Luxxery Express Medical Spa

Spa Week is a great tradition I take part in year after year where I sample local spas for massages and facials. Unfortunately, I am a tad disappointed in what I thought was a great deal, in what promises to be a new hidden gem that I discovered at Luxxery. The spa is in a great location for Glover Park/​Gtown residents and I was sad to find this opened up just after I moved away from Glover.
Now, onto the procdedure. During my anti-​aging facial (ok I just hit 30 so why not) I was warned there may be some tingling. In reality, it stung quite a bit. Towards the end of the session, I was warned that there may be some peeling. This session took place on Wednesday, it is now Monday and I’m still peeling. In fact, my skin has felt tight (not good tight, painful tight) and the skin cracks when I smile. This treatment works well for others and I am assured my skin will look better than ever, but perhaps this isn’t the treatment for me.
I highly recommend that if you get an anti-​aging facial, give it a week prior to any important events (i.e. college alumni event and weekend where you meet the boyfriends family and childhood friends, ouch).
