Had a wonderful experience here on a rainy Wednesday — had to get a wig for a Studio 54 theme party and nothing from the halloween stores worked or looked good so after reading the reviews I decided to try this place. The Korean lady who helped me has been here(family business) for 40 years(I for one appreciate longevity as a former small business owner in NYC) and she took the time to pick out the right wig and to style it for me all at an extremely fair price — truly one of the best experiences I’ve had with a retailer and Im 52. I cant recommend them enough but please make room for me next visit, should I need a reason to be back. #keepingsmallbusinessesalive

Kay is a wonderful store owner who treats her diverse client base with respect. I’ve been doing business with her for 15+ years. She’s honest, fare-priced and provides a unique product and service to her neighborhood clients and also to DC’s entertainment community. Her styling, along with the help of the talented«Moon,» is extremely affordable. She also offers great costume jewelry and accessories. You can buy with confidence. I hope DC continues to support this wonderful small business owner. «Bambi» loves Kay Wigs!

This place is great. Lots of wings in different colors, lengths & styles. And not expensive at all! If you are looking for a wig in DC, go see Kay! She’s been in business 25+ years for a reason.

Amazing wig shop. Lots of colors and styles. The woman is super nice and helpful. You can try on anything and she’ll hook it up like a hair stylist. Highly recommended.

My former coworkers and I visited in November 2009. The lady who works there is very nice and accommodating. They have everything from real-looking wigs to neon pink bobs. Long, red and curly? Check. Ginger from Gilligan’s Island(and Mary Anne)? Check. Rapunzel? Check. All styles of African American ‘do’s? Check. Neon blue bobs? Check. Dishwater-blond Marilyn Monroe? Check. Highlighted Mariah Carey? Check. Lavendar mile-high bob? Check. This is not a place for the cancer patient who is looking for a very realistic wig. Most of the merchandise is from $ 15 — $ 55. It was fun to try on wigs, as Halloween was approaching. **Insider tip: there is definitely a protocol here, so observe«wig etiquette.» When you select a wig of interest, hand it over to the woman who works there and sit down in one of the chairs. She will put a little mesh cap over your hair and put the wig on you. It is not kosher to go crazy in there, trying on wigs yourself, higgledy piggledy. You must show respect for the wigs. I love it.
