Dr. Myers USED to be terrific. Perhaps she still is if you can get into see her. I became her patient in 2006. I thought I’d found the best doc in DC. Then… in 2010 things started changing. I simply cannot get into see her or get her to call me back. I’ve had three experiences when I’ve simply needed my doctor(you know, like being sick…). Each of these last times since 2010 have resulted in either a) a fight with office staff including multiple phone calls in order to get into see her the same day b) being seen by an incredibly inexperienced associate or most recently c) being told that after two attempts to see her, a trip to the ER because she couldn’t see me on a Monday, and two antibiotics not working(neither prescribed by her… one the ER doc and the other the doc on call) that she can’t see me for 8 days and given the name of two other doctors I might try… I could see this coming if I was a malingering patient who called constantly with crazy imaginings. I’ve been sick 3 times in 2 years. Not so uncommon. And I can’t SEE my doctor? I am honestly heartbroken because when I DID get in to see her… she was always the best. I don’t know what’s happened. I don’t recommend anyone putting your health in the hands of this practice.

Dr. Myers is fantastic. I’ve been seeing her for almost ten years. I moved to Chicago recently, but I still fly back to see her(or schedule my visits for when I happen to be in DC). I simply refuse to give her up. She’s incredibly patient, takes whatever time you need to talk about concerns, and is very thorough. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Sorry that Reggie G was upset. Sounds like it had nothing to do with Dr. Myers as a physician, but office snafu stuff. I get that that stuff is annoying. Dr. Myers is available via email, which is incredible access. The office staff are always very courteous and kind, which is unusual around here. I’ve called before and left a message and had to call back, but they got to her. Plus, I could send the email. Billing problems should not contribute to Dr. Myers getting a low score. She is amazing. A caring, competent professional. Snafus can be worked out. Don’t let that stop you from seeing Dr. Myers. Good Luck

This is an update on my last review. I was a little upset for a few reasons after my visit. First off, I called twice and she never returned my calls. Secondly, I got my lab results in the mail with no explanation at all. Lastly, they sent the bill to my insurance(that I paid out of pocket at a total of $ 600) and they put the wrong billing code on it so my insurance wouldn’t cover it. I have now called the billing department twice and they said they would resend it but as far as I know, they haven’t. That was about 2 months ago. Blerg! I don’t know if having a great doctor is worth all of this trouble!

Karen is the best GP a girl could possibly have. She spends time with you during each appointment, taking the time to sit with you in her office WITHYOURCLOTHESON and talk about your health issues. She’s incredibly responsive to questions and sends you a letter describing your test results. She’s just the best! However, note that she does not accept insurance so you’ll have to pay out of pocket.
