Great food and cheap beer. Outdoor seating in the heart of H Street.

I only come here for the stir fry. You go pick out all that you want from a little nugget style bar. You can choose from beef, shrimp and chicken or just do veggies. They give you a little white bowl to stuff as much as you can from the bar and pick your sauces. It’s an ok little set up but I personally think the bowl needs to be bigger. Good little spot for some healthy lunch on the run.

Food was not that great and the service was horrible the employees are scare of management. one mention how he would get fired if he added some extra veggies to the order!!! My little girl drop a few veggies on the floor while helping us set up our bowl. The manager came out before we even before we even took our first bite to tell us that we need to watch out and not drop stuff because other customers complaint… I’m like I saw no one at the veggie bar are you serious he’s like yes… We tip our waiter and left right away with completely embarrassed to be treated like an employee with out touching the food! We are never coming back to this over price rude establishment!

Chanced upon this place for lunch and was in the mood for Chinese(the across the street was closed). There were a few customers which meant the service was good. The guy that did grilling was great and encouraged us to add more stuff to our bowl. The food was good, I had beef. The veggie dumplings were ok, a little overcooked. The prices were reasonable and we were saturated.

Khan’s does not cater to the African-American community. And that’s a sad fact in 2016. Last night around 2 am(technically this morning), myself and a few friends visited Khan’s on our way to an outing. This being my second time at this establishment, I wasn’t too keen on revisiting it due to the first experience I had, which included piss poor service towards my colleague and I, and exemplary service afforded to the whites patrons that surrounded us. The server only visited or table at the behest of an raised arm and an «excuse me», while he automatically frequented the tables around us. Being a black male in America, even in DC, I often experience such things. And no matter whether subtle or blatant, the weight of the wrong leaves the same bitter taste in your mouth. When I brought it to the managers attention, he couldn’t care less. He didn’t even offer an apology. I told myself I would never visit this establishment again. Well, on this day, a year or so later, here I am again. Hoping that that incident was not the true face of Khan’s, and willing to give it another shot. Bad idea. After they cooked our food, we began to eat at the counter, to which the manager politely informs us that it is not for eating. I responded in kind, with an apology. We then moved to one of the many available tables. The owner then comes to us and says«you all have to leave, because these tables are for customers». All of us had just purchased meals. Dumbfounded, I asked him to repeat himself. Hoping that through his heavy Asian accent, I misunderstood what this man had just said to us. He repeated that the tables are for customers, and that you all said to-go so you can’t stay and eat. At khan’s, the dynamic of takeout and eat in, is virtually the same, and there were others seated eating from the same«to go» containers that we had just received. I requested my money-back, to which he stared in shock for a second before offering us «a seat». To which I responded«no, I want my money back». Begrudgingly, he returned my money. At that moment, a breeze of déjà vu swept by me, and I then recognized the same look, from the same face, of the last manager that couldn’t care less about the very relevant concerns of a customer, nor, apparently, for the money of which holds the same color as everyone else’s. I AMDONEWITHKHAN’S!

Greeted with one of the warmest and inviting smiles, as Pitbull pumps in the background, immediately you’ll feel the great atmosphere. Now I will say if you have never been here before then for many reasons dining in is a must for the complete ‘Khan’ signature Mongolian flavors, particularly for the Happy Hours throughout the week. With a variety of vegetables and fruit that allow you to really get creative with your meal. They give you one tool: ANEMPTYBOWL. Fill it up! Another tip of advice, just remember everything has to fit in the bowl so don’t get too overzealous at the start of the line because noodles go on top. You might feel a little crazy with your«Leaning Tower of Noodles,» but it’s all about the finished product. Create your own sauce. If you like spice, try mixing the Teriyaki with the Spicy Chili and Pepper. You can’t go wrong. Pass your bowl over to the chef and let him –sword– your meal into stir fry perfection. Literally, swords! No complaints.

Great! Cheap, fast, delicious. I’ve always loved Mongolian BBQ style places, and this one is a good one. It’s not as high end and over the top as BDs, it just does the trick.

I did not try the food, but Khan’s has the best cocktail prices on H St NE. They have happy hour all day long with several big TVs to watch sports.

I have heard so many wonderful things about this place! Me and a few co-workers decided to try it out for lunch. The food was very appealing to the eye, however, the food more specifically the shrimp was BAD. As soon as we open the containers, a bad smell came out. We assume the smell was related to the sauce that we chosen, however this was not the case. I immediately contacted the restaurant and informed them of the issue, we were offered a refund. When I called back and spoke to a different employee she was unaware of the bad shrimp which leaves me with the assumption that the spoiled shrimp was served to other consumers which is very unsanitary. If you can, please avoid this place!

Just moved into the area and always walked past khans. Finally went in and glad I did. The food was great and so was the service. We did the the grill. We filled up our bowls with all the veggies and noodles. It was delicious.

Just ok… I’ve been to much better Mongolian styled restaurants, but not many that have a bar! Woooot! They have a good amount of selections on the menu if you choose not to go the stir fry route… I also got the egg rolls, which were amazing! The stir fry was just ok… but staff is really friendly and eager to explain how their menu works. It’s located in the busier area of H st, so if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, you will hear a mixture of go go music, and the base from the club next door, along with the mixture of random pop music they are playing… lol. I’d go back, it is defiantly drunk food, but I don’t think they stay open late to be qualified as a after hours spot.

Overpriced for what you get or «pile» on. You don’t get to pile your meat on. They add it for you. My chicken was really dry and over cooked. Normally I’ll put sauce directly on the meat, but I couldn’t because they don’t give me access.

Came here for lunch one day and it was pretty average. You pick your choice of meat and get a little bowl to put your vegetables and rice in and then you give it to the chef. I thought there would be more of a performance aspect to the cooking, as advertised, but we were informed that someone would bring the food to us. I’d go back and try it for happy hour based on Unilocal reviews but I probably wouldn’t come back just for the Mongolian bbq.

The set-up here is pretty simple and straight-forward. You get to choose everything you want in your dish(meat/chicken/seafood, vegetables/fruits, sauces, etc.) and then a chef will cook it for you. So, you can get a totally different meal every time you go, or stick to what you like. The staff are kind and explain the process to you and you will also have a server at your table(there are menu items available as well). It’s right on H Street, so it’s easy to get to and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Basic of the basic. * Get seated * Order you drink and what kind of protein you want from the server * The server gives you a bowl where you go to the bar to load up your bowl with the contents you want it plus the kind of sauce you want your protein in. * Take it to the grill master, and he cooks it. He’ll ask what type of rice you want — white or brown? * Server brings it to your table. * Eat * Get the bill * Leave I did the above steps. Food was good, but very basic of the basic stuff. I don’t find this concept original nor price worthy. I’ll have to make this contents at home next time. Service was good. I don’t know the kid’s name, but he was sweet and checked in on me. There were only 2 other patrons in the joint on Easter Sunday… understandably why.

MNever had drinks here though I feel like with all the bar options on H street Khans is not the place I would seek out cocktails. As for the food — I like the grill option — the meat was cooked well and tasted fresh and I like being able to load my bowl with veggies. All the sauce options are great(I combine a few). I think between the noodles you put in the veggie bar and the rice they give the portions are great and one of the most budget friendly somewhat healthy(not greasy) meals you can get on H street(I eat my meal for 2 meals as I do take out). Service is pleasant(my experience is only for take out). 3.5 if I could

On 3÷13÷2015 My Girlfriend and I visited Khan’s for good meal and a relaxing time. Neither happened. When we arrived we wanted to get our usual, 10 wings(Half plain, Half Sweet Chili), 2 Mongolian Noodle Bowls, I ordered the Peach Martini and my girlfriend gets the Choco-Tini. Well safe to say nothing went right. 1st, Khan’s took the Choco-Tini off the Menu, however the bartender stated he could make it. After a 30 minutes wait, he informed us he did not have the ingredients. 2nd, Once the wings arrived they were much smaller than they were in the past experiences coming to Khan’s. 3rd, My girlfriend ordered her bowl with chicken and shrimp and was told you can do this in a combination for no extra charge. Once she went to the grill cook and was told she only asked and paid for chicken, Khan’s did not assist in resolving the problem, instead the waitress continued business as normal. My girlfriend was upset because of the lack of customer service. 4th, I explained to the waitress to bag all the food and present the bill. Once the bill arrived we were charged extra for her shrimp and extra for Beef! As well, we were charged for her Choco-Tini that the bar could not make! The server took 15 minutes to change the bill. They only took off the Choco-Tini. I felt bad because I really enjoyed Khan’s but times have changed.

Management decide how much meat on your order. Host/Cashier a young Asian was rude when I asked water. No water fountain. You pay for water. Plastic forks, spoons. Deliver your dirty dish to back area. Young Man cooking on grill was friendly & pleasant. He made meal selection suggestions. Such services I’m not coming here.

I stopped by Khan’s for a quick drink on a Thursday night and was surprised that the crowd was rather thin, so grabbing a seat at the bar posed no problems. I was immediately greeted by the bartender(who was downright awesome! I’d go back again just to hang out with him!) and handed the drink and dinner menus. I opted for just drinks and let the bartender know that I wouldn’t order off the menu, but instead would just put my fate into his hands. He definitely delivered with a tasty blue concoction though I have no clue what was in it! The only downside is that the Unilocal check-in offer(that grants you 50% off your first drink), is still showing up yet still not being accepted. Overall a cool and relaxed experience.
