When I did talk to the manager of the restaurant, Shigh Moore, he called me a liar as well and wouldn’t refund my card, saying it was my error for not canceling and that I must be crazy and stupid for saying one of his employees would say they cancelled when they didn’t. When I said I had phone records to prove it was cancelled, he again called me a liar because I could not provide an employee’s name who cancelled the reservation. He even said he would have to search through all of the phone records to see physical proof that I had actually called or even had a reservation. He then proceeded to raise his voice when I tried to explain what happened and was almost yelling before hanging up the phone on me and not calling me back when I Continuously called to resolve the issue. After going above him to the management of the hotel, he sent me a very rude email saying that he was in no way rude and should not be telling others so. I then went to the hotel, which oversees the restaurant, and that is a whole other story. Bottom line, it took me over a month and a half to get my card refunded and the customer service was absolutely terrible. I didn’t even step into the building and was treated so poorly, I will most definitely not be going to M Street Bar and Grill ever. If that is how they treat potential customers before they even dine in, I Can only imagine the service they provide should, heaven forbid, something go wrong during someone’s meal.

Brunch review — I have to start by saying that I can’t believe that I actually lucked up on some street parking… and for Sunday brunch?! Lol whew that’s rare but I would suggest waiting a few moments to see who may be leaving so that you don’t have to walk too far to the restaurant. Upon walking in I wasn’t sure where I was meeting my friends but through the doors there’s a bar to the right. I was able to find them up the steps. It may be beneficial to have someone greet guests by the door and lead you to your group. The Jazz Band consisted of two musicians playing some modern tunes. There were points where they kept stopping for long periods of time so we weren’t sure if they were taking a break or if they were done with their set. But for the time they did play, it added to the liveliness of the dining area. There were a few other parties there at the time, one with a group of 15 or more people and there was plenty of space between our location and theirs. Our waiter was pleasant. The bottomless mimosas were okay not the strength to my liking but they were bottomless so I figured they would eventually equal out right? I orderd the arugula salad, it was good. The main course was the French toast that was absolutely delicious. The berries are great and paired so well with the entire meal. For dessert I decided on the chocolate mousse and it was Heavenly. Definitely have your glass of water at hand! The only hang up that we had was about the gratuity being automatically included for our group of four. Online it stated that for groups of six or more it would be included but not for such a small group as ours. The waiter somewhat pretentiously asked whether or not the job wasn’t worth the automatic gratuity. That wasnt the point we were making so it was a little off putting having to get the clarity on that situation but either way we had a good time so we ended brunch on a good note. I’m excited to go back soon.

Awesome location. Their service was out of this world and they provided us with a great experience. I would definitely host another brunch of 20+ people here.

Had no idea this place was on the first floor of a hotel, but we were very happy to find it. General overview: great food, needs better service or a better attitude. Overall good value in the sense that you get your money’s worth. I’ll start with the positives: food was excellent and the bottomless mimosas were delicious. Those reasons alone are the only reason for achieving 3 stars. Huevos rancheros were absolutely to die for. Came with beans, guac, sour cream and home fries fried with peppers. The chicken and waffles was also delicious. The waffle could’ve been crispier but definitely a winning choice. The décor inside was also very modern and pretty. We attended for bachelorette party brunch but seems like a nice, quiet place to have a conversation over dinner. Negatives: their«three course» brunch seems like an afterthought, to «add value». First course options were soup or salad. Definitely weird for brunch. I’d suggest them upgrade the brunch menu to a few table share plates like a loaf or a fruit and cheese spread. The service was also pretty much crappy. We asked for a table for 4 and were asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. There was one table of three seated and the rest of the dining room was empty so that seemed off. Once we finally got seated and ordered, it took about 15 minutes for the first mimosa refill and we had to ask. Again, maybe 2 – 3 other tables at this point. Not remotely busy but everyone servicing us acted like we were a huge inconvenience, huffing puffing and just not happy in general. Once we ordered our waiter was more pleasant. So silver linings I guess. Maybe they just aren’t morning people? Either way food was delicious and I’d consider returning for another meal.

I had my happy hour Birthday gathering here and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We brought in decorations and were given a corner table to ourselves. We ordered many different appetizers off the menu. The grilled chicken wings were the universal favorite. Not fatty and very flavorful. The spicy shrimp were also great. We just kept ordering. Tom, our waiter was attentive and kind and funny. The bartender even made us a specialty cocktail not on the regular menu. We will be back for brunch next time~ Thank you!

I came here for a birthday brunch with a group of friends. The ambiance was nice and our waiter was very attentive to our table which can be overwhelming when you have a huge party. I ordered the chicken and waffles which I have to say I was disappointed in. The chicken lacked any type of seasoning and the batter tasted like straight corn meal. I expected better. The mimosas were great though and overall I enjoyed myself. Next time, I will have to order something else.

I organized a large brunch at M Street Bar and Grill for 30+ people and the team at M Street was more than accommodating. We all took advantage of the three course brunch with unlimited mimosas. We had a dedicated server and our own private room. I would highly recommend this place for a group gathering in a classy venue.

Came here for brunch. Food was okay, nothing spectacular but our waiter Promotho was great! Very attentive service, kept our drinks coming which is always a plus! Had the chicken and waffles which was good, accompanied by a caesar salad.

I am highly disappointed with this restaurant. I am putting a one because I have to otherwise it would be no stars. I went for an event and was excited because the clam chowder was delicious. However it all went down hill. I ordered the steak and eggs and my steak was overlooked and it was clear that my food was sitting under the warmer for some time. I sent the food back because I prefer my steak medium rare. My second steak literally made me throw up. It appeared to be a tapeworm or something on my steak. Though management was willing to take the food off the bill, I was disappointed at their reaction. Never will be going back.

M Street Bar was very accommodating for my party of 25. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks provided. We had a private room and server, which made things much easier. I didn’t like the fact that our waiter stopped serving us mimosas at 2:30 without a last call warning but the situation was taken care of by providing another round. We also like how the manager honored the Unilocal coupon for a free shot for everyone. Overall, we had a great birthday brunch and will be back. :)

Came here for a birthday brunch. Their brunch deal, three courses and champagne for a little under $ 27, is probably one the best and affordable in the city. Friendly staff and manager. Will definitely keep this mind come with a big group in the future.

Staff was unfriendly and the food so so. I got married there 4 years ago and they told me management has changed… Definitely not for the better.

I always go to brunch with my girlfriends and this is probably one of my favs. Came on a Sunday for the first time and we just randomly picked a brunch spot out of the many brunch spots in DC. Great music, a little small but not crowded at all. We did bottomless mimosas which were great, a little too great because I was drunk all day. Food was also good as well, we did the 3 courses. We’ve only been there once but need to come back soon!

It’s a terrific date spot and is quiet most of the time so it’ll feel like no one around is around.

Sunday bottomless brunch is a must! For $ 30, you get a bottomless serving of champagne and/or mimosas, an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. I made a reservation the evening before and was promptly seated upon arrival. You’re given a muffin/Danish pastry basket while you wait for your food to arrive which happens quickly! I got a Caesar salad for my appetizer, the pancake combo as my entrée and a raspberry sorbet for dessert. Food came out in a timely matter and there was little to no delay between courses. ALL of the food was excellent. I can’t speak on the eggs that came with my pancake combo because I was too full to eat them :-( Our server, Marian, was a sweetheart and kept our glasses filled to the brim with champagne/mimosas. Would recommend and return to this establishment.

Came for a Bedroom Kandi Brunch. once seated we started with the unlimited mimosas, which were good. i think they used mango instead of oj. the food was good, though the service got slow as our section for 4 groups filled the area. I don’t know if it a place i will go back too really as parking is a nightmare, and the food was ok. as a foodie i expected a lot more.

I loved the quinoa salad with steak and the cheesy buffalo fries. The steak was extremely tender. It could not have been better! We also enjoyed the hamburger, pecan pie, raspberry sorbet, and the apple pie. Everything tasted great! They could use better non-alcoholic drinks.

I’d never even noticed this place before, but a friend recommended it for brunch, so we met up around 1pm on a Saturday. They have a great bottomless mimosa deal — a three-course meal(appetizer, entrée, dessert) with unlimited booze until 3pm, for only $ 25. Schwing! The ambiance is great. It’s attached to a restaurant, so it seems fancy but… well, isn’t. You could go here all dressed up, or wearing jeans & a T-shirt, & both would be perfect acceptable. It’s got high ceilings & multiple floors, so it doesn’t feel too crowded in any one area of the restaurant. They also have two party rooms across the lobby of the hotel, which are technically served by the restaurant. On the day we went, they were booked for wedding showers; seems like a great place for them. We both ordered the greens salad as a starter, which was fresh but nothing to wow us. For my entrée, I went with the chicken & waffles, which I was really excited about because usually, the chicken half of chicken & waffles has bones, which I hate. This was a boneless breast, thin & crispy & golden-fried, almost like schnitzel, on top of a perfect buttermilk waffle. SODELICIOUS. My friend ordered a basic all-American brunch — eggs, potatoes, bacon — which was all perfectly done, too. Our dessert options were chocolate mousse & raspberry sorbet; we both went with the latter, which was a nice final course. Can you say stuffed? The service is the only thing that was slightly lacking. Our server was very friendly, & she was quick with the mimosa refills, but the timing between our dishes took longer than it should’ve. We finished eating around 3pm, not because we stayed long for more mimosas but because that’s how long the whole meal took — too long, in my humble opinion. It was still a great meal, though, & I was in good company, so I didn’t mind the wait too much. If you’re in a hurry, you might want to try someplace else, but if you’ve got a few hours to kill with friends over a solid brunch & bottomless mimosas, M Street Bar & Grill a great weekend spot for it!
